People come from near and far to eat, drink and bliss out at Scottish Thistle Award winning Drift, a unique coffee house with breathtaking views over unspoilt miles of Firth of Forth coast and the Bass Rock. Drift is perfect for walkers, cyclists, day trippers and tourists (we’re half a mile away from Tantallon Castle) and very popular with locals too. Everything is freshly made, and, as a farm diversification business born out of a passion for food and drink, we love strengthening the connections between the land, sea and the table.

    Excellent food in a beautiful setting. The table by the window has the most fantastic view of the firth.

    Drift is one of our favourite places to go for lunch at the weekend. No matter the weather the view is amazing from this clifftop cafe. The food is pretty amazing too - we have never been disappointed yet with anything we have ordered and we try to order something different each time we visit - but we do have favourites. The Pulled Pork Burger is great and we tried the Smashed Venison patty which was fab. Staff are always attentive and welcoming even when it is busy - and it usually is buy. Top Tip - book your table in advance.

    A beautiful location, but disappointed with the service after being told we could get our desserts as a take away at the till when we paid, the person serving us there said we had to get it outside at the takeaway van, and on doing so we encountered a massive queue. We gave up waiting and were really disappointed to miss out on what looked to be delicious cake.

    One of my favourite venues. I took one star off because on this occasion our ‘direct sea view’ table meant that one of us sadly had to sit with our back to the sea, a bit disappointing on my birthday! Gorgeous food and great service. Absolutely zero chance of a seat if you turn up on spec, so you need to plan ahead and book. A note on accessibility: no disabled parking and a rough surface in the car park that’s problematic for mobility aids. Inside in small so very difficult to manoeuvre with a mobility aid.
