Dyllan's Raw Bar Grill
Our regional American cuisine features a modern raw bar, as well as a grill menu highlighting fresh seafood, steaks, and vegetarian dishes crafted with the finest ingredients.
The restaurant—housed in a circa-1890s warehouse built from locally quarried stone and exposed Virginia “iron wood” heart pine timbers—is modern while celebrating the building’s industrial past. The restaurant’s outdoor seating overlooks the historic and picturesque C & O Canal.
Here at Dyllan’s, we pride ourselves on working with local purveyors and artisans that adhere to rigorous sustainable standards.

Incredible seafood/raw bar. Really great brunch spot. Way better then the mediocre waterfront restaurants with tons of tourist and really bad staff. Dyllan's is way cool and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The outdoor seating was the best quiet and away from the street and all the Italian places. This place is due to blow up as the best brunch spot in DC! Look forward to trying dinner.
Best outdoor dining in Georgetown. Great for business lunch and dinner. The place is big but has tons of charm. Food was exceptional! Server said they just started a burger for under $10. West coast oysters were fresh. I highly recommend trying this place if your in DC. We need one of these in Chicago.
Fanatastic business lunch location. Service was best in the city. They have a new menu. Grill barramundi tacos were incredible. Great job! Best restaurant in the area particularly for the price.
We came here with a party of four during a workday. While everyone was friendly from the hostess to the waitstaff, everything was extremely slow. The restaurant was not crowded (maybe a handful of tables) but everything took so long to arrive at the table. One of my guests ordered a coffee- which had to be brewed, and two of us asked for a ice tea plus a water....the water never came despite a few repeated asks. The coffee came when the lunch was served- nearly 30 min later and was never refilled. One of my guests ordered the burger- which was delicious but had no ketchup/mayo/mustard, etc. Requesting just mayo took the server so long that other guests food became cold as we were trying to wait patiently for everyone to eat at once. The atmosphere is nice and the food is good but timing is a major issue, especially when I would assume many customers only have limited time during a work day.
Good food, poor service. We were a large group of 11 and had to argue for a long time for them to split the bill unequally for us even though we asked for this before we ordered (ranging from 30-80 dollars a equally split bill is not very helpful). At the end 20% service charge were added to all 11 bills also without asking...
Very nice ambiance, great server and good food. We celebrated Fathers day and my Dad's birthday there. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect restaurant!
Great food. Avocado Mac and cheese was unique. Sitting outside was nice
Our reservation was at 7:15. We ordered appetizers and entrees. It took more than an hour to get our appetizers and an hour forty five min for our entrees. The waitress took a long time to refill our drinks and a waiter who helped her was rude throwing dishes on the table. Was really looking forward to our dinner. Worse experience ever dinning out. There were only two other tables busy so we didn’t understand why it was so hard to provide proper customer service. We skipped dessert
Dyllan’s is an incredible place to get together with a bunch of coworkers and to forget they are coworkers and have fun over food. Our group was treated in a timely manner and everyone was very attentive. The food, the wine, the dessert — it was perfection. I’ll be sure to visit again soon.
Excellent oysters but the most disappointing ceviche I’ve ever had. Huge letdown considering the price. Server knew that it was a subpar dish and apologized for the quality afterward and offered alternatives.
This is a resturant with great food but on the evening we were there the service was very problematic. We did get dessert by way of componstation but we still left feeling this could have been a wonderful experince if the service was managed better
Great Brunch and Dinner Spot in Georgetown. We sat inside in the AC but the outside was very full. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Great new restaurant food and service was amazing. Definitely going back!
Best Restaurant in Georgetown and possible in DC. Staff is friendly and a mix of seasoned pros and some newbies. Everyone is helpful and the food is consistently good. Try the seafood omelette at brunch!
I loved this place! Had a wonderful date night here - the place is beautiful with lots of very different seating options to choose from. The food was really delicious (we got the salmon ceviche and the mussels, which had such a good sauce my guy asked for a spoon ;) I really enjoyed sitting out in the back patio area, but fair warning... the canal is drained right now. It was still gorgeous sitting back there in a warm spring night, however, the standing water created a mosquito problem. They all swarmed my date and we had to go inside, but no one else seemed affected and we had a good laugh about it. Would not let this deter you bc the atmosphere, service, and food was still so great!
Excellent seafood! Whomever told you that there were no good restaurants in Georgetown had never been to Dyllan’s. Everything is delicious!
I will never return here. We made a reservation for 8:15, and weren’t seated until closer to 9pm. At around 9:15 we asked the manager if we could order drinks because our server was nowhere to be found. After telling him that we were already getting a little frustrated with our experience, he said “well do you have anywhere else to be?”. Yeah - I wish I was at another freaking restaurant. We decided to stick it out because we heard the food was good, and they brought out our mussels COLD. Have you ever had cold mussels? Disgusting. I would avoid this place at all costs, it was a nightmare.
Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for your experience. There is never an excuse for slow or inattentive service or cold food. We see that you dine over a month ago. If you could provide us with your payment details we would like to arrange for a refund.
Extremely slow service! Too many restaurants in the area with much better food and service - skip this place!
The food was great but I did have a serious issue with the service. One member of our party arrived ahead of the rest of us and had already been served with a drink. When the remainder of us arrived, we sat unattended to for 10 minutes before our waiter, who introduced himself as Pete came to greet us and take our drink order. He came back with our drinks and told us we better “hurry up and order because it’s about to get REAL busy.” I told him we needed some time as we had really just gotten settled. He emphasized again the need for us to rush a decision and then proceeded to give us suggestions on the menu, bringing our attention to only the most expensive dishes on the menu. When our food arrived my friends and I asked for drink refills, the refills were not brought to us until our meal was completely finished. After our drinks were brought I asked for the checks, he informed us he couldn’t split it for individual people but could split it between the cards. This was fine and we all understood. He brought back the checks and we discovered that he had written in his own tip at 22%. I am a good tipper when it is deserved but he was rude to us for our entire visit and hardly attentive to our needs. My friends and I were very disappointed with our experience. I am inclined to visit again because the quality of food was good but I do not know if I can overcome the rude service I received.
Our waiter was so attentive to us celebrating Mother’s Day. It was an amazing experience, and the food was so yummy
It was the server’s first night on the job. She was friendly and accommodating. Still learning the menu.
My 3rd visit. Consistently great! Hats off to the chef and managers. DC is a challenging restaurant city. I eat out a lot and have been disappointed more and more but not at Dyllan's. If Iam even remotely close to Georgetown I am there! This place has 2 unique outdoor areas and 2 huge bars. Everytime I go its busier and busier. Dyllan's Raw Bar Grill my new Fav Restaurant.
Great start to the evening out in Georgetown, sat outside by the canal. Enjoyed well prepared cocktail and fresh seafood.
A little spicy on the whole but great place
The waitress Ariana was super friendly and did an outstanding job!
Decided to try a new place with some friends for dinner. Typical for what i've come to expect from a Georgetown restaurant. Not worth the value. This place is huge, we were one four-top that made the total occupancy of i'd say 30% of the restaurant at best. While our waiter was quite pleasant, the overall service was incredibly slow and frustrating. It took about 20 minutes at least before the first appearance of the waiter to introduce himself, and i'd say close to an hour from the time we sat down to get our first drink. Once the food came, some of it was decent, some of it was lackluster. Some of the things our table tried were the bronzino (just ok), mussels (decent), scallops, and salmon. Our total came to about $400. I would have rather spent that money elsewhere. Overall the place could have potential given the location, views, quaintness, but only if the owners decide to focus on a standard of execution that they are not currently meeting.
Service good and food was wonderful. Our group had a good time. Remember ambiance from previous visit. Love the stone walls and canal.
Another perfect meal at this GT hotspot. Still quieter then I expected but this place is special. The seafood is so fresh and the service is above what is normal in DC. I would book your reservation now because I think this place is going to get really popular.
This place is so beautiful and the outdoor seating is best I have seen in Georgetown or DC. You sit right on the C&O canal! I actually saw fish in the canal. In addition the managers and staff are super friendly. The manager said they opened like 6 months ago. Where have I been? Go here if you are anywhere near GT. Seriously for a DC restaurant only open 6 months this place is great. Fresh ceviches, maki rolls and oysters! I also shared the Arctic Char with this crazy salsa and the avocado mac & cheese was awesome!! Drinks were really boozy, cool spirits but not much name brand stuff which was fine for me. They told me there brunch is also very good so I'm already booking. I would make a reservation now because once this place gets found good luck getting in, especially on a weekend. This place needs better PR or a WP review. I can't believe it took 6 months to find. Great job Dyllan whoever you are!
Service was terrible. Food was okay
The atmosphere is cute and the people were friendly. But the service was terrible. We asked for bread when we were seated. No bread came so we ordered appetizers and our meal. Those took a long time to come out. Our waiter was not around very much. We asked for bread again twice during the meal. Finally when we were done eating and about to ask for the check the bread came out - it was basically toasted sliced bread. The food was mediocre and since we were seated outside, it became pretty cold as it got later. It ended up being an uncomfortable, frustrating experience.
This was a special dinner for visiting family in town for the weekend. Everything was great. Food was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We never felt rushed and were able to enjoy a long evening talking and catching up over delicious meals and desserts. Highly recommend!
Wonderful location. Very attentive management. We went for Oysters. Surprised to find only 4 on options at any given time. One local, one New York, one WA state and one Oregon. The local where hands down the best. I would like to see a larger local offering. The rest of the menu looks great. We will come back to try other things. The monkey bread alone would be worth it
Sat down and ordered a cocktail, raw bar, and entrees. 20 minutes for the drink. 40ish minutes for raw bar. Came back around 50 minutes to tell us they were out of the entree we ordered. Then they were out of the second choice. Went with a third. Another 15 minutes go by. They were out of the third. Went with the fourth because after nearly an hr and a half we were starving and it was late. Total incompetence by the mgmt, and staff blatantly hung out more than they cared to hustle or see to our satisfaction (we weren't satisfied). They comped a dish, and the gesture was appreciated, but still wasn't enough to feel like it balanced the experience out, especially for the needlessly overpriced menu to begin with. Only reason it's not one-star is because the quality of the food was decent. Won't come back, won't recommend anyone go here.
We were a party of eight.
The waiter brought seven dinners and claimed the last one was on its way. It wasn't.
Everyone just about finished eating when the last dinner finally arrived- which was a mushroom quinoa salad. During the waiting period, we inquired 3-4 times about the missing meal. Finally we had to ask that the meal be comp'ed. They agreed.
Then as if that weren't enough, we ordered four coffees, and three desserts and they NEVER brought the third dessert in spite of us asking about its whereabouts three times. First they brought two desserts, then some time later brought the coffees and then NEVER brought the third one to the table.
The food was good. The service crappy. Restaurant really loud. Will not return.
Amoles-I am aware of this issue. Please accept my apology. This should have been handled by a manager in a much better way. I was made aware after you left. Please now that this is not acceptable. We strive to give every guest a 5 star experience and we clearly missed the mark. We are aware you chose to not leave a gratuity of any kind for the service and that is your prerogative. I would like to offer you dinner as my guest.
Great fresh seafood, sides, and drinks. Nice atmosphere
This is my third visit and the food never disappoints. Oysters, Tinned Fish and terrific brunch entres. We view this as a GO to place in Georgetown. They could use an extra bartender during the day, as drinks were slow to come out. But were delicious, so worth the wait.
Great dining spot in Georgetown with a BEAUTIFUL PATIO and a smaller Front Yard too, perfect for these days with nicer weather.
Seafood is super fresh and guaranteed to please everyone from the sushi lovers to those who are more for the good authentic dishes, the squid carpaccio and the clams pasta are delicious.
We’ve tried Dyllan’s a few times and I’m always impressed by the friendly staff and consistently delicious food. This occasion was my son’s birthday brunch - his pick as he’s heard my wife and I speak so highly of Dylan’s. It was another great experience! My two sons had the avocado toast and pancakes while my wife and I enjoyed the seafood omelette and vegetable tart! Yummy! But the biggest hit was the doughnut holes that we all shared. Our waiter was also wonderful and the owner went out of his way to surprise my son with a huge piece of chocolate cake when he heard it was his Birthday! Very classy and a great ending to a fabulous brunch. We’ll be back.
Food was excellent. Raw oysters were perfect. I had the prix fixe menu which included an amazing mushroom/cheese tart, fish cooked to perfection, and an amazing dessert. We had a great experience - the staff were attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back the next time we're in DC.
