unforgettable experience of hospitality. Our menu showcases the breadth and depth of
cuisine from the region and beyond, designed for sharing and creating a feeling of
warmth in the belly and the heart.
Our vision is to be a vital centerpiece in Oakland and to build a culture of warmth,
inclusivity and community in the area through the gift of Arab hospitality. Through the
power of food, we want to enrich people’s understanding and appreciation of Arab
cuisine and culture and all it has to offer in the Bay Area.
I hardly ever write reviews but felt I had to. What a great meal we had. Everything was fresh and delicious and the service really couldn't have been better. Five of us shared mostly small plates and one entree. We had cocktails to start and a wonderful Lebanese white wine to accompany our meal (recommended by the fabulous hostess). Everything was excellent!!
Love the food and cocktails here - high end middle eastern fare that never disappoints!
This is a very special restaurant. One of my favorites ever!
Delicious food- wonderful service and staff!
Solid restaurant overall and great service. We really enjoyed the egg plant entree and lmb hummus
with only one visit thus far, one cannot be definitive but on first impression, this is restaurant is a real find and we plan on returning -
possibly the best roasted brussels sprouts this couple has ever tasted and an out-of-this-world roasted chicken confit -
Great food, with a tasty twist on the Mediterranean recipes. good sized portions. glad we didn't order everything the waiter suggested. We were stuffed and since we were traveling we couldn't have taken any home with us.
Sarah, our server was wonderful. The bartender made fantastic cocktails and even brought them to our table. The food was delicious. I’ll definitely come back. We ordered the chicken and sea bass entrees were great and the dips and small plates were even better.
Great food, wonderful service beautiful restaurant.
Wonderful food and service. I'm Lebanese- and I so appreciated the combination of authenticity with the unexpected/special feeling of the dishes.
We sat the chef's counter and our server ended-up being the bartender. His lack of service and competency as a server was palpable from the beginning. He didn't know much about the new tasting menu that was introduced and we had to ask to speak to someone else to get the full scoop on it. The sea bass cost an extra $5/person but this wasn't indicated on the menu. The entree actually came-in before the appetizer - Battata hara (spicy potatoes) - because they had forgotten about it and we had to remind them about it. This was our 3rd time at Dyafa and I must say that this experience was so disappointing that this will most likely be the last. The food was average and a poor value for what we got.
Food over priced for quality. $17 for hummus with chunks of lamb fat not even fat on top. Very disappointing experience
Hits on all cylinders; drinks, food and service were all top notch. Clean flavors, and healthy taste.
I used to love this restaurant and brought folks all the time, the quality of the food and the integrity of being truly Syrian or even middle eastern is gone, there are apples in the salad, sticky toffee pudding on the dessert menu. Reem's spirit feels lost now. Additionally, the portions are a fraction of what they used to be. The fish used to be a whole fish and now it's a teeny piece.
The restaurant is comfortable and interesting. The staff were attentive and friendly. Cocktails very tasty and food delicious. We loved all the salads and the falafel was exceptional! The portions were average to smaller. It was a wonderful experience, but a bit overpriced for the small portions.
Dyafa met and surpassed my expectations. First of all Sarah was fantastic and was very knowledgeable of the menu. She was very accommodating and polite. The food was outstanding, but first the wine was straight from the west bank of Palestine. Very flavorful, smooth bodied and fruity. A mixed pickled veggie plate was served with a plate of olives, We ordered for appetizers: Zatar manakish, brussels sprouts with yogurt and eggpant mutabal and pita......all simply outstanding. Entree we had family style- Arak battered sea-bass and Makluba..........Outstanding and can't wait to return, We also met with the chef, Mona Leena and what i say. Her vision capped our evening. Great food and ambiance that I highly recommend
Great food and atmosphere. Worth the price.
Food was so-so, noise level was ear splitting. A big disappointment overall.
Love this place! The food is amazing! It’s becoming one of our favorite places!
Dinner was delicious. Lamb shank big enough for 2. Roasted eggplant and pita was great. Squid dish also good
Great experience, food and service.
We went to Dyafa for a bit of a celebration and, aside from being slightly difficult to find once we got over to Jack London Square, had an excellent experience. We shared the chickpea pancake, Labneh, Halloumi and fried Brussels sprouts from the Mezze sections and the "fish and chips" entree. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent and attentive and we were comped the Kenafah for dessert. We will definitely be going back to try more of the menu and would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Really unique dining experience in Oakland. Great Mediterranean food and cocktails.
Glad to have tried this place out in my own backyard.
Amazing u inquest Mediterranean food experience!
First visit to Dyafa and we found the food outstanding. We shared the whole menu of small plates and enjoyed each one.
5 stars in general. This place is perfect. Food is great! Drinks can be a little slow coming out for large tables. drinks could also be a little more spirit forward, but what do I know! Go and enjoy.
Waiter was so helpful and sweet.
Lovely ladies dinner. Great craft cocktails, nice wine selection based upon the middle eastern cuisine. Beautiful space and the staff are incredibly attentive Michelin quality! The good is delicious and fresh- probably some of the best hummus in town. Pitas are house made and so flavorful. Dinner for three was a sharing of 4 small plates, 1 entree, two deserts and a lot love.
Salad was really salty and made with cheap vinegar. Barely eatable. Lamb was a bit chewy not seasoned very well. Desert was also weird. Tasted more like Mac and cheese than desert. Sorry, really wanted to like it.
We usually have a good experience, but this time was much different. Service, timelines, food etc. I don’t think we will be going back again.
Upon entrance, the fragrance made my nose and mouth very excited!! Wow! Gorgeous food and presentation. Will definitely return when I’m hungry. It’s a splurge, but worth every penny!
We went to Dyafa on a Saturday night during restaurant week and had a fantastic meal. The food was amazing. Our servers were lovely, busy but not harried. The music and atmosphere were perfect. Definitely our new favorite spot.
Worth the trip from SFO on Friday of a 3-Day weekend and Bay Bridge & Toll. Go now. It was fantastic.
We went as a group because it was Restaurant Week in Oakland. I was very disappointed to see their offering was $55 dinner, no bargain over the daily menu.
Food was all very tasty; especially appetizer dips. I'm tired of paying $13 for a 6 ounce cocktail.
Fantastic food and atmosphere! Great for sharing tapas style with friends.
Excellent, delicious food, imaginatively conceived and perfectly executed, served by friendly staff in a very pleasant atmosphere, with a well-chosen soundtrack of Arab music playing audibly but unintrusively in the background. Even familiar things were better done than usual. In short, mabrouk!
Great food....interesting, authentic flavors. Especially recommended for explorers of international cuisine.
Nice view of the marina. Lots of seating. GREAT menu and delicious lunch. Definitely making the trip to the East bay again just to have lunch or dinner here.
The food was delicious and the service was very good.
