People come from near and far to eat, drink and bliss out at Scottish Thistle Award winning Drift, a unique coffee house with breathtaking views over unspoilt miles of Firth of Forth coast and the Bass Rock. Drift is perfect for walkers, cyclists, day trippers and tourists (we’re half a mile away from Tantallon Castle) and very popular with locals too. Everything is freshly made, and, as a farm diversification business born out of a passion for food and drink, we love strengthening the connections between the land, sea and the table.

Great Location make sure you book a table before you go All day breakfast was very nice with an original presentation the black pudding was gorgeous. Staff were great very pleasant and the Chocolate Guinness cake was to die for.

Food was good and the view is stunning. The menu is varied and interesting. Cafe is very busy with tables quite close together, no somewhere to go if you are looking for quiet. We had booked a table for lunch and I was very disappointed to be told after 55mins that the table was booked and we had to move, I hadn’t actually finished my coffee and felt rushed out. Honestly probably wouldn’t return to sit in for lunch, would consider takeaway as the food was really delicious.

Special place to visit for breakfast or lunch. Spectacular views. Unique environment within repurposed shipping containers. Because of all the hard surfaces the noise level is harsh. But, the food is excellent and the staff is friendly and attentive. A very pleasant experience.
