People come from near and far to eat, drink and bliss out at Scottish Thistle Award winning Drift, a unique coffee house with breathtaking views over unspoilt miles of Firth of Forth coast and the Bass Rock. Drift is perfect for walkers, cyclists, day trippers and tourists (we’re half a mile away from Tantallon Castle) and very popular with locals too. Everything is freshly made, and, as a farm diversification business born out of a passion for food and drink, we love strengthening the connections between the land, sea and the table.

    It’s located a nice spot but the cafe itself is cramped and too warm. Service a little chaotic.

    Beautiful and creative use of space on a clifftop with breathtaking views. Lovely menu and mouthwatering cakes and scones on offer which we took away with us for later. Great service and definitely worth seeking out for the views for breakfast.

    Disappointed that there were no duck eggs as stated on the menu and no price adjustment for using hen eggs. Stated that sausages were from Andersons the butcher but definitely not as good as the ones we buy ourselves from Andersons the butcher. Lovely friendly service though.

    A couple of friends from Edinburgh and I walked to Drift from North Berwick. We booked a table with a sea view. They were excited about the views and when the food arrived they were delighted. We all enjoyed our food and had a wonderful time.

    First time at Drift today. We had a very tasty lunch with amazing views over the Forth! The lemon drizzle cake was amazing! Will definitely be back!

    Good food and beautiful view. Unless it's a good day and you are happy to sit outside, would recommend booking first. I don't think outside gets the full menu but you would need to check that. I was inside. Dogs are not allowed inside. I will definitely be going again. After my roll I shared a cake but next time I will have cake all to myself as it was delicious!

    Fabulous lunch for 4. Very busy but calm, cheerful and welcoming manager. Lovely atmosphere. Efficient service. Delicious food and coffees. It was our 2 guests’ first visit and they were most complimentary. Thanks to all staff.

    The food was, as always, superb. And the location can't be beaten. But this particular visit, the service was a little more brusque and less friendly than usual. It certainly won't put us off visiting again, it is a very special location for us, but it wasn't quite up to the standards we expect.
