Dyllan's Raw Bar Grill
Our regional American cuisine features a modern raw bar, as well as a grill menu highlighting fresh seafood, steaks, and vegetarian dishes crafted with the finest ingredients.
The restaurant—housed in a circa-1890s warehouse built from locally quarried stone and exposed Virginia “iron wood” heart pine timbers—is modern while celebrating the building’s industrial past. The restaurant’s outdoor seating overlooks the historic and picturesque C & O Canal.
Here at Dyllan’s, we pride ourselves on working with local purveyors and artisans that adhere to rigorous sustainable standards.
Close Proximity to Georgetown U, George Washington U, Horward U and American.
We look forward to the privilege of serving you.

It’s CLOSED. For good. And Open Table still let us make a reservation. Which then stranded us in Georgetown on a Friday night with no reservation. There is clearly no communication between Open Table and it’s restaurants.
Very good, nice environment but very expensive
Great options, wonderful service and great food. This clearly is a keeper and quieter than most restaurants in Georgetown. You can have a normal conversation at the table.
This restaurant is stunning. Food is amazing. Managers were so helpful and very hospitable. Octopus was delicious. I’m still craving it. Great portions and great price. I love this place. It’s unfortunate that there is construction everywhere. I would’ve loved to sit outside.
The server was awful but the manager came in for the win by being amazing, polite and attentive.
Had a great lunch and love the charm of Dyllan’s Raw Bar. The three course $20 lunch is an excellent way to try out lots of menu items. The Thai mussels were delicious. Will definitely be back and make this a neighborhood favorite~
Really indifferent service, although attempted service recovery from manager. Place was empty, but staff did not seem to want to be there, or provide the basic levels of service. Appetizer and entree served within 90 sec, long wait for drinks with only two other tables occupied. Would not return.
Food was excellent as always. Server seemed a bit rushed and picked up plates before a couple of guests were ready. All in all, a great food experience.
WOW JUST WOW. I dont think my night could've gone any better. It started off as just drinks and we stayed for a full meal and desserts. Initially, walking in we didnt realize how big the place is and was pleasantly surprised at the cozy space by the fire. Our waiter was very friendly and guided us right through delicious drinks and an excellent meal. We ended up getting the tuna tar tar and the grilled octopus followed by the dry aged rib eye and that excessively neccessary 5 layer chocolate cake that could probably feed half of georgetown...WOW. Just absolutely wow. Again, I highly recommend. Thank you for the night and I cant wait to come back.
Made our first trip to Dyllan's two week's ago. We found that the previous reviews on this site and other sites are spot on. The food is very good; the servers are attentive; the dining experience and pace need a lot of work. If they did better job of managing the kitchen, this has the potential to be a great restaurant. Our appetizers arrived at different times; one came from the kitchen and one came from the raw bar (different ends of the restaurant). They should be able to coordinate this. The entrees showed up before I had finished my raw bar appetizer...??? They should be able to coordinate this.
Was such a surprise to be taken care of so well. Greeted by someone so welcoming. Really felt special. For a rainy day was pretty busy...
We loved the tower of crab. Seafood, burger and sides were delicious. Layered chocolate cake was decadent. Check this place out if in Georgetown- great food and ambiance!
Food and atmosphere was very good although slightly overpriced. Despite good reviews, on a lovely Thursday night at 7:30 there were only 5 tables occupied.
Out waitress was very pleasant and very slow. We weren't able to order cocktails until the manager approached us and took the order. Appetizers and entries were slow in coming. My wife ordered a pasta dish and asked for parmesan cheese. Instead of bringing a small side dish the waitress took the plate back to the kitchen and added cheese herself. We also had to ask for the salt and pepper.
Overall experience ---- less than expected.
I held a party for 30 people at Dyllans they went out of their way to insure every detail was perfect. They accommodated our dietary requests with ease. We had a great time and are looking forward to another event.
It was a cold rainy day yet this restaurant warmed us with fabulous food and excellent service. The fresh crab roll was amazing. The crab cake crisp on the outside yummy on the inside, but the shrimp, crab, and lobster omelettes were full of seafood and fluffy. Our son is at school here and we can’t wait to return on our next trip. Go and discover this gem in Georgetown!! You won’t be disappointed.
Food was great, this was our third visit. We sat on a cozy table. The restaurant was very busy and at this cozy table it was just perfect. Can’t wait for another experience at Dyllan’s.
The food was very good. The kitchen sent food out at random times. Sides came out after entrees were gone. Our waiter hustled but staffing was obviously short. We like crackers, not oyster crackers, with oysters and it was strange we couldn’t get those. Repeatedly had to ask for things. Food was good. Comfort was horrible. If I am spending $400 for dinner for 4 people (without alcohol) then a comfortable chair is really expected. The hard small chairs that slide across the floor were bad. The ridge around the chairs dug into me and finally I used my coat as a chair cushion. The cushioned bar stools were far better. Invest in chairs. The six layer chocolate cake could feed four and was soooo good. Oysters were fabulous! The steak was very very tender. The Mac n cheese while it looked green and different was delicious with avocado! Mashed potatoes were buttery and thick and delicious. The tuna roll was creamy and delicious.
Second time we have been here and won't be the last. Came to celebrate getting a new job and were congratulated by the staff which was very nice. And the quality of the food matches the quality of the service. Top notch to say the least.
Great Staff, very friendly and accommodating. Good place, on the quieter side.
Love this place! The staff is amazing and the food is also. You won’t be disappointed!
Went there for a client lunch. Nice place, good service & food. Would definitely go again.
Amazing outside back patio. Loved the variety in the menu. The service was outstanding.
Sat inside near the fireplace. Was so cozy. Food was fantastic and staff kind and helpful. I’ll be back.
Great Service. Great Drinks. Amazing food! Best Deal in Georgetown! I’ll be back
Awesome as usual. Best restaurant in DC! we love Dyllans!
My wife and I love this place the food is always perfect and the atmosphere is great. The service is always friendly and done with a personal touch. We like to go here either before or after shows at the Kennedy Center it is only a 10 minute walk. I hope you enjoy this restaurant as much as we do.
It was my husbands 50th Birthday and I put this on my reservation. We went with our two daughters. We were asked if we preferred a table or cozy booth. We chose the booth and the ambiance and comfort was nice. Someone came by to mention about our special occasion so I was glad they knew. Then we noticed others around us had excellent service but we had one waiter and were somehow being switched between two waiters. We ordered drinks and appetizers to start. My sangria which was supposed to be citris and berries had zero berries and tasted too citrus. When I mentioned it, I was without a drink for a very long time and had to ask for the waiter. Our appetizers were served without small plates so we had to eat from the bowl until we asked. We finished our appetizers but the girls were hungry and we were waiting. Others got served bread but we didn’t until we had to ask twice. When I finally got my drink, it had one berry but I was told due to the wait, it was on them. Our other waiter came by later to ask about my drink and I told him honestly it was just okay. He did bring me another drink and then we had a long wait til our meal. Finally the food came out and it was amazing! Perhaps our experience would be good going on. We ordered dessert and I thought they would put a candle in the dessert for my husband. They did not so I figured it was too fancy of a place for that... Except as we were paying the check, the other table in front of us, the waiter brought a beautiful huge piece of cake with a candle, and the table started singing Happy Birthday! How disappointing on such a special occasion. On the check, I noticed we weren’t charged for drinks or dessert but in the end, it wasn’t the experience we wanted. It just unfortunate that we got stuck with staff that may not have been the regular wait staff at our table while others right in front of us got excellent service.
Welcoming and friendly staff, we came at a very slow day so there were just a handful of people that night.
Food was great, we had the outdoor seating with the perfect weather. Thank you
Very enjoyable. If you like oysters and sea food, you will really like Dyllan's. West Coast
oysters were excellent and the crab cake and octopus was very good. Just a delightful place.
Stopped in for dinner after work. Was fantastic. What a great place. Great food, fantastic atmosphere and kind staff. Will be back soon.
Oysters not fresh. Prepared and cooked food was good.
Fantastic service, amazing handcrafted cocktails, and delicious food.
We were so impressed with the dinner we had there that we went back the very next day for brunch, and they knocked it out of the park again!
Best place in Georgetown!
There was a rat on the exterior. True story
CJwpb-We are very sorry you saw a rat outside of the building. Dyllan's along with the building owner, the Georgetown BID and the city of Washington DC all work to combat the rat issue particularly along the 200+ year old C&O canal which is park land. This is also due to the canal renovations currently happening. We are very sorry as this clearly effected your evening. Unfortunately, we can not control all of the area outside.
One of the best dinner experiences my wife and I have ever had!
Dyllan's food is excellent, prices reasonable for the dishes, location along the canal also excellent.
The linguini and clams, grilled octopus and lamb chop were all superb. Definitely recommended.
Service is a bit off, but could easily be improved, i.e. drinks should be served before your food arrives, bread should also arrive before or with the food...not a big deal.
The restaurant is quiet, too quiet for a Saturday night. Really not sure why. It deserves to be full and busy.
Had a lovely time was good girl friends. Food was great portions, Absolutely delicious food, drinks perfect and helpful friendly staff! I’ll be back tonight with my husband. I think I’m your biggest fan.. thank you Dyllan’s staff.. I truly enjoyed everything!
Restaurant seemed stale, the food was poor with the exception of the soup. We had several small plates and all were below par. We ordered what our waiter claimed was their specialty, looking back I think that was just a rehearsed sell.
At 8 on a Saturday night the place was almost empty. Seems the place has some issues and I would suggest not going here.
We sat outside overlooking the canal and it was a great ambiance for a Saturday evening dinner. The food was delicious and cocktails were also fantastic. Really great quality seafood and attentive, knowledgable service. I was shocked by the lack of customers for a peak time on a Saturday evening. I suppose they don't receive too much foot traffic being back near the canal, but I'm hoping their food, service and atmosphere will bring more in and increase the energy in the place.
