We were really looking forward to a nice dinner here after checking the menu online. While the menu did have limited vegetarian options, we saw at least 2 main courses we could have. Once seated and having ordered our drinks, we were told there was no vegetarian main courses left so had to have chips. We also paid about £3 each for a sides of ‘beer vegetables’ which turned out to be tiny bowls of slightly vinegary raw vegetables. 2 out of 5 of us were vegetarian, and another of our party had allergies which meant she sticks to a vegan diet. In a place like this it’s pretty shocking that you can’t cater for vegetarians, and didn’t even offer any compensation or apologies for this. What’s more the service that we did get was extremely slow and haphazard and the waiter even completely forgot one of our drinks and one of the dishes we were able to order. The food we did receive was average at best and overpriced. Sad to say we won’t be returning.
Great food great service great beers excellent night
Great place to blether. Noise level not too bad. Food excellent. Beer excellent. Service a bit haphazard, but very friendly, problems solved pretty quickly and definitely amicably.
Design and layout of the place very interesting and pleasant.
Overall very enjoyable experience.
Friendly atmosphere with a relaxing and rustic feel. Food was delicious and good value. Staff were lovely. First visit was a week ago with six other people who all enjoyed the night. I was back again within a few days with a different set of friends and family so I would definitely recommend.
Excellent service and great atmosphere. Great that we can go for some dinner and take our dogs with us.
We arrived about 30mins early and were told that our table wasn't ready but we could have a seat at bar area and we'd be told when a table was available.
We sat there for roughly 20 minutes and heard nothing from the staff, I asked one in passing if we could order there and she said that a table was becoming available and took us over.
After being seated at the table we were left waiting on a server coming over, no one even came by to take a drinks order. Staff were serving other people that came in after us and just generally seemed disinterested in us.
After 20 minutes of waiting, we went to the bar ourselves to order as we were fed up waiting and being ignored, and the staff didn't seem to care that we'd waited so long.
Overall the food itself was great but the service was shockingly poor.
Great prices, great service, great food, all good.
A lovely bar, food was delicious. The beer!!! Not enough room here to do it justice... 😘
The fish and chips are epic. The burgers were great and the 'posher' plates went down very well. Food had always been good here, but they've really stepped things up.
The relaxed atmosphere and huge beer selection are excellent. Stephen and the team were really on their game this week. It won't be long before we are back!
great food good value with a buzz. lots going on and a lively place to be
My table was right beside the entrance, and thus it was a bit cold.
I and my friend both ordered the beef burger, but the patties were overcooked. It was even hard to cut with a knife. And since my table was right beside the entrance, the food we ordered became cold so fast.
I really love Drygate. The beer is great and the restaurant is lovely, but my visit last time was a little disappointing.
Drygate is a really good restaurant and bar. Very reasonable price and the food is always impressive.
We ordered “ tomato rosemary soup” were served creamy green soup which was very good. They changed the soup but never consulted us. It took over 15 minutes to get 2 half pints of beer, even though it was not busy. The vegetarian food that we ordered was good.
We found the music far too loud, impossible to have a conversation and the waitress disinterested and unfriendly. Food was OK but not stand out.
This place is a cross between a Brew Dog bar and an Innes and Gunn kitchen. Great beer and excellent food that's just a little bit different. We will definately be back.
Well worth a visit for good food, beer and as a live music venue.
Excellent evening in this wonderful brewery. Great food and great beers!
Great value especially on Hogmonay! Plenty of friendly staff.
My wife and I visited the Urban Market in the brewery and later had an EXCEPTIONAL meal in the brewhouse.
Add to that the good ales, wheelchair accessible premises and VERY courteous and helpful staff made our whole experience memorable
Will definitely be returning
Limited menu but what they have is wholesome and delicious
I often go to drygate as it's a favourite of my partner and I. However this time I took my cousin and although she had a very nice meal, my veggy obergine main was a bit cold and unseasoned. A real disappointment for such a great place to eat. Later we weren't asked if we wanted to see a menu for desert or coffee (our waiter had left for the evening) so we paid up and left. Usually superb- this time a disappointing Saturday evening.
This is the second time we have eaten here, giving it another go after such poor service (But good food) the first time. The waiting staff are on another planet wandering around chatting at the bar and cleaning cutlery when diners are sitting with empty plates. Also I do feel that waiting staff with long hair should have it tied back if serving or behind the bar!
On both visits no one asked us anything about our meals, or if we wanted another drink - no one approached the table after we were served our meals at all. In the end we had to get their attention just to ask them to take our plates away and order the kids ice cream.
This time one of our party found a bit of wood (bit of wooden skewer? maybe) and another unidentified small plastic article in the Turkey dish, we eventually told the waiting staff who didn't apologise until we left and paid the bill at the end, yes they did deduct the price of the Turkey dish from the menu, but no apology until we were leaving. In fact the staff avoided us altogether until we left. Incredible.
The turkey dish was not good anyway as our friend said was swamped in bacon, and the chipolatas had bacon round them too, it was all too much. Not a great effort for Christmas style dinner. Which is a shame as the fish and chips and burgers and kids food were all excellent.
The music was TOO LOUD for the dining area, and slightly erratic one minute Ian Jury and the Blockheads the next Christmas songs.
Id love to come back here but the service lets the place down, if you are doing table service you have to do it fully and not just a bit, maybe people are suppose to order drinks at the bar?
Excellent service. We were a table of 5 on a busy Sunday but servers were cheerful, helpful and made excellent suggestions regarding menu options.
Excellent food and drinks and great team of staff members!
Great place for lunch, it is in the city but away from the busy Glasgow streets. The food was delicious and there are plenty of beers to choose from, definitely worth a visit.
This is my 3rd visit, brilliant every time and the staff are fab too!
Really excellent food, best meal I’ve had in ages!
Great day out with my friend. My daughter is getting married here, can't wait.
A cracking night out.
Superb beer, excellent food and all round fantastic staff.
Saturday nights in Glasgow can be hellish...but Drygate is a notable exception.
Steak was poor, very chewy. Chicken burgers was nice. Good selection of beer
Great beer pub. Great food too. A must visit if you are kicking around that part of Glasgow.
Fantastic food and great service. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
Came here with my dad as a fathers’ day gift. Good food, good service, great beer.
Amazing burger as usual
Very nice restaurant in informal surroundings with good selection of beer in different glass sizes.
Wine is expensive.
Lovely lunch followed by a brewery tour - the food was lovely. Presentation was appetising to look at and taste didn’t disappoint.
If you like craft beer, this is the place for you. Great food, great ambiance and attentive staff. If you want a regular beer though, they dont have any. Whilst fine for most people, not all like craft beer -just be prepared, it is a craft brewery after all
A great little find for a beer tasting session. Food was excellent too.
Had a very good diner stack was lovely no complaints about food or services
The food was amazing and tough the vegetarian menu was small, they were very accommodating! Friendly and very helpful staff. The beer was also absolutely amazing, with a flavour for everyone. The tasting tray is great if you can't make up your mind.
