Drake and Morgan T/as The Sipping Room
The setting was nice and the food was great. Would definitely recommend to friends
I booked this on behalf of my V.P and Managers and their clients to take out post a meeting.
The feedback was that they had excellent service , food quality and value was good too.
The vicinity /ambience considering it is surrounded by skyscraper height buildings, but near to the waterside was an added bonus
I will happily book this venue again for our company /client dinning
Visited several times and enjoy the lively atmosphere . Despite being very busy with large parties the service was friendly and efficient . Food is good standard and good variety and most important is very good value.
Great place, friendly staff and food was yum.
I was disappointed with my experience at the Sipping Room last Wednesday. I've never had a bad experience there or at any other Drake and Morgan bar. We were a group of four with a reserved table outside and were given table service. We ordered our first round of drinks within in a few minutes of sitting down and then had to wait nearly 30 minutes for the drinks to arrive, we had to keep asking where our drinks were. Luckily we had some tap water. We were asked 3 times by the waiter if we were ready to order food, we said we'd like our drinks first before we order/eat! The food was disappointing (again I have never had a bad food experience at the Sipping Rooms or at a D&M bar before), the duck salad was 75% bean sprouts, it was lacking in flavour and actual ingredients and had the most pitiful amount of duck. You should rename it to bean sprout salad. 3 of our table order this salad and we barely touched it. We ordered a few more drinks afterwards, to be honest it would have been quicker to go to the bar ourselves or indeed walk to the bar next door and start our evening all over again. Very disappointing experience.
there is only bar service inside and we were on a business lunch. there were two items sold out so it lead to a lot of embarrassment and time to order. the bar staff were unwilling to help with the order. the order required a lot of decisions at the bar; way want lamb cooked - the experience was completely impractical for a business lunch. it took nearly 10 minutes to order.....
Food and atmosphere was good. Service was poor. Had to wait ages for food/drinks despite it being not that busy
For a restaurant area the music was too loud, myself and other guests were having to shout at each other. The restaurant should investigate separate speaker systems for the bar and restaurant areas.
We ate outside on a lovely sunny day. Despite it being quiet things were rather erratic service wise. We had random things delivered to us (other peoples food) and when our order arrived there were a number of mistakes.
Puddings were nice.
This isn't a restaurant - only go here if you are looking for somewhere to drink where you can get a burger on the side. Service was very quick and friendly.
I'd walked past this venue on countless occasions but never booked for food/drink. I'm glad I did as it has a great vibe - with live music (on a Friday night at least), creative food and drinks menu along with good service.
The staff were friendly and attentive and the value for money is first rate too!
Good family dining experience and food in dockands.
Overall a nice meal, but my guests and I were seated at different tables on opposite sides of the restaurant...where we waited and waited for each other! That's the first time that has ever happened to any of us. The place was immaculately well kept though, and the food was nice although we weren't blown away.
wonderful place to go and eat, we booked to be in one oft he igloos. our waiter was excellent and the food was well presented and tasted delicious. i would highly recommend the sipping room for anyone who wants to have a different dining experience.
Nice quiet spot with a good ambience - the music isn’t too loud.
As a coeliac the restaurant had a number of gluten free options including flat breads which was a great surprise.
Would definitely go back.
We have visited Sipping Room a number of times and while my wife was pleased with her meal it was my most disappointing due to the fact chicken was a very small portion and bacon was cold and the burger roll was small and not well toasted. Service was friendly and efficient and we will return and hope that my meal was just a one off disappointment
I used to love this place but the last few times the service has really gone down. And last Saturday was the worst so far. Super slow sloppy service but a slightly abrupt rude lady and seemed liked she didn't really want to be there. The manager was friendly and quick to try and resolve.. but everything from waiting for the drinks, ordering, wrong order and incorrect bill. Maybe my last time there.. disappointing!
Igloos were lovely bit overpriced food
Service great though
Was bit disappointed that there was no cognac for menu listed cocktail.
But overall we had great time.
Good food, yummy cocktails and good wine.
Lovely atmosphere & music.
Have visited Sipping Room a number of times and is a lively restaurant with good bar area and food and drinks are reasonably priced and good value. Service is excellent and really friendly and efficient . Food is a good standard although not particularly innovative
Very quiet when we went they forgot to bring 2 parts of my meal, champagne and chips, considering how quiet it was the service was slow, would go again when more lively hopefully I will get all the meal I ordered
Have visited this restaurant a few times now and the food is good quality and wine and beer selection very good. Quite traditional cooking but that is fine for the pricing and the whole evening was enhanced by very friendly and helpful waiters and waitresses
Beautiful setting right on the water at West India Quay. Faster service and more attentive staff than at their sister venue, The Parlour. Food was burger and chips, but burger and chips done very well. Not at all rushed, nice to hang out in there, good margaritas.
Staff was awesome! Bar area is CRAZY LOUD - but downstairs area for dinner was great!
Had visited Sipping Room before when visiting Canary Wharf and was pleased to return again . Ambience good whether just having a drink with friends or a meal downstairs.
Food is very good value and varied cooking at a good quality. Will certainly go again. Service was excellent / Very friendly
Attention: They do not have the same brunch menu as the one on their website! Only 20 or 30 pounds set menus. The brunch does not worth 20 pounds. Service is very slow and they got the wrong bill (the server noticed and corrected)
Great place & outstanding service. Would highly recommend for a special occasion or general get together.
I've been here a few times as I really love the venue. Good food with friendly and accommodating service. Disappointed with the vodka martini my friend and ordered - definitely lacking vodka!
I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday brunch. The service was attentive without being over-bearing. The Mimosas were excellent, delicious. The Haddock was so fresh and the chips were nice and hot. The ambiance is soothing and relaxing. This restaurant is a great place for a woman, traveling for business alone, to dine. I felt safe and very comfortable. I love the fact that they decorate with potted herbs. Too bad there isn't a Sipping Room in NY. I will definitely dine there on my next trip to London.
Great food and stunning location. Really good service although quite a delay on getting drinks and food, however they were busy and we were happy to wait
Birthday brunch with family and friends. The service was great. Staff are friendly and active. Outdoor sitting in August month was still very nice. Food presentation was lovely, delicious and healthy. We like healthy smoothies a lot. If you want to enjoy your meal with family and friends in a relaxing and quiet time, highly recommend the weekend.
Gorgeous interiors, wonderful attentive staff and fantastic food - I would highly recommend the Sipping Room. (Not sure about the new name choice though - this venue was formally The Bothy)
greasy squid, greasy sweet potatoes chips, greasy fat chips, greasy onion ring..... everything was full of oil... my coconut curry didnt taste of anything, specially coconut, rice wasnt basmati and overcooked, all vegetables in the curry were overcooked, also ive found a linguina pasta in my curry.
flat iron steak was leaking blood so it hasnt been rested properly, and it was really though. 73£ for 2 people for a meal dipped in oil.... ill pass next time.
An excellent location and pretty decent food.
I would go again
I am a teacher from Germany who stayed in London for 5 days with a group of students aged 17 and 18. We wanted to have a meal together on our last evening in the Docklands and after some research on the Internet decided on The Bothy. My colleague and I liked the fact that we could book a table for 18 people and that the menu offered diverse meals.
I would have preferred booking by phone but then at the hostel booking via opentable was finally successful.
The people working at The Bothy were very friendly and patient when dealing with our large group.
I would always come back.
Convenient and cozy restaurant bar within a listed building.
