Place was lovely. Food took a long time, then waitress forgot our starters. So we ended up not having any. Lobster was over cooked and rubbery. Steak which was meant to be medium was over cooked. They did cook some more which was very good but obviously came after the other food was finished. Waitress was very apologetic and discounted the bill but this didn’t make up for poor food at a high price. Such a shame.

Went on a Saturday evening the service and staff were outstanding! Food really nice and not overpriced! The restaurant had a great atmosphere! Will definitely be going back.

When we booked the brunch the menu on the website was advertised as a £25 bottomless brunch. On arrival we were then passed a menu where it was compulsory to order a main and a desert to then qualify for the bottomless prosecco at an extra cost of £15pp. As this was a birthday surprise for my sister it put me in an embarrassing position to start questioning why we were never informed about the change of cost/menu. Had a nice time but disappointing that we were not informed about this.

Really enjoyed the location could have been really nice. It’s just the 2 items of the set menu wasn’t there on arrival which we were set on choosing despite it being a set menu with limited choice, I was never asked if I wanted a drink and we had to keep pestering the waiters if we wanted a drink. Probably just a busy night and would probably try again at a more off-peak time

Travelled from hull for a night somewhere different. Short walk from the station.Really enjoyed the place, attended for the bottomless prosecco & pancakes for £30 pancake day offer. Amazing food served on a cute little board, the presecco really was unlimited and the staff kept topping you up all evening. Had a few cocktails from the menu which are INSANE spent around £100 between two. Will be coming back for the lobster!

Third time visiting and every time the food has come before the drinks.
Seem to get forgotten about and have to be asked for. Have come when busy and on a quiet afternoon so makes no difference.
However set menus are really good value for money

I’ve been to East 59th on a few occasions prior and had some really good experiences. My last trip really let it down. From the bar staff being slow and getting drinks wrong to average service to food presentation even being below previous visits it was disappointing to say the least.

Don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t awful but certainly stopped me from considering this a safe “go to” spot if you wanted to take someone somewhere nice.

The venue was quiet but it was a lunch time. The serving staff were very helpful, the food on the set menu was nicely presented but was very poor in terms of taste and quality. I don’t think the place deserves the hype.

Went for brunch for a friend's birthday, I had steak & eggs which was amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly. My friends all had a certain breakfast with poached eggs but they weren't happy with it - the bread wasn't toasted and the eggs were cold so it was all a bit strange. I would say it's quite expensive for brunch too, every dish was £10 if you're not having bottomless brunch with £5 extra for the steak. Also we had a table booked for 4, and I rang up a couple of days before we went to amend it to 6 & was told I couldn't as they were fully booked. After saying it was for my friend's birthday & we'd prefer not to cancel & find somewhere else at such short notice they said they could squeeze us in, however when we got there & the entire time we were there it was never full..

Menu is bizarre, extremely loud, mains were served ten minutes before the sides came out, steak was chewy, one main order was incorrect. The table next to us was having a similar issue. It prob needs to decide if it is a bar or a restaurant.

Really lovely evening, great atmosphere. Table was booked at 7.15 and we didn't leave until 10.30! Flat iron steak was cooked perfectly but just 3 grumbles we would like to feed back (although not major) the chips were a little undercooked and not 'skin on' as advertised on the menu. My friends flat iron steak was also really undercooked which was very quickly rectified by the kitchen . Also, the waiter couldn't locate any wine glasses for our bottle of wine which we had to drink from tumblers! Those points aside..the service was great and made for such a lovely evening, will definately be returning soon 😊

My friends and I had an absolutely wonderful evening at East 59th - the staff were all so lovely - especially our main waitress, she was incredibly pleasant and helped to make our first experience at your restaurant what it was.

Thank you East 59th, we will definitely be returning very soon!

Overpriced average food and frankly much better options available in Leeds - unless you really want the surroundings rather than quality/ value for money. 1 onion ring for £1 anyone?
Service underwhelming too - issues with order

Nice place and although the food was tasty (tacos) it was very dark (couldn’t actually read the menu or see the food as we were put in a dark corner!), so probably better just for drinks rather than a meal. Nice cocktails.

Excellent service, made a lovely effort to make a fuss for my friends birthday celebration. The bottomless lunch is excellent value for money, your glass refilled as if by magic. Burger was great, medium cooked and very juicy.

Really enjoyed the Brunch and the Prosecco, our complaint is that on the website when we booked it stated there were 2 courses and that we had 2 hours. When we arrived we were told there was one course and it lasted one and a half hours. It would have been good customer service to have provided the offer that we booked for.

We were excited to visit a recommended restaurant. We were I pressed with the pricing. However the food was served cold which they did recook one of the meals. The medium rare steaks were very rare and unfortunately the steak taco very chewy. They had run out of 3 of the starters busy 8pm. Disappointed as was really looking forward to a nice meal. The restaurant and service were both lovely but we wouldn't rush back soon.

Lovely venue, weird menu, stranger food. Went for brunch. Half the items weren’t available as they’d ‘had a big menu change...’ Deep fried hash browns were cheap and greasy, nachos as a starter were small and low quality. Variety was poor. They bill themselves as a New York style restaurant. Having just been to NY on holiday, I think that’s an insult to the amazing places we had brunch, with bagels, Rueben sandwiches, pancakes. Won’t be rushing back unless they have a menu rethink.

Food was great; service was excellent; wine was delicious, but the rest of the drinks had room for improvement. The actual space is beautiful, and we were surprised how quiet it was for a Friday. I'd recommend getting in quick before everyone finds this hidden gem and you can't get a table. Will be returning for sure.

Disappointed with the lady who showed us to our table. We asked for the express menu which she said she would bring right over. 10mins later we were still waiting. After locating a menu from another waiter we placed our order, to which the original lady came over to ask if we had the menu.
Food was top notch and great value. Just a shame about the beginning of our evening with the poor service from somebody who is front of house and the first point of call for customers.

We were not greeted on arrival and the bar tender ignored us. Once we were given a waiter, he was great. The music was at nightclub volume when we arrived, with only 4 other people in the restaurant on a Sunday night, it felt like this was for the staff rather than customers. however our brilliant waiter turned it down and we were each given a glass of Prosecco for my birthday and by way of apology for the poor service when we arrived. The food is great and this was my 5th visit and the service previously was as good as the food.
