EDŌ brings you a relaxed dining experience where you can enjoy the tastes of the best ingredients from around Europe. Head chef and owner Jonny Elliott brings a huge passion for food from his extensive experience working across Europe, including for top chefs Gordon Ramsay and Gary Rhodes. EDŌ is ideal for those wanting to experience a range of tastes through a sharing themed menu. For those who prefer a more traditional service, the starter and main course format are still available. EDŌ is one of only a very small number of restaurants to cook using a Bertha oven, which allows for the chefs to cook with apple and pear wood to give dishes a distinctive, smoky flavour. Jonny and Antonia look forward to welcoming you to EDŌ to take you on a journey of discovery of some of the best dishes and ingredients that Europe has to offer.

Booked online, we actually turned up on time and our table was ready.
It was near the door and I was a bit worried about drafts or being bumped into whilst eating. I need not have worried.
The explanation of the idea of Tapas was clear and succinct. My wife and already knew and love eating that way. We had seven dishes and a Cheeseboard between us - every morsel eaten and enjoyed.
Great selection and value in wine and cocktails.
I've just remembered I marked Value at the start of this review with four stars - It should have been five
I'd forgotten my wife's Cosmopolitan and my bottle of beer whilst discussing the menu.
Looking forward to our next visit with friends

This was my 2nd visit to EDO and the food was equally excellent. In my opinion it is easily the best food in Belfast and the sharing dining experience is great craic. It means everyone continues to chat whilst enjoying the fabulous food.

Second time eating there. Disappointing this time. Service has gone backwards - slow and inattentive, poor focus on detail. Food was a mix from fantastic - the ribs to very average - the steak was overdone. First time I went there all was fantastic as Jay Rayner had promised. If Jay returns I fear he will be disappointed. An EDO reset is needed.

Took an extremely long time for my main to come. Must have been forgotten about. Not so much as a cup of tea offered. Even the waiter was embarrassed.

Went with friends for catch up we were placed right beside toilets and kitchen door which was noisy and draughty when we asked t be moved were advised other empty tables were booked enquired if we had to stipulate seating area and advised this was the case . Felt explanation was quite rude and could see no logical reason why we could not be seated elsewhere will not be returning

The staff in EDO were very helpful, the food was reasonably well explained although it is difficult to know how big or small dishes are before ordering which led to us believing some were main dishes. Otherwise it was an enjoyable evening and would definitely recommend again.

This is a tapas restaurant. The menu is confusing and when the waitress tried to explain it didn't help. So, "We don't have main courses just bigger sized tapas portions" The food quality was fine when it arrived just a difficult path to travel to get there.

My partner and I visited on Saturday 4 May 2019. We had heard excellent reports about the restaurant, but everyone has different tastes, so I was reluctant to get excited. We were seated right in front of where all the action happens - in front of the chefs. Watching these guys go about their business as 4 patrons watched their every move (and I mean EVERY move). My partner and I really didn't know what to expect and were surprised at one starter arriving and then a main course was set out, and we were still waiting on another starter. The lovely waitress had certainly informed us of what would happen, but it was just so strange to us - but we loved it! The food was unreal. Cooked to perfection and arranged beautifully. We really were not disappointed.

Our evening was delightful, especially as the 'head chef' (I think that's what he was), winked and kept smiling ;-)

I would not hesitate in recommending this fabulous restaurant, and it certainly won't be our last visit. We'll most definitely be back in the very near future.

Booked a table for myself and 5 friends on 27/4/19 months in advance. Received a confirmation email the day before so was horrified when I arrived do find a notice on the door saying they were closed due to unforeseen circumstances. While I understand things happen a phone call earlier in the day would have been helpful. Instead we were left walking around trying to find another restaurant that could take us. Very disappointing.

To whom it may concern, we did indeed close on Saturday. We had contacted every customer that had booked to dine with us that evening and we had worked very hard to ensure the majority of our guests were able to get reservations elsewhere. However, when trying to contact your particular reservation the number provided through your online reservation was incorrect and we were not provided with any email information to get in touch. If you would like to discuss this further please email us.

Food and service are always excellent, the large vegan menu is popular with vegan friends.

One time it was quite noisy, though generally it is ok.

Lovely atmosphere. One waitress was a little unknowledgeable about the menu and had to ask a few times regarding our food. We had paella for main course but unfortunately only 1 arrived which was tasty and we shared until the 2nd came out which unfortunately had very little fish in it. We ate late,9.30pm as it was the only time available so many specials had finished so maybe eating earlier is recommended!!

Best dishes were the paella, beef cheek and soft shell crab though can't complain about any of the other dishes we got, all were lovely, fresh and full of flavour. Make sure you save room for the dessert, the churros and affogato are amazing!
Staff are friendly and there's a relaxed atmosphere.

Great service, friendly staff, the small plates are very tasty. I don't feel that there is much diverse choice of larger main plates. I wasn't aware there is a vegetarian and vegan menu, until I was asked is that the vegetarian option. I was told these menus are only available on request, but if you don't know how can you request these.

We arrived early and had booked to celebrate an engagement. On arrival I ordered a bottle of champagne but apparently it had sold out then we were seated beside the toilets and having booked quite a time ago was a disappointment and definitely ruined the ambience and experience. The waitress was very helpful and tried to move our table a few more inches away from the loos but alas it did not help really . Being beside the loos is never good but I had not booked last minute .
