At Dumplings’ Legend, they greatly respect this tiny parcel of yummy goodness, sticking to traditional methods but adding a twist. Spicy pork and spicy crayfish may not be new to you – perhaps you’ve had it with rice or in a soup, but in a soup dumpling known in Chinese as a Xiaolongbao? We thought not. That’s because these guys are the first to come up with this clever filling idea and it’s gone down a treat.
But that’s just two of nine options you’ll find on their taste-tingling menu, plus an impressive 47 variations of the much-loved dim sum. All made in their open-plan, glass-walled, kitchen before your very eyes.
In fact, their dumplings are so loved that they make an incredible 8,000 every day – if you were to stack them up, The Shard would cower in their towering shadow.
So, whatever shape and size you’re into, you can bet your bottom dumpling there’ll be something just right for you.

Shocking. This booking service doesn’t even exist to then apparently.. and they’re service in general was RUDE!
Good food as always. Not sure it’s worth booking as we still had to join the Q so defeated the reason we booked a table at a set time
No point making a reservation for Sunday lunch on OpenTable as they will make you join the queue anyway. That cost us 45mins.
Try and get table.in the front room as the back is pretty cramped and miserable with much less attentive service.
You out up with it because food is great. Some of the best.
Booking system doesn't work- were made to queue for 30 mins outside despite having booking. Was very expensive for what it was and pretty bleak/loud inside
I never got to go to this restaurant which was supposed to be for my daughter’s 12th birthday because when I called the day before I was told that it doesn’t take or honor Ooen Table reservations! But Open Table just keeps taking them anyway and then asks for a review like this.
On arrival our booked table was not ready and there appeared to be no booking systems being looked at at all. We were put in a queue and when we asked again about our booked table the gentleman on the door replied ‘he can’t magic tables up’ it was rude
My friend and I booked there for dinner and when we arrived there they told us to queue with the other people that didn’t have a booking and the waiter was extremely rude when telling us that. As a matter of fact we left and decided to go dine somewhere else.
Despite having a reservation we were ignored by the staff for 20 minutes. The manager at the main desk was rude and dismissive to ourselves and four other people also waiting despite tables being available. Once sat down the service was fairly quick and the food was nice enough. Service definitely needs improving
Very nice food but staff were extremely rude and we had to line up for 40 minutes despite having a reservation.
Booking was pointless, we were made to wait in a queue in the rain and never asked if we had a booking. After being seated, we waited fifteen minutes with no service, then the next table arrived and was served within a minute. The food finally arrived in random order with no explanation The waiter had a dripping nose which he kept wiping with his hand while serving plates of food. The food was good, but not worth such awful service. They appear to despise customers, and we should have walked away at the first sign.
Said all bookings on open table were lost, which I failed to believ, long line outside in the rain so forced to head elsewhere.
Didn't have our booked table ready and had to queue behind walk in customers in the rain outside. Food was okay, but far from the best.
Average overpriced dumplings. Would find somewhere better
Awful. We booked at table for 1.30 arrived and there was a queue we were told we had to queue as people book and cancel all the time and they don't hold tables for bookings! It was pouring with rain and we were not prepared to queue so we went somewhere else and had a fantastic meal. They are rude and shouldn't be using open table if they won't honour your booking.
You cannot book over open table so we had to wait to be seated. We ended up waiting 20 mins after our booking time. Luckily food was worth the wait.
Even if you book, no guarantee of a table. Dreadful service!
Good wholesome food
Whats the point of booking a table when you have to queue up with those that haven’t booked a table. Also, being told to sit outside, right next to where everyone queue’s up was so annoying because it was super loud outside (saturday night) and the seats felt like there going to collapse. Food was average. They kept bringing other table orders to our table and forgot to bring half of our food. We had to remind them that certain dishes haven’t arrived. Dysfunctional!!
Despite booking a month in advance we were put inside, in a very noisy room and with zero social distance. Tables are crammed, maybe 10 inches away from each other. Food was mediocre, the wine list is outrageously expensive and the service was really, really bad. Rude staff (mostly) and no patience to explain food or menu options. We had the vegetarian tasting menu. It's a lot of food but quite bad. The dumplings were very disappointing. I really wonder why they are listed as one of the top options for dumplings in London because they are not.
Great food and good value, but the restaurant is not honouring OpenTable bookings. We had to queue outside like anyone else.
We had our plates cleaned while still eating … but the food is amazing!
Full of people, waiters push you to eat fast and leave for the next table. Dumplings are just "okay".
Great quality dumplings and food was excellent.
Excellent Dim Sum, Dumplings & Boa Buns, large choice, all were excellent that we had. Plus regular dishes excellent.
These are some amazing dim sum places in that area. Unfortunately we picked the wrong one this time.
Delicious food, great service and nice at atmosphere
Having been here numerous times before, I thought it was a good choice. Standards have sadly slipped though. Beware, they DON'T recognise confirmed OpenTable reservations!! Rude Maitre d' , and we had to wait in line for 15 minutes. Service was slow and inattentive. Air-conditioning was freezing, cooled the food too quickly and made everyone cold, blasting away. Faint tang of bleach in the air in the main dining room was off-putting. maybe some might find this comforting but the restaurant didn't seem particularly spotless for it. Table badly set, and we had to ask several times for the right number of plates and chopsticks. Food was okay, although the crispy squid was stodgily coated and tasteless, my official taste test for dim sum. We all agreed the turnip cake was decent but tasted strangely of strawberries. Fried flat noodles with beef were tasty. Worst though was the chicken stew noodle soup - watery broth, overcooked noodles and plain boiled chicken which was tasteless, soggy and overcooked, served with a highly inappropriate, useless tiny spoon. Avoid it! Spicy pork steamed dumplings were slightly tough and leathery. With a 12.5% obligatory service charge, it was inexcusable to not top up teapots, even when requested. Also in these strange times of government debt it felt off to be offered a 10% discount to pay in cash. Sad this place has deteriorated so much. There's a lot of competition and next time I might just choose to try somewhere else.
Great dumplings, rest of the food was just alright. We were seated upstairs in an annex which was rather soulless. Dumplings were good value, we thought the rest of the food was priced quite aggressively.
Great place for dim sum!
In abs out kind of feel to it.
Amazing food! Went for my Mum’s birthday and she loved it.
Really tasty fresh dumplings and quick service.
The best in Chinatown! Beautiful hand made dumplings & delicious mains - all at a brilliant price,
The food was good but the servers stressed us out by constantly clearing the plates / baskets when we weren’t done eating.
Staff was kind to let us in earlier than booking, food was served fast and piping hot. Service was really good and food was super yummy. An Asian is saying this by the way. Value for money too!
Came especially for the dumplings but vey limited choice. The dumpling batter was thick and stodgy. Will not be returning
Good food. Service ok.
Super nice 👍🏼
Outstanding food highly recommended
