People come from near and far to eat, drink and bliss out at Scottish Thistle Award winning Drift, a unique coffee house with breathtaking views over unspoilt miles of Firth of Forth coast and the Bass Rock. Drift is perfect for walkers, cyclists, day trippers and tourists (we’re half a mile away from Tantallon Castle) and very popular with locals too. Everything is freshly made, and, as a farm diversification business born out of a passion for food and drink, we love strengthening the connections between the land, sea and the table.

Lovely setting, food and service - felt a little cramped and rushed due to the busy lunchtime crowd. Nice menu with plenty choice and delicious cakes.

Drift is in a beautiful location with terrific views over the Firth of Forth. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and the service was good. The food was lovely, well presented, hot and reasonably priced, I will certainly return.

We booked as a birthday treat and were not disappointed. We ordered the venison on flatbread, which was absolutely delicious. Portion size was very generous, making this excellent value for money. View over the Bass rock was stunning. Would highly recommend.

Amazing cafe in the most fantastic cliffside location. Great selection of breakfast and lunch options. The bacon rolls generous with light roll, soup of the day (garden pea) was fresh and warm, and mushroom burger delicious. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s my go to stop for any visitors heading through East Lothian.

I think perhaps we didn’t choose the best day to try The Drift. Very busy perhaps too soon after New year? Our drinks and food to ages to come. The mushroom burger was very disappointing and the brioche bun was stale, my rancho eggs was delicious. The coffees were very weak even the americano and extra shot mocha, too weak and very sweet. Cake was very good but too much icing. Water glasses very small but just asked for refill. Expensive for what we got. I will come and try again and give benefit of the doubt as heard great things from friends
