It’s quite expensive for breakfast. $14 for 4 tiny scones and $19 for breakfast with 1 sausage is not good value.

Service is always good and it’s one of the few places in the County that is open everyday and takes reservations.

Had NYE reservations at 8:00.

Walked in. No hostess to greet us. There was a front desk person adjacent to the hostess post but she didn't even bother looking up from her computer.

Hostess eventually arrives. Tells us we'll be seated in 10 minutes and to find a spot to sit in the common area.

35 minutes later. No one has come to update us or at the very least offer a glass of water or opportunity to order a drink from the bar.

I get up to get my own update and we're finally seated.

When we order I ask what the Celeriac Steak is. Waitress says "oh it's a steak." As in a meat steak. No it's not.

It was alright but definitely not what I had asked if it was.

My wife didn't like her 2nd cocktail. Most other nice restaurants offer to replace it. The waitress never even alluded to the possibility of getting it replaced.

When I asked her about the "steak", again, no offer to replace it. She just said "oh you're right, that was my mistake, sorry."

Eventually asked to speak with the manager. She was very reasonable.

My dinner and our drinks were comp'd.

The entire experience, however, was an overall disappointment.

Inability to host, communicate, understand the menu and adhere to reservation times made this place a complete bust. It

A wonderful brunch with family New Year’s Eve.
Very quiet due to 50% reduced capacity due to COVID-19.
Excellent service as always from Brigitte.

Food was great, service was attentive. Our meal was delayed but the server explained they were aware and took drinks off for the inconvenience. Wonderful atmosphere and would be an amazing place to visit in summer as patio area looks great but we visited in December. Would recommend for romantic dinner or special occasion

A foodie oasis. An absolute godsend. We basically ate two dinners in a row because we couldn’t stop - everything was so incredibly good. The cocktails are everything you want them to be - interesting, varied, and perfectly balanced. The food menu as well - something for everyone, and everything is delicious. If I lived a little closer I’d probably be there every night!
Word of caution though, it can be rather chilly (so many beautiful windows overlooking the lake!) so do wear a sweater if you tend to be cold. A small inconvenience well worth the fantastic atmosphere and absolutely 5 star food and beverage!

It is our usual place to stop by while on route to Quebec or US to dine and admire the view. Normaly I would give it five stars. The thing that threw us off this time is a soviet style propaganda in restrooms that basically encourages people to report their fellow citizens. It was uncalled for and left a very bad taste.

It was my first time in PEC and brunch at the Drake Devonshire did not disappoint. Our server was terrific, my turmeric latte had lots of flavour, the blueberry scones were beyond yummy and my poached eggs were cooked to perfection! We were fortunate to snag a window table on a beautiful sunny winter’s day! Thanks for making my first but definitely not the last visit to PEC so memorable!

Not very good experience. We sat there for about 10 mins and no body served us. But a waitress served another two tables that came after us. I raise hand a few times and the waiter/waitress didn’t see it. I ordered medium steak but it is medium rare. Meat was tough to chew. And the chicken was too dry. Duck wings was good though. Not recommended.

We celebrated a birthday which I mentioned in the reservation hoping for a window table. No luck and I guess no big deal. The menu choices were ok, mostly ordinary. The meals of fish and chicken were good but basic. The service was friendly and efficient. The ambience was very nice. My major issue was the price of wine. An 8 ounce glass of table wine cost $25 for a wine that might cost $15 for a bottle in the LCBO. I find that outrageous.

All was wonderful with our only disappointment being the waitress serving us. We were the second people in the restaurant at 11:30 for lunch that day so its not like the place was busy. She left us with menus but not a drink menu then disappeared. I actually had to go locate her for one. We started our lunch off with a glass of Persecco each and ordered immediately. While waiting for our lunch we decided we'd like to have a glass of wine with our meal too. She was not around so I had to go find her again. We were not asked during our meal if it was satisfactory until we were almost done. If we had needed anything we would have had to go find her again. I mean, she was a pleasant, attractive young woman just not very attentive. I think for what we were being charged for our meals the service should have been as equally perfect. I would have hated to have been there when you were busy!

We enjoyed our meal very much. The pickerel was EXCELLENT. All courses were very well presented and vary tasty - with only one exception; the peach pie did not have the expected peach flavour - and probably because peach season is so far behind us now.

Our meals were good but not over the top. The chicken dish was a little bland however the sides were tasty. The steak required quite an effort to cut but had good flavour. You could not substitute out the frites for any other potato.

The $17 french onion soup was very good, but small. But I have yet to meet a french onion soup that is worth $17.

Food was great but service from first arrival was horrendous. Reservation clearly stated that I had 2 toddlers and a baby in my party and were given bar height table. Wouldn’t have been an issue until they said they would stack 2 high chairs together to accommodate the 2 toddlers and push 2 bar seat stools so I could put my bucket with my 5 month old on the seat. This is completely unacceptable. This reservation was made over a month ago which should have been ample time for them to accommodate. Next to ZERO effort was made to move us to a table with bench seating. The entire meal was filled with stress and what ifs and completely unenjoyable. Looking around there were at least 3 tables that were all adults and it would have been a simple swap. This was suppose to be a fun, entertaining birthday brunch with friends that immediately turned into a horrifying experience of potential injury to my own and my friends child. The manager only engaged in conversation after I approached to asked for alternate arrangements. I stressed my concern for safety and for the entire 2 hours that I was there, not once did she come to check up or show any gesture of apology for putting my kids and my friends kid at risk of injury.

We had high expectations for the Drake as we’ve eaten at other Drake restaurants in the city. Unfortunately we were let down here. The tone was set when they were out of multiple things on the menu, with a small menu to begin with. The food is disappointing for the price, tasteless and poor quality and the service was not attentive we felt we had to keep asking for things. Ambience is great but spend your money elsewhere it’s not worth it.

We went for a business anniversary lunch and enjoyed a glass of sparkling wine, each a beet salad, each a main course (mushroom pasta and grain bowl) and each a dessert. All dishes tasted very delicious, the wine was properly chilled, our waitress Paloma was very attentive.
And not to forget the lakeview.

We had a TERRIBLE experience here. On the positive side, the service was outstanding. The atmosphere is polished and sophisticated - quite ex-urban, but not really consistent with the region (which is the attraction). The place was very quiet (time of year, and time of week). We started with the meatballs - which were nothing special, in a sauce that was more tomato paste than anything else (2/5). We had the lamb shank as a main course. It was inedible (0/5) - hard to find the meat and even harder to get the bone to give it up This is not hard. Even I can make lamb shank. We sent it back (and NEVER do that). We got the Bolognese as a second try. But the noodles were badly over-cooked an mushy (1/5). We were offered complementary dessert (declined because ... so what) and, ultimately, a complimentary return meal (except that we live a two hour drive away). Our lamb experience was blamed on a "bad batch", but overall we would have to conclude that this place is NOT about the food.
