Drake and Morgan T/as The Refinery City Point
The Refinery was busy even on a Tuesday evening. All started well with an espresso martini. The mini sliders were also tasty and the complimentary kombucha was a surprise. However, it took several minutes to get the attention of the waitress to order my food and the same to get the bill. I ended up putting my coat on and paying at the bar.
Thank for leaving your feedback of your Tuesday evening. Our management team appreciates your feedback and has been made aware of your concerns regarding the standard of service. I hope this experience doesn't discourage you to come back in the near future. Kindest Regards, Sana Reservations Team
Very pleasant location for a relaxed business lunch.
Nice restaurant, good service, good food, good value - thank you.
Food wasn’t great. Service wasn’t great. They gave us the bill for another table. Just not good
Food fine, wine fine, service fine. But if, like me, you’re a solo diner in search of a pre-show meal close to the Barbican, it’s worth knowing that, at 6.30pm on a weeknight, this is a loud-thumpy-music post-work-drinks bar and you will be plonked in the middle of all that, surrounded by people who obliviously leave their bags and empty glasses on your table while shouting their conversations over your shoulder. Things seemed to be quietening down (crowd-wise if not music-wise) by 7.30, when I was leaving, and if want you want is a shouty night out then it’s probably great. But approach with caution.
Very quick service except when trying to pay.
Also the restaurant is very noisy.
We booked a table however weren't advised there was no availability for anyone because of an event, so were turned away at the door.
Booked this restaurant through OpenTable, turned up and the kitchen was closed. Had booked for a partner's family visit too so quite embarrassing. Luckily, there was somewhere to eat nearby. Avoid!
A very average dining experience. My niece ordered mac n cheese, but they couldn't even get that right, serving tagliatelle in some weak cheese sauce. We finished with some scones, which were supposed to come with clotted cream but they gave us soured cream instead, which is just odd. Kitchen didn't seem to know the difference.
Good food and very pleasant service although value/price was good it, should have been better.
Has not changed much since Corney & Barrow days although with the usual refinery menu of course. Good service, food ok and drinks pricey for what they were. All draught beer was off the menu for a few hours while repairs were carried out which knocks them down .
The refurb has made for very pleasant dining especially for business lunches. Also not too noisy so you can hear yourself speak!
The menu was quite diversified. We were given the option of both salad and chips instead of either or which is a welcome change to either/or!
Staff really pleasant, attentive and great to talk with. The setting and ambience was great as well.
Only problem, I went for the pulled pork special main and it literally only had about one 5cm x 1.5cm piece of pork shredded into about 6 or 7 small strips that you could barely taste. The rest of the plate was just toast and lettuce.
Would have said something at the time but, was with a client and didn't want to upset the ambience.
Service was very good and the food was very tasty!
Since the refurb, it has a better look and feel and the menu has improved too!
Good food, service and atmosphere since the refurb!! The menu was varied and the fish cakes were divine!
Met some friends there for lunch - it's been refurbished recently so it has a much friendlier vibe to it than just a city drinking point. The staff were friendly and very attentive to our group. I had the cod risotto - highly recommended and would have it again. Only downside is that they kept running out of food - especially on the fish choices so we had to change our order several times - we still had a great time though.
The recently refurbished C&B Moorgate has been nicely decorated. Unfortunately, they did not have my first choice meal (seems to happen often) however, this may be due to me lunching towards the end of the lunch hour. The replacement was really nice and the waitress was very apologetic that my first choice was not available. Overall very good.
We were told that as they were busy there would be a long wait for food which we were fine with. We were then given complimentary bread and our food turned up in 10 minutes which was way ahead of our expectations.
Over priced. When we asked for the bill we felt had been tricked into drinking pretty expensive wine at £9 and £11.20 a glass. We had assumed we were drinking the house wine, and really thought the waitress should advise us if she was bringing something considerably more expensive. It was a shame because the food was really good, but I won't go back there.
Arriving at 1245 it took 30 minutes to get served to order food. The seating near the door was fine but there was a lack of serving staff so had to go and find servicing staff to order food and drinks on more than one occasion. The food eventually arrive at 13.45 and as my party of 5 had a 2pm meeting it had to be eaten quickly. After finishing the meal, I again had to seek out someone to bring the bill which took another 10 minutes. There was an alarm ringing incessantly on a control panel near the table from our arrival until we eventually found the manager which she did just before we left the restaurant.
If you are looking for a good valued meal in and out in an hour with a good selection of wine then this restaurant fits the bill.
Great venue for a business meeting. Good booth area and attentive staff.
I met colleagues from out of town here for lunch - we arrived at different times and had to delay ordering whilst waiting for the last person but the waiting staff remained attentive and ready to keep taking additional orders.
Very good for an office lunch.
The restaurant is always well presented however we were a little disappointed in this experience. Even though our coke came out of bottles they all seemed to be flat and 2 of us asked for a medium burger and they came well done. Furthermore there was a mistake on the bill.
Good venues for a business meeting. You are not overcrowded so you can talk freely and service was quick.
Good service on a very busy Friday when lots of offers were on. Overall pleased though they did try to charge us full price for lunch when we had handed in vouchers!
Hardly anyone in the bar, reduced menu because of the Christmas shutdown and 45 minutes wait for greasy over-cooked food. Poor show C & B.
Great venue for a christmas lunch. Good attentive service and fast and efficient service.
We were offered and nice and quiet part of the restaurant so that we could have a business meeting. Quick and efficient service.
Great menu, fast and efficient service.
Great location, attentive staff.
Two of us went for lunch here last week and I have to say we were a little disappointed with the quality of the food. We both ordered steak sandwiches but the steak was quite tough. Our drinks were also flat. I'm not sure we would go back to this location as it didn't seem that we really got value for money.
We went there for a team lunch, and you would expect a prompt and professional service as the business targets the city professionals during their lunch break. It took 20 minutes between each waitress appearance at our table (menus, drinks, orders) an more than one hour to receive an average but overpriced burger (most of the other options on the menu were not available). Restaurant bill for lower than average pub food.
Great venue, fast and efficient service and ideal to hold an early breakfast meeting.
Good space in the City for business lunches and after work drink.
Quick and polite service, air conditionaing and aspace to have a business breakfast meeting .
I always have the same thing when I have lunch here - the Tuna Nicoiuse salad. The best I've had anywhere. Service is always great and the wine list is extensive. All in all, I highly recommend C&B Citypoint for drinks and/or lunch.
