Eddie Merlot's Prime Aged Beef & Seafood - Ashburn
Good food and service. Good atmosphere.
Wonderful experience. This was our first time dining there and we will definitely be returning often. It’s going to become one of our favs considering it is close to home. Typically we go to Tyson’s or DC. Now we have a closer option. Thank you
My friend and I had a great Galentine’s Day dinner on February 14th. When we arrived, we were told that there was a 15 minute delay in being seated (which was to be expected on one of the busiest days to dine out in the year). The hosting team worked diligently to make sure the people ahead of us were getting seated as quickly as possible, and we were seated before our newly quoted timeframe.
My friend ordered the Wagyu ribeye that was cooked perfectly medium rare. She said it was the one of the best pieces of meat she has ever had, and the Béarnaise sauce on the side was a delicious pairing. I had the scallops served on top of a purée with peppers: a great creamy/spicy contrast to the naturally sweet scallops.
Dessert (crème brûlée) was more than enough for one person- it was a solid choice with a nice sugar crust that you can crack with a spoon.
My friend and I had a delightful gastronomic experience, and we are already planning for our next visit.
We ate here on Valentine's Day. We were not impressed with the quality of food. We picked the calamari for our appetizer. It was very sweet and too soggy. It was like eating sweet and sour chicken. The main entrées were bland. For the money, it was not worth it. We prefer Capital Grille for quality and value when it comes to a steak dinner.
We had a wonderful Valentines Dinner at Eddie Merlot’s. Robert our server was excellent. He made some excellent recommendations that we tried. We started with an excellent Waldorf salad. We also had steaks and scallops. Finishing off with a pineapple cream pie that Robert recommended. Everything was cooked to perfection! We requested to sit at a booth in OpenTable which Eddie’s provided. Wonderful experience. We will be back!
I went to Eddie Merlot for my 48th wedding anniversary on 2/12/2020. My husbanded wanted to go there because we went there once before when they first opened. We arrived about 6:15 PM. We placed our order and service seem good at first, but it went down hill from there. About 1/2 hour after we arrived, two tables of about 20 plus people came in for dinner. Two tables of 4 came in and a table of 2 came in. This was all 1/2 hour to 45 minutes after we arrived. All those tables were severed their meals before us. No explanation was given. It took at least an hour or more for dinner to be served. I ordered a 20 ounce lobster tail that cost over $70.00 and it was raw when severed. I had to send it back. Also, all the tables were served bread, which we did not receive any. The cost of the meal was well over $250.00. I did not want to make a fuss because it was my anniversary. This was just the worst experience and I would not recommend it to anyone. One other thing, the waiter was like a car salesman. He kept trying to get us to order more things than we needed or wanted. I wanted the dinner to be special, but it was not at all special. I don't know how kitchen's work, but we forgotten and were severed expensive food that was not cooked correctly.
Second time here because we liked it so much the first time. There will be a third!
Wayne took great care of us as we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary!
Favorite spot to celebrate special events - great cocktail and wine list, good variety of meals (all delicious), carrot cake is the best!
Had an excellent dinner at Eddie's! We started with cocktails and wine and shared the wedge salad. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and we shared the cauliflower gratin which was delicious. After dinner we enjoyed dessert and coffee. All very good!
Excellent as always!
Food was great. We did the Chateaubriand for two. It had great flavor and was cooked to the temperature we specified. Service was attentive but not overbearing.
Always a good time. Staff was excellent
Overall, the experience was good due to the excellent service provided by our waitress, Meg, and the rest of the staff. The food cane out a bit less hot than we would typically prefer, which was a bit of a misstep. Also, you could see where the staff had attempted to wipe some sauce that splattered to the edge of one entree plate. The ambiance is a little different than the typical steakhouse. There is literally a big screen TV within eyeshot of every seat in the restaurant. All of that being said, we would give Eddie Merlot’s a 2nd chance, but only if we can sit in Meg’s section.
Lost our order and took 50 mins to receive food. Both entrees were cooked incorrect. One of the two recooked entrees was the wrong meal all together. The manager had no idea what was originally ordered and what was recooked.
For a restaurant that serves prime cuts of steaks, they have no clue how to cook them properly especially for the prices your paying.
It was great to try something new and enjoy every bite.
I have to admit that I was skeptical going in. But the food was very good and the service was excellent. Great wine list too.
We chose Edie Merlot's to celebrate our 50th wedding Anniversary because we thought it would be special. It wasn't. We had a 7:15 reservation. We arrived at 7:15 and were told we would have to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Our server was sub-par. She didn't seem to have her mind on what she was doing and forgot things.
It was loud but great food
It was our wedding anniversary, which they knew, they sat us outside the bar, not in the main dining room. Then they gave us a server that was only serving for two days, he was terrible. He actually commented on our age, which was totally inappropriate. Then the food started to come out, the salads were wilted, I had steak and shrimp but the shrimp was not edible, they appeared to be uncooked when they were supposed to be blackened. The only good thing about experience there was the manager, who comped our meal and was very apologetic. The restaurant has really gone downhill since the last time we ate there. It’s definitely not worth the price.
Great food and Cassie is the best server!
We go here often and the food is usually great, this time it was awful. Soup and salad came at the same time. The ribeyes did not look like ribeye steaks and my order was placed wrong.
Excellent food and service as usual! We both enjoyed the quiet ambiance as well. And the wine was fabulous.
Good food and we'll prepared. Worth the $.
The Wagyu was a tad over cooked for our liking...wanted Medium Rare and it was more Medium. We will definitely be back and know to order more on the Rare side.
I really enjoyed my visit and the waitress. She was outstanding and she really took excellent care of us. The food was delicious and the service for everything was great.
New Years eve
The server was excellent. Not impressed with the food , Salomon was too sweet ribe eye was good no side order came with it . Other wise good.
It was better than our last visit.
Very poor service by the server. We waited 1 hour for our desert!!!!
Wonderful service and food on a very busy NYE. Keith and Carla did a wonderful job. No complaints.
I made reservations for New Years Eve dinner for my wife and me. Was seated in the bar area. Numerous people standing next to our table as the bar was full. With the level of noise, we couldn’t hear our waitress nor enjoy a conversation. My wife ordered sea bass as that is her favorite dish. The fish came out over cooked on the outside and under cooked on the inside. They did refire the dish. The second dish was cooked properly and include the soy glaze that was not delivered with the first dish. One of the mangers came by and apologized and removed the fish from the bill which was appreciated. The side dishes, brussel sprouts and cauliflower au gratin were under whelming. The brussel sprouts were boiled with little flavor and the au gratin had about a tablespoon of cheese sauce.
Overall, did not meet my expectations for the prices. Will not repeat.
We came here and spent over $300 on dinner. Some points we waited over 25 mins looking for our waiter to order dinner. The experience took over 3 hours. Many items were forgotten, drinks weren’t brought out and the bill was wrong. Not sure I will be back.
Always good! Matt the GM goes the extra mile each and every time to make our dining experience THE BEST!
Two fillets, one bone in both were raw, lobster was under cooked. When this was brought to the managers attention he made it seem like we didn’t know what we were talking about.
Steaks came back out cooked to order.
We were surprised that a complimentary dessert ,glass of wine, coffee or Apology was not offered.
I have eater there before, and even purchased gift cards. Not sure I will return.
Took the family to celebrate my birthday and New Year's Eve. Eddie's made it really special. Wayne was our server and did a superb job! We started with filet potstickers and the BBQ shrimp. Excellent!! All of us decided on the filet mignon for our entrees. Super tender and flavorful. We had the potato croquettes and the cheesy cauliflower for sides and they were outstanding. Our dessert was an end of a decade knockout! See photo! So happy we celebrated at Eddie Merlot's this year!
We have dined at Eddie Merlot‘s numerous times and loved it. This, unfortunately was a horrible experience. The waitress, Jess, discouraged each of us were initially ordering. But this was only done to upsell us on a higher priced food item. Every single item we ordered, she negated by saying it wasn’t the best the restaurant had to offer, or that she didn’t personally care for it. Then she would proceed to offer a higher priced item. She also only spoke to my husband when I specifically asked her about the wine list. It took approximately 40 minutes for our entrée to arrive and not one of them was even slightly warm. The impression was that the food sat under warmers in the kitchen and was never bothered to be delivered to our table. Then, once our meals were finally delivered, Jess the waitress, came back to the table numerous times and rudely interrupted our meal by asking, among other questions, “What are you enjoying?” Really?
So disappointing especially since it was a special occasion.
12/24. Christmas Eve family dinner. Very pleasant evening with great service and food!
Christmas Eve dinner. We had a wonderful time. This is our go to place in the Leesburg/Ashburn area for fine dining. Food was marvelous and our server Jessica did an excellent job! We shared a shrimp cocktail. My husband got the Duroc Pork chops. I got the 10oz filet and we shared creamed spinach side. But for the icing on the cake we shared the brownie with cognac, vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, pecans and raspberries. It was unbelievable good! It was a great evening.
