The service could be better. The waiters kept forgetting orders and there was a delay in receiving drinks. Food was dry
We booked the bottomless drinks option, amazing value
Brilliant night at Eastway - great crowd shame about blooming result😩
The service was diabolical. There were 3 waitresses for the entire restaurant. We paid for bottomless brunch yet the speed of service was truly shocking, 15 minutes before each round. They then also tried to end our bottomless brunch half an hour early. When we complained the waiter and ‘manager’ were incredibly rude and when we asked to speak to the manager again we were told she had left for the day only for her to suddenly reappear half an jour later. Please avoid.
Food was tasteless I’m afraid. I had the linguine with seafood .
Dear Mr. Green, many thanks for taking the time to write a review and leave a small note. A feedback of any kinds makes sure we constantly improve our service. I am sorry to hear you have been disappointed and the linguine you've ordered wasn't your taste. Your feedback has been passed on to make sure this won't happen in the future. We hope to be able to welcome you back and make sure you have a better time with us this time. Kind regards, Eastway Brasserie
Great to be back eating in, made reservation on the day and managed to get a table. Nice staff, good food and nice overall vybe. Would probably like more expensive cocktail menu, but that won't stop me returning
starters served 50 minutes after seating down, mains 90 minutes after seating.
very loud place with a lot of noise coming from kitchen and the bar staff. Food was very average
Dear TanyaP, many thanks for taking the time to leave a feedback. We are sorry to hear we haven't been able to provide the service you have been looking for. Excellent location for business lunch, vegetarian options good
New staff a little inexperienced and nervous but the place remains a good venue for a business lunch in the City.
Nothing special. The food was quite bland, wouldn’t necessarily come back. Dessert was the only good part.
An excellent food menu with wine to match. Staff were attentive but not overly friendly. Overall very satisfactory and worth recommending to others.
The service was very good and both our starters were very nice. I had the lamb ragou which was very rich and a bit too spicy for my taste,my husband had a steak which was overly salty. The manager gave us a refund on the steak which was very nice but we would have preferred to have had a good meal.
A really lovely dining experience. Food was superb, well priced and good value. Service was attentive without being intrusive and the venue itself is conveniently placed for Liverpool Street station and underground. Will definitely go back.
Service was great - waitress very attentive & efficient.
Food was a little bland (I had the prawn & crayfish linguini) but not bad.
Messed up the order and had to chase a few things but the food was nice
Ate at Eastway for an early breakfast with friends. Good selection of food from pastries, to eggs benedict to full fry up. Dishes arrived quickly and we felt it was worth the premium of eating here.
Eastway Burger and a beer, good service and convenient location makes for a happy experience.
Monday lunchtime and 25-30% of menu unavailable. All our first choices were unavailable. Steak good but fish cakes predominantly potato. A disappointing experience. I am sure they can do better
Food was lovely. Staff were very nice but service could have been better. We had to ask to order after 30minutes. Drinks service was quite slow.
we were celebrating and had lots of different requests and diet preferences, drink preferences and all were met with efficiency and enthusiasm.
Cheap(ish) and cheerful. Two for one drinks 5-8pm is a great deal across quite a few selections. Service could have been a little better considering the restaurant wasn’t very busy and there were quite a few servers. Adjoined to the hotel so no doubt this is the aimed clientele.
Usual good quality dining experience for a business breakfast
The food was flavourful, but the price for some cauliflower with harissa was too high. £17 and was also advised to order a side as would not be enough. Some mixed leaves £5. Hmmm
The prices are equivalent to a top London restaurant, not what you expect from a casual dinner at a Brasserie. 3 main courses, 2 alcoholic drinks, tap water and 3 hot drinks = £160!!! We've been going there annually for several years. We will find somewhere else next year. Shame.
It's been a while since I've been there - pleased to say that it was as good as ever.
Breakfast menu is quite interesting with lots of variations on the theme of Eggs Benedict.
I had the Full Veggie as something lighter than the Full English - it was nicely cooked & presented but a small piece of char grilled Halloumi would have made it perfect.
Service is always good without being fawning.
The occasion was in remembrance of my dad's birthday (he passed last year.) I chose the EB because of its proximity to Liverpool St station, as one of my relatives was coming up from Essex and we wanted somewhere close by.
We were there for the 'Brunch Menu' - not necessarily my favourite choice for a meal, but I didn't look very carefully when I booked, but we decided to make the best of it.
First up was the 'shared starters' - six starters to share between three.
It was a varied selection, ranging from a banana/yoghurt mix, to chorizo-flavoured arroncini,
a gin-soaked smoked salmon salad, and another salad of avocado and quinoa.
They were nicely prepared and tasted OK but, looking at the selection, you could almost hear the chef saying, "what else shall we give them...?"
Onto the mains; my wife had the steak and my uncle had the breakfast fry-up special; I ordered the pulled BBQ pork hash with potatoes.
These mains went down very well, although the portion of the fry-up special was a bit too large.
My wife loved her steak (no mean praise, as she is very picky when it comes to steak) and I have to say that the pulled pork hash was one of the best I have ever tasted.
The dessert was a selection of so-so patisserie.
The items we had were fine, but also nothing to write home about.
Regarding staff and ambience, the waiters and waitresses were polite, friendly and efficient - exemplary, in fact.
There was a shift change in the middle of our meal, but you would never know; the handover was seamless, which is quite a feat.
It is a nice venue, a bit echoey at times, and you were very aware that it is really a hotel with a restaurant tacked onto it.
This was reinforced by the prices, which I thought quite steep; the wine was expensive considering we only drank a fairly mediocre Sauvignon Blanc.
In summary, I thought that EB was a bit of a 'business expense account' venue. It didn't have a lot of charm and, although the staff were sweet, I won't be returning.
Good location, very helpful staff and good food. Can be noisy at lunchtime.
The Eastway Brasserie is a nice place, very convenient for a city lunch or dinner with the right setting, either for friends or business associates. Good food and fair service. Thank you.
A classic business lunch destination - good food - good service - normal pricing - recommended - always reliable -I had Tuna Loin - delicious
Starter was under seasoned and on the pricier side for what you get
I have been to Eastway Brasserie before with various friends. Well located near Liverpool Street station. It has a great menu, good 2-for-1 drinks during "happy hour", mocktails and a good wine list. The service was good. For coeliacs, this resaturant will provide gluten-free bread on request. My friend and I both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the service and the ambience. Initially, the noise level seems quite high but actually you forget that pretty quickly and you can easily talk to fellow diners without shouting.
Very good service but cost a bit too expensive
Perfect place for a business breakfast
The meal and venue were all good. One important thing to mention is that apparently Eastway Brasserie do not take bookings from Open Table anymore. I made a booking for my boss on Friday 18th and when he arrived they had no booking under his name and he was told that they only take bookings from Book a Table. Luckily there was a table for him but it could've gone wrong!
Great value brunch with unlimited drinks - food was of high quality and delicious. Mix an match bottomless drinks at £18 excellent.
I’ve visited the Eastway Brasserie twice now but today was the first time for Brunch.
I have to say, the value for money is excellent. In my opinion, there could be less starters made available and it would be better to allow people the choice of just having a main course as the selection of pastries and desserts on offer would more than make up for the difference.
However, for those who enjoy a hearty (and bottomless if you so desire) brunch, then I would highly recommend this.
A veritable feast with six small brunch dishes to start followed by a choice of a more substantial 'main' plate. Meanwhile, there is a small counter with help yourself pastries and puddings. But since when did brunch become such a full-on meal?!
The noise level rather interfered with the purpose of our lunch: conversation among old friends. Service was good. There wasn’t much on the menu that appealed to me but the prawn and crayfish linguine was fine apart from the squelchy prawns. Reasonable wine. Very handy for Liverpool Street station.
Good for business lunch. I didn’t get what I ordered to eat. Given the service, I couldn’t be bothered to send it back. Then, I was told off for asking one server for a glass of wine, when the other server hadn’t brought the wine ages after ordering it. Service was unprofessional.
