Situated in the heart of Downtown Rochester, Drifters has brought together delicacies from around the country for a unique, scratch kitchen dining experience, and a few touches of our own.
I wanted a simple, savory burger, and I actually got more than I hoped for. Good food, attentive but not intrusive service, and a nice environment. I would definitely recommend Drifters. Much better than most hotel restaurants.
reasonable price. we were not able to finish , serving size is large enough. the waitress was very accomodating.
We read online that the restaurant was ooen.We made reservations and received a confirmation email . Then we went there and it was closed. Extremely frustrating.
Food was delicious; service outstanding ... Hidden Gem - I wish more people went because they are truly a very good restaurant!!!
Great service, good decor, okay location, bad food.
We made a reservation and we were seated promptly, and gave our drink order. The food took a bit to come out, but we weren't in a hurry and the management comped us a drink for having to wait. The food was DELISH and we will be back! The staff was VERY attentive and apologetic for the wait. The wait was due to a mistake in our order, so i am happy they discovered that prior to delivering the food. They redid both orders and the food was very tasty!
Food was delicious, reasonably priced. Service was great.
I dine at Drifters often as I am a frequent hotel guest... whether i’m at the HGI or the Hyatt, Drifters is always a good go-to for a quick meal. The food is always out super fast (i’m talking, like 5 min after ordering) and the servers are nice. The food is your typical pub-fare so if that’s what you like you won’t be disappointed.. but if your looking for something more of a dining experience you should look elsewhere.
Restaurant was nice and food was good. Good variety to meet needs of young children (mac and cheese and grilled cheese were very good) and adults (burgers, home made chicken fingers, salads were all tasty)
Bob, Thank you so much for your kind rating! We hope to serve you again in the future! Ryan Dooling F&B Manager
My guests and I enjoyed the restaurant. Overall we had a great experience and plan on coming back. Food was on point.
Had good reviews on open table so we choose to stop in on our way through town. Buyer beware - it is in a hotel and is exactly that bad hotel food. Appetizers were disgusting- we got the platter which they were out of one of the items so we got extra of the others. Everything was directly out of a bag frozen product. My salad was browned and had a weird flavor, my husbands garbage plate was oddly sweet when he asked for spicy. Only upside was the bartender tried to take good care of us.
I apologize for your bad experience. As we have recently rolled out a new menu we have worked through any of the complications that are associated with that. The vast majority of our menu is fresh and made in house, but I understand your disproval with our choices. I would like to invite your back for a complimentary experience on us! I look forward to having you back in the future!
Our second visit there. Can get busy. Reserve early.
Such a fun place, food was good and the service was excellent! I can’t wait to go back

A delightful surprise in the heart of downtown Rochester... struggling to come back to a pedestrian-friendly, walkable city. GO to patronize this commitment on their part, and enjoy the excellent food and service!
Thank you for your generous review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us and look forward to having you back in the future. Ryan Dooling Food and Beverage Manager
This is my second annual experience at Drifters where the management was not prepared for a lunch hour full house. At noon, there was only one waitress servicing the entire restaurant, and apparently an understaffed kitchen. Lunch for 5 took over 90 minutes. There were over 1500 attending the NYSSMA conference at the convention center with lunch "on your own". Since the Hilton was one of the host hotels, there should have been communication to alert the restaurant manager. From a business standpoint, there could have been more turn over ($) for Drifters. Tried two years in a row since the food is great, but perhaps never again.
Service was poor, food was late and not worth waiting for. Many better options in the city
It was very quiet in there, but we received great service and the food was great. I wish there were more people but I think that is due to the construction on Stone Street. Anyway - we enjoyed it!
Food was delicious. Wait staff didn't impress. There also was nobody there at 7 pm on a Saturday.
Food wasn't that great of quality. Kinda pricey for what it is. Doesn't have own kitchen it is done in hotel breakfast kitchen area. For the price of 1 appetizer of chicken fingers, cheese plate, a Cuban sandwich, Reuben sandwich, and poutine and 1 glass of wine cost $102 plus tip.
Party of 4 waited around the hostess stand for 10 minutes with no acknowledgment. Then asked a bartender if there is a host and he said no, but I can help you. Another 5+ min went by and we never saw that individual. Finally an individual who appeared to be the manager sat us down and gave us menus. Waited another 15 minutes without seeing a waiter/waitress again. We ended up getting up and leaving without even a sip of water. Very disappointing as the place had a cool vibe for a hotel bar/restaurant.
We stumbled across Drifters when we were downtown and needed a place to eat that was within walking distance of the Auto Museum. We loved it! My son requested that we go there for his 20th birthday as he loved the food so much. Everything tastes fresh, the atmosphere is relaxing, and our birthday party of 6 sat talking for 2 hours without feeling like we should leave. We will definitely return, and recommend it to others. Being vegan on and off I was delighted to find a delicious vegan wrap on the menu. I love this place!
We were staying at The Hilton for St. Patrick’s Day Weekend. We ate at Drifters both Friday and Saturday nights. Very good food and great service. I had a Dirty Martini on Friday night, it was good however on the sweet side. Overall, great restaurant!
The food was really good, a bit pricey but good. We were there for date night, we were seated over in a corner, pretty secluded from others, which was nice. Our waitress was real pleasant. When we explained that we were celebrating our Birthdays, she brought out our dessert with 2 candles. Really sweet.
Not many options on the menu if you’re vegetarian/vegan. They do have a tofu burrito though that was good. My friend got something else and enjoyed it. Really good crowd, I suspect it was a wedding group. Our server was “odd”, I assume there weren’t any specials that night as he never mentioned them, messed up our beer order, wasn’t engaging in the least, and came over once during the meal to check on us (and I believe we were his only table). I’ll go back but hope I don’t get him again.
Late dinner for four was well served and and delicious. It's in the downtown Hilton hotel. Parking could be an issue at certain times. At 9:00 we were able to park on the Main Street.
Unless you are staying at the Hilton garden inn, there is no reason to make the trip.
Drifters offered a nice menu and great food at an affordable price.
Great place before our concert. Waiter was very accommodating and service was terrific. We all enjoyed several well prepared dishes and got to the theater on time.
Great restaurant we visited while traveling thru Rochester New York. Food was great, wait staff was awesome. Would really recommend visiting this newer restaurant by the Hilton Garden Inn
