Thanks Dukes for the lovely birthday dinner. I am sorry that your dining room is closed now. I will return when this crisis is resolved
Always great food. One of our favorite places to eat.
Amazing as always. Our server was friendly and kind.
Flavorful and creatively cooked food; terrific service; lovely view; relaxed atmosphere. We couldn't have had a better dining experience.
The food was excellent & the server was kind & knowledgeable. We always return to Dukes .
Our waiter made our dining experience very enjoyable. He may have simply bedn a skilled actor or perhaps he's a genuinely happy extrovert. Either way, he was exceptionally jovial and attentive. The food was only fair. (potatoes were overcooked the salmon was moderately good.) Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our drinks; the view and the service!
We did lunch early in a Sunday so the place was empty when we arrived. Staff was attentive and food was flavorful and well prepared. We did not go away hungry but price was a tad over my satisfaction of the entire experience. Volume was increasing as the regular lunch rush began as we were finishing up. Great views of the Tacoma waterfront.
The Duke's in Tacoma on the waterfront is by far my favorite location. From the time we sat until we finished every bite our food and service were outstanding. Alex, our server, was polite, professional, and attentive. It was a wonderful meal and moment.
Food was delicious. The seafood was very fresh and perfectly prepared. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Good lively atmosphere. The only negative comment would be that the scallops were small for the price.
Love the water front views. Great service and food as always.
Great food, excellent service. Fabulous view
Always a lovely time at Duke’s!
would not go if I didn't like it. Friends give me Duke's gift cards, have a couple of favorites and should try other dishes, staff really have the drill down no wasted moments, efficient. Have noticed some staff have been there for years. Always a good sign.
Duke's is always a hit with our family due to the consistent quality and great service. Rockfish tacos, original clam chowder in a bread bowl, and the Wild Child Salad are our go to items. The BlackBerry cobbler is an excellent finish to any meal. Definitely join their loyalty program!
Hands down the best clam chowder I've ever had. Will definitely be back for that. Fish tacos were amazing too! Appetizers are a bit pricey for what you get though.
The waitress we had on Thurs, 2/20 (group of 5) 6:30 reservation, is THE BEST I’ve EVER encountered and I don’t remember her name. She knows her stuff and her service to us should be commended!
The waitress was wonderful and the food was amazing.
Great food. But the gentleman serving us was awesome. Great recommendations and an outstanding attitude the whole time. Will definitely come again.
I bookwd online through open table. I asked for a quiet table because it was a very special occasion but yet once again I got seated next to a table with loud children who kept popping over the back of the seat it was very distracting and annoying....
Dukes is always amazing!!!! The food is delicious and the service is beyond great! Our server Wade was exceptional! Highly recommended
Dukes is phenomenal for fresh seafood and their rockin' tacos and angry pollock are prime examples of the best you can eat on the waterfront! Their carrot cake is yummy to share with fresh brewed coffee.
Upon entering, you automatically feel welcome from the uber friendly and inviting staff led by Brett -- throughout the entire dining experience; our server, Dawn, was excellent!
Join their e-mail club -- it's well worth it!
I had cioppino soup for lunch and the portion was really small for a $22 value. Taste was ok, nothing special.
The food and view were excellent. The Salmon, Fish and Chips and Clam Chowder were all great. Tasty. My issue was with the way we ordered drinks. I ordered a Scotch on the rocks and the waitress asked if I wanted a double. I said yes. Later I ordered another. When I got the bill, I was shocked with a bill for $56 just for Scotch. Apparently, unlike every other restaurant I have been to in the last 30 years, they charge double for a double instead of charging a few bucks more than a single. I can still get a single at a lot of restaurants and get as good a pour as with this double. Even the airport only charges a few bucks more for a double and their prices are jacked up. Yes some restaurants only give you a small shot for a single price. But if you are going to charge double for a double, you really should notify the customer that it will cost double. The price for my Copper River Salmon dinner ($36), I thought was competitively priced. But my wife ordered Fish and Chips. Two pieces. Yes they are good size pieces, but this is still Fish and Chips which they sell for $25. The cost of their Clam Chowder is also marked way up. $11.90 for a 6 ounce small bowl. Then $17.90 for a 12 ounce bowl. Wow - it is good, but soup shouldn't cost that much. I can get a cup for $7 and bowl for $9 at Ivar's which makes pretty darn good chowder as well. You all know what 6 ounces is - Half of a can of soda. Not very much. For $12??
So overall, we had a good time, good food, great view, nice service (except for not warning me about double scotch), but I question the prices as I described above.
My wild salmon, the "Marry Me with Hop Scotch Butterscotch" was delicious. The service was impeccable, the margarita was yummy. Definitely will go back. It was a very busy Valentine Day lunch and yet the service was prompt and attentive. Good job Duke's!
The music was not pleasant that they had playing, mostly loud bass and unintelligible. Overall the atmosphere was too loud. I don't mind some noise and understand that but when it is so loud that you cannot converse easily at your table that is too loud.
My wife and I celebrated my birthday with another couple on Sunday afternoon. Our server Alex was outstanding as he guided us through menu selections and anticipated our every need. The clam chowder was amazing as always and then all of us feasted on cod and Copper River salmon. We topped off a perfect experience with delightful desserts. Highly recommended.
From the moment we entered the host was very welcoming he gave us a perfect table by the window the service was speedy and very pleasant and the food was really good the salmon I had was copper river salmon and it was the best I’ve ever had! The potatoes and zucchini were perfectly done. It was a little pricey so will save it for special occasions.
We were celebrating our daughter’s concert choir win! We had the most fabulous server, the best we’ve had at Dukes-Alicia B!
The food was delicious, as usual.
I absolutely love the food and they accommodate people with Celiac Disease. I haven't had clam chowder in over a decade and loved it. Highly recommend...
Excellent food. Excellent staff/service. Somewhat slow food service.
Excellent food in a great location. We all had something different, and two of the three of us need gluten free choices. I think Dukes has the most array of GF options. Our server was great, too. So sorry I didn't make a note of her name.
I have never been disappointed at Dukes and am already planning another trip for the best seafood in the area.
Amazing food, great service and a beautiful location! Couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner!
Great evening. Wait staff was excellent and food was awesome.
Some of the best chowder in the world and bread...world class service....
My spouse and I had a birthday lunch and ordered cod and chips plus a Dungeness Crab salad. Both luncheon entrees were prepared to perfection. Service was attentive and a nice table with waterfront view on a stormy day. Early lunch so the restaurant was quiet and could have good conversation and leisurely lunch. Really like that the fish was prepared with a light coating and not over cooked. Thank you.
