Head chef and owner Jonny Elliott brings a huge passion for food from his extensive experience working across Europe, including for top chefs Gordon Ramsay and Gary Rhodes. EDŌ is ideal for those wanting to experience a range of tastes through a sharing themed menu. For those who prefer a more traditional service, the starter and main course format are still available. EDŌ is one of only a very small number of restaurants to cook using a Bertha oven, which allows for the chefs to cook with apple and pear wood to give dishes a distinctive, smoky flavour. Very good food. Even if you know tapas dishes these have their own unique flair so it’s a good idea to ask for the dishes to be explained.
The cocktails were nice but perhaps a bit overpriced.

It was very busy when we arrived and we were shown to a table and greeted by a very friendly waitress called Wiktoria. She was very helpful and answered any questions we had about the menu in good detail.
We ordered 2 monkfish and Pimentos as small plates and 2 kebabs and 1 oxcheeks as mains. To finish we had churros and coffee. The pimentos, monkfish, oxcheeks and churros were delicious. However we were
extremely disappointed to see that the lamb kebabs were in fact koftas, something we wouldn't have ordered if we had known this. The tzatziki was also disappointing and lacked any real flavour. All in all we had a pleasant experience, but like any restaurant,not everything on the menu meets everyone's expectations. It didn't spoil our evening as our waitress was so lovely and definitely an asset to the restaurant.

We rang ahead to say we would be a bit late and when we arrived the waitress (with blond hair and glasses) took ownership to get us served quickly before the next sitting with recommendations from the menu rather than waste time taking individual orders from our party of 8. Overall a bit rushed but the quality of food and the friendly and efficient service was excerllent. Our waitress deserves high praise for the way she looked after us.

Delicious food, the staff could not have been nicer and the place itself has a lovely atmosphere. We were there quite early but even though it wasn’t busy, they had great music at an appropriate volume and balance.

Loved the food & atmosphere was fantastic. Wasn’t keen on the tapas style of service - my ‘main’ arrived well after the rest of my group had finished & my potatoes & veg arrived well before my main. I get the concept of tapas service but not sure I like it

I found the menu a bit confusing, i couldnt work out what way to approach it, the waiter did explain that it was like a tapas, but when i seen the menu layout , to me the tapas looked like they were the starters and the meats and fish where here main course, and becuase of that i treated it a bit like the traditional 3 course meals, tapas for starters meat for main and then desert.
But when i did treat it like that when my steak came out i was a bit dissapointed as i expected it to bit whole not cut up into little bits, at that point i only understood how the concept worked.

The most creative tapas style restaurant we have ever experienced. Our server graciously led us through the menu and assured us we could order more items along the way. Crafted cocktails, Paella, olives, house salad, calamari, crepe Catalan and chocolate tart. The space is beautifully designed with attentive service.

EDŌ is one of Belfast's musts.
The food is vibrant, eclectic and most importantly, delicious.

This is topped by a stunningly designed interior and staff that are beyond friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our meal and our evening in Edo. Service was excellent - very attentive but in no ways pushy or rushed. Lovely choice of food and nice ambiance. Will definitely be back!

Fabulous food that you can never get bored of as there are always specials. I am not a vegetarian but could easily become one after trying the braised lentils ! I'm still thinking about them ...

This was our second time here - even though we were not impressed the first time we decided to give it another go. Some of the plates are too expensive for what they are and some aren't really good for sharing. The pate came with 2 wafer thin crisps that were not substantial enough to withstand the strong pate. The monkfish scampi had an anaemic and very greasy batter - though the fish itself was lovely. The flavours were all very disappointing. Staff were lovely and service was good, but I will not be back.

We really like Edo and this was our 4th visit. Food was very good but we ordered starters and mains thinking we would get starters first and then mains but we got both starters and mains together and while we ate both it kind of spoiled the experience. If you have headings of starters and mains - why not give customers the choice of availing of this service as it is advertised rather than bringing both down at once

Great place for a lovely lunch in beautiful surroundings. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere with a little extra. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would love to go back for dinner sometime!

Great standard of food. Lots of small sharing plates, very well cooked. At least 3 or 4 plates which will suit anyone's palate. Wine choice was good and house Rioja was a good tipple. All in all very impressed and highly recommend.

Service was slow even though the restaurant was exceptionally quiet. We sent one dish back (through no fault of staff). However, chef should bear in mind that the customers he is talking about are sitting right in front of him!

The food was very good but I was slightly disappointed compared to previous visits. The menu is more restricted than last year, which would be fine if the specials were available however 2 were finished so there was not as good a choice. I was surprised that they were unavailable for a peak Saturday evening sitting (I could understand if it was a later sitting). Also the service was not as slick as I had previously experienced. The last time I was there we ordered edamame beans and they were at the table while we were still ordering mains! This time I asked what the steak was served with and the waitress didn't know; and the colleague she asked didn't know either! I believe it was her first night so this may be forgivable but a top restaurant wouldn't throw someone into a busy service without proper training. With the competition so good in Belfast it's a shame to see the standards here slipping.
