Drake and Morgan T/as The Sipping Room
Staff accommodating but unfortunately they didn’t have the wine requested. We agreed a more expensive wine for the same price so it seemed that the restaurant compromised. The starters weren’t finished when the main course arrived. It had to be returned and then it came back cold. So we started again. It took a while...
When the bill came we had to revisit the price agreed as it was wrong.
Shame about our evening. Food tasted good eventually, but it was a slog to get to this point!
Came for mother’s day. Service was slow and once the mains were cleared we were completely forgotten. They advertised glass of Prosecco for all moms dining with them, but I haven’t been offered one. Chicken BLT came without bacon and on top of that was absolutely tasteless.
Great decor however portions only barely adequate size
Having booked for 14 unfortunately our table was not ready when we arrived at 17:30 we then had to loiter whilst the table was prepared downstairs. We were seated 20 minutes later. The service was very poor. We waited for our drinks and food and didn't receive both until 19:30.
We waited 15 minutes to be seated, were shown to dirty sticky table. We waited another 20 minutes for food order. We order champagne, prawn lollipop, chicken wings, steak and chips and oyster linguini. We waited another 20 minutes for our food, 10 minutes in to our food order we were told pan fried salmon was on last weeks order we had to inform them that we did not order that and the waitress had informed the wrong table. When our starters came we received no champagne until 5 minutes into our food. The food was quite bland and not as expected. Oyster Linguini had hard bits in which was hard to enjoy. There was loud music coming from another area which ruin the ambience when trying to enjoy and have a conversation with your partner. The bill came to £150.70 which was overrated for the service and bland food in my opinion.
We ended up going to the O2 Intercontinental Clippers Bar to have desserts and more champagne and loved the service and food there.
Four of 4 dined at The Sipping Room. I chose it because of its location and decor. Our order was quick (probably too quick because we were early diners). Husband ordered a burger and was too dried. Music was very loud and much worse upstairs where they have the bar. Unable to lower volume downstairs. Not recommend if you want to dine and have conversations with friends.
A really nice restaurant. Excellent service, drinks and food!
Was amazing and the service was exemplary highly recommended
I came to The Sipping Room with a friend for my birthday for a late lunch. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was good, however the food was a let down. My starter was bland and for my main I ordered the Buttermilk Chicken Burger which was very underwhelming as it was literally a piece of chicken in a bun, with one lettuce leaf and chipotle mayo. Overall, it didn't live up to my expectation and an unsatisfactory bday meal.
Amazing!!! Everything was perfect and the service was impeccable.
Really enjoyable with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere from all staff. The spot is brilliant for the weekend as Canary Wharf tends to be a lot quieter than the City. We were a group of 30 and never felt rushed or pressured. Food was of a good standard too. Thank you all!
The food was good and this is suitable for families, friends and dates!
Ordered a steak medium had to be sent back as it was too rare. Replacement was also too rare but they brought another serving of chips so basically ate chips for lunch as could not eat the meat.
Rude receptionist, thought it was a hassle to extend our booking to 8 instead of 6 although the place was completely empty. Very basic, plain food.
We have visited this restaurant a number of times and it is one of our favourites in Canary Wharf with a lively atmosphere / good bar area as well as good food and great service.
I’m a massive fan of Drake & Morgan and have been to many of their locations. I ordered the cheese burger which was wonderfully cooked, the truffle fries were seasoned perfectly and the cocktails that I ordered were made to perfection.
Perfect for a night out with colleagues. Good music, cozy ambiance, good wine !
Made my experience very good, balloon man came over made us two balloons, lovely staff, very cosy restaurant, would come again 100%
Lovely decor& surroundings.
Food over priced for what you get.
Including the the fact it was luke warm.
That was extra.
Also service charge of 12.5% not exactly happy to pay this although you can ask for this to be removed.
Just average but I guess as it is canary wharf.... We don't all earn bankers salaries..!!!
Excellent experience! A group of 22 for Sunday brunch, quiet, nicely decorated, lovely food, highly recommend!
The setting was nice and the food was great. Would definitely recommend to friends
I booked this on behalf of my V.P and Managers and their clients to take out post a meeting.
The feedback was that they had excellent service , food quality and value was good too.
The vicinity /ambience considering it is surrounded by skyscraper height buildings, but near to the waterside was an added bonus
I will happily book this venue again for our company /client dinning
Visited several times and enjoy the lively atmosphere . Despite being very busy with large parties the service was friendly and efficient . Food is good standard and good variety and most important is very good value.
Great place, friendly staff and food was yum.
I was disappointed with my experience at the Sipping Room last Wednesday. I've never had a bad experience there or at any other Drake and Morgan bar. We were a group of four with a reserved table outside and were given table service. We ordered our first round of drinks within in a few minutes of sitting down and then had to wait nearly 30 minutes for the drinks to arrive, we had to keep asking where our drinks were. Luckily we had some tap water. We were asked 3 times by the waiter if we were ready to order food, we said we'd like our drinks first before we order/eat! The food was disappointing (again I have never had a bad food experience at the Sipping Rooms or at a D&M bar before), the duck salad was 75% bean sprouts, it was lacking in flavour and actual ingredients and had the most pitiful amount of duck. You should rename it to bean sprout salad. 3 of our table order this salad and we barely touched it. We ordered a few more drinks afterwards, to be honest it would have been quicker to go to the bar ourselves or indeed walk to the bar next door and start our evening all over again. Very disappointing experience.
there is only bar service inside and we were on a business lunch. there were two items sold out so it lead to a lot of embarrassment and time to order. the bar staff were unwilling to help with the order. the order required a lot of decisions at the bar; way want lamb cooked - the experience was completely impractical for a business lunch. it took nearly 10 minutes to order.....
Food and atmosphere was good. Service was poor. Had to wait ages for food/drinks despite it being not that busy
For a restaurant area the music was too loud, myself and other guests were having to shout at each other. The restaurant should investigate separate speaker systems for the bar and restaurant areas.
We ate outside on a lovely sunny day. Despite it being quiet things were rather erratic service wise. We had random things delivered to us (other peoples food) and when our order arrived there were a number of mistakes.
Puddings were nice.
This isn't a restaurant - only go here if you are looking for somewhere to drink where you can get a burger on the side. Service was very quick and friendly.
I'd walked past this venue on countless occasions but never booked for food/drink. I'm glad I did as it has a great vibe - with live music (on a Friday night at least), creative food and drinks menu along with good service.
The staff were friendly and attentive and the value for money is first rate too!
Good family dining experience and food in dockands.
Overall a nice meal, but my guests and I were seated at different tables on opposite sides of the restaurant...where we waited and waited for each other! That's the first time that has ever happened to any of us. The place was immaculately well kept though, and the food was nice although we weren't blown away.
wonderful place to go and eat, we booked to be in one oft he igloos. our waiter was excellent and the food was well presented and tasted delicious. i would highly recommend the sipping room for anyone who wants to have a different dining experience.
Nice quiet spot with a good ambience - the music isn’t too loud.
As a coeliac the restaurant had a number of gluten free options including flat breads which was a great surprise.
Would definitely go back.
We have visited Sipping Room a number of times and while my wife was pleased with her meal it was my most disappointing due to the fact chicken was a very small portion and bacon was cold and the burger roll was small and not well toasted. Service was friendly and efficient and we will return and hope that my meal was just a one off disappointment
I used to love this place but the last few times the service has really gone down. And last Saturday was the worst so far. Super slow sloppy service but a slightly abrupt rude lady and seemed liked she didn't really want to be there. The manager was friendly and quick to try and resolve.. but everything from waiting for the drinks, ordering, wrong order and incorrect bill. Maybe my last time there.. disappointing!
Igloos were lovely bit overpriced food
Service great though
Was bit disappointed that there was no cognac for menu listed cocktail.
But overall we had great time.
Good food, yummy cocktails and good wine.
Lovely atmosphere & music.
Have visited Sipping Room a number of times and is a lively restaurant with good bar area and food and drinks are reasonably priced and good value. Service is excellent and really friendly and efficient . Food is a good standard although not particularly innovative
