Our server ‘Rana’ was wonderful - pleasant, friendly and professional. Unfortunately, they were short staffed and our food was cold when we were served (by the manager ‘Ryan’) who was great. As we advised him of our meal being cold - he adjusted our bill accordingly and even gave us a dessert. We understand many restaurants are having staffing issues and we were treated very well and will return with no hesitation. Great service from the staff who waited on us. Thank you.
Excellent restaurant conveniently located off casino floor. Upscale ambience. The menu is a la carte but varied. My prime rib was delicious and cooked to perfection. My only dislike was quite a few items with horseradish to which I'm allergic. Pricing was consistent with the type of food and environment. Our server was very polite and helpful. I would recommend Duke's for anyone visiting the Casino or for a special occasion!
John was our server and was great. Very attentive, but not overly so. Prime Rib was 10/10. Most everything was; asparagus, cream corn, sole, wine, etc. Crab cakes fell short though.
I highly suggest this spot!
My birthday dinner. It was our first time there and we were very disappointed in the food. My wife had the scallops and they tasted and smelled very fishy and old. I had the chicken with Gruyere cheese. And it was edible .
The best part of the dinner was the bread and the waiter Bill, he was fantastic . Way overpriced and blah food.
We had a six friends gathering for a delicious dinner. Three of us had the fillets which were cooked perfectly and the other three had the stuffed fish or salmon and everything was delicious. Our waiter Terry was excellent. He was very attentive and very courteous.
It was obvious the server was having a bad shift. She roiled her eyes when I was ordering, she was slightly condescending & short. I tried being overly nice, which seemed to annoy her more.
After all this she put our order in wrong, totally forgot my husband’s steak order & also totally forgot the string bean side order. Although his steak was good, I was finished /my meal by the time it arrived.
The good news is they didn’t charge us for the steak. We were surprised & grateful.
I understand if someone is having a bad day, but you can’t be in a customer service oriented business, if you can’t hide your negatively.
Food was great but service was poor. A lot of money to be spent for frustration!
Great ambiance and fantastic service. Food was perfect and presentation superb.
It must be a season where they do not have experience staff
No knowledge of what tequila they had carpaccio was pretty good but I asked no cables came with capers my wife’s caulk chop came out here to see it on one side not even cooked on the other and the Apple chutney sauce that they had on it might as well been Motts applesauce
This was a first time visit for a birthday dinner. Our server, Terry, was fantastic couldn’t have asked for better. The food was delicious from the bread, apps, dinner, straight through to the cheesecake that they bought for me for my birthday. We will definitely be back when in the area again.
Great place! Steaks, seafoods, salads all very good. Server was excellent!
Good food but be prepared to spend a lot per meal as everything is a la carte.
It was noisy. Be sure to request a quiet seating arrangement unless you're okay with the noise.
Wait staff was good. Nothing over the top which one might expect in a higher end steakhouse.
the food, presentation and dining room all were above expectations
Appreciated that Dukes offered a menu related to the Schenectady Restaurant Week. Excellent means of trying a new restaurant.
Will come back.
It was our first time dining here and it was absolutely great. Staff and service were outstanding. Highly recommended. We will definitely come back.
Having eaten there many times for lunch wanted to go there for dinner. It was our wedding anniversary and we had made a reservation weeks before knowing it is track season . Our waitress took our drink order and then disappeared for 15 minutes only to come back with bread and butter , we then received our drinks and ordered . Our appetizers came out about 15 minutes later and my husbands lobster appetizer was Luke warm but we just let it go as we did not want to ruin the experience 1 hour later we finally asked where our entrees were as people seated after us were eating, she apologized and said she would send the manage over as she had been trying to get our order , the manager came over with an attitude and told us that they had lost the dupe but it had only been 57 minutes, I asked how this was my problem and asked what he was going to do about ie and his exact words were he was going to give us carrot cake . Finally he came out with our entrees and sides which were ice cold , l then asked to see his boss but eventually he came back over and I told him to take the dinners off our check and give us a bill for our drinks and appetizers. He left and then cam back and told us there was no bill. I understand that mistakes happen but own up to it and apologize don’t give customers an attitude when you are clearly in the wrong
Our server Mark was wonderful the food was excellent would definitely go again
A very nice restaurant to celebrate a special occasion as we did for our 40th wedding anniversary. Our server was exceptional—she even brought us a special dessert!
Food was delicious. Huge portions! Excellent service!
First time at this restaurant. We sat at a nice table with a view of the river. My Wife and I had seafood dishes, which were outstanding. We will be back again soon.
Exceptional service from Terry. Large prime rib and filet with corn were both excellent. Highly recommend. Attached to the Casino.
Everything was great except antipasto chopped salad was almost entirely lettuce. One tiny piece of cheese, one tiny piece of salami and half of a cherry tomato and two rings of yellow pepper, the rest was lettuce for 16 dollars. Won't be getting that again. Filet, potatoes and spinach were excellent. You need to work on salad.
The calamari was overcooked to the point of hard/chewy, but we ate it all still. My steak was cooked medium well instead of medium but still had good flavor
Absolutely the best prime rib around....
Duke's has excellent food. Although it is expensive, it is definitely worth a special night out.
Food was not as good as expected and prices were above average. Server was good, but didn't know the facts about the meals and drinks.
It was a wonderful meal and a wonderful evening. The waiter, John, was delightful and very friendly. I did wonder, quite honestly, how any restaurant could tun out of one of the main ingredients of their weekly special for that day by 6:30, but the substitution worked very well and the dish didn’t suffer. I can only assume that was a fluke due to some unanticipated occurrence in the kitchen. Overall, it was very good and I would recommend this restaurant.
John who served us did an excellent job . Live music was good.
First Time at Dukes was very happy with everything, Service and Food Quality were both Very Good - Will definitely go back.
Very good food and service.
Very good food
We went to Dukes to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere was excellent and we were seated in a nice private booth. Terri was our server and she was terrific! We both ordered filets and they were cooked to our liking. We shared a Caesar salad and mashed potatoes. Both had great flavors! Terri even comped our dessert, carrot cake, since it was our anniversary!
Thank you! We will definitely be back!
Overpriced food that was just ok
Always a great experience at Dukes! Terry G’s service was impeccable, and she even remembered each guests name. Dukes is always one of our “go to” places for our special occasions and even every day dining!
My wife and I visited Duke's while on a quick anniversary getaway to Rivers Casino. This was our "special" anniversary meal.
We had a 7:45 reservation and waited about 5 minutes after checking in with the hostess to be seated. After being seated it took about 15 minutes to be acknowledged by our waiter. It was obvious that the restaurant was short staffed but the 15 minutes gave us enough time to figure out what we wanted to drink and eat.
My pre-dinner cocktail was the NY Sour. HIGHLY recommended. Perfectly balanced and delicious! I had the fried lobster appetizer which was amazing. Just perfect. My wife had the Caesar salad which I had a bite of and it was very good.
Entrées took quite a while to come out. Both my wife and I had the 8oz filet, cooked medium. I opted for the "Oscar Style" and I am so glad I did. This took what was already an amazing filet and brought it to the next level. The crab was tender and flavorful, a great addition to the tender filet. We had the double butter mashed potatoes and sautéed wild mushrooms. Both sides were excellent. With my entrée I had a glass of Conundrum Red Blend, a perfect accompaniment to the steak. We were asked about any special occasions when we made a reservation. Since we mentioned it was our anniversary they gave us a complimentary (huge) slice of cheesecake for dessert. What a nice touch!
There was absolutely nothing to fault about the food. One of the best meals we have had in quite some time. Regarding the service, the individual workers are doing the best they can given the circumstances and the fact the place was obviously short staffed. Our waiter Terrance was an absolute rock star with what he was able to accomplish, just one man doing so much. He really seemed to care about our experience. Unfortunately, the behavior I saw from other guests was disappointing. Lots of rudeness directed toward the staff when they are doing the best they can given the circumstance.
Dukes Chophouse gets a big A+ from me!
Ribeye was excellent. Had a side of creamed spinach. Blue point oysters and shrimp cocktail were so delicious. A nice bottle of red. Perfect meal.
Had an amazing dinner the steak I ordered was absolutely gorgeous. Our waiter was great very attentive. Over all a great experience!
Lobster tails came out raw. Twice !!
On the seafood spectacular meal.
Said forget it. They comped us two drinks.
Never had that happen before. The waiter was shocked when we showed the tails .. twice ..
Perfect food, great service, wonderful ambience.
short on wait staff - waiter was rushing around. table by piano was too loud and music wasnt anything to enjoy
