Ed's Diner - Brighton
I booked a table for 3 as we don’t live close to Brighton and didn’t want to travel without a booking. On arrival we were told they don’t take bookings so needed to wait for a table. It was about a 10 min wait. When seated at the table the service was very good and the food was good. So other than the booking problem I would recommend
Not a good choice for people with nut or fish allergies! You are extremely limited and to top it off can’t have any milkshakes.
Brilliant service as always - staff are speedy, polite and helpful; nothing is too much trouble. Great portions and value for money. Always worth a visit.
Amazing food and lovely staff! We will back soon !
María was very helpful and polite !
The best diner !
The best burgers !
Absolutely fantastic as always, couldn’t wait to review this place again. It’s become a new favourite of mine!
We use Ed's because they have a good gluten free range of burgers. Staff very helpful and friendly
Ed’s is my son’s favourite restaurant and he choose it for his birthday. The staff were lovely and made a fuss of him and the service was prompt and efficient. The milkshakes were amazing as normal and the food was great.
If you are after a decent burger at a fair price this fits the bill, its right in between the price point of of the huge conglomerates and the gourmet burger joints and I cannot fault that, its also a cool place to eat with its 50's diner feel.
Also you can get a beer here which makes the small wait for the burger more palatable. All in all I'd certainly come back.
Bad food ridiculous wait for server to take order got the order wrong 3xs absolute bad experience
Love Ed’s Diner! The staff were very friendly but special thank you to our waiter Harry who altered the drinks and meals just for us. I am vegan. On the menu, it says they can only make a handful of milkshake flavours dairy free, when in fact, they can do any flavour. A massive relief for me as I love mint milkshakes and there the only place that offer them. For my meal, I ordered the Moving Mountains Plant Based Hot Dog. Succulent with barbecue nostalgia, no need to eat pork, but asked if I could add smashed avocado and mushrooms which they did (highly recommend a guacamole topped hot dog.) It’s a shame they got rid of the mini jukeboxes and waitress cardboard cutout due to vandalism as it really enhanced the ambiance. Nevertheless, the red booths, tiled floors and neon lights are very aesthetically pleasing and you can still see the inspiration from Pulp Fiction, unlike any diner I’ve visited.
They catered for my daughters allergies wonderfully we certainly left there very happy with staff and food
It was my Daughter Birthday. The maple bacon pancakes reminded me of our trip to Las Vegas. Simply delicious.
The mud pie milkshake not only looked amazing but tasted delicious.
Out waiter Jonathan made my Daughter feel special on her Birthday.
I will be back to celebrate my own Birthday.
We loved our waiter Jonathan so much! He made our morning!
The staff member on the front need to explain the deals better and not just advise half the deal. They're all so need to be a bit more welcoming
Rude attitude from servant. Missed food and didn’t apologise.
Considering how busy it was the staff where very busy but tried hard to get to you as quick as possible. Bit of a wait for food but we were warned before we sat down to order which was Courteous. There was a few thing on the menu sold out but the one small and I mean small grip I had was I order beans as a side for my youngest and only once the food was out and I said there is meant to be beans on the side they told me no beans.
The Vegan plant based starters were burnt and tasted really bad
Very helpful staff, didn’t have to wait long for our food and it arrived hot To the table and was very tasty. We had the plant based burger and hot dog, both were delicious and filling. Side order of chips that were crispy and not greasy. Love the booth seating and contactless payment option. Diner looked very clean, and we were safely distanced. Would definitely visit again, and recommend anyone else to try them out too.
Booked as a joint birthday/anniversary celebration and had noted this on the booking. This was not acknowledged on arrival. We were told several items were unavailable, including vegan tenders which my vegetarian daughter was looking forward to.
We ordered the mains and 3 sides to share. The portion sizes of the sides could not be described as generous. The plant based dog was pleasant enough but the roll was stale and missing gherkins. The roll was substituted after complaining but no sincere apology for serving inedible food.
We’d noticed the offer of free brownie for downloading the app, but after installing we could not see the offer. We asked our waitress who initially said it should be there. Then the manager finally confirmed it would be available “after a few days”.
We ordered the brownie anyway.
The food is ok, but very overpriced given the adequate quality . This was supposed to have been a treat but we won’t be returning.
Food tasted incredible but was a bit cold. Staff were attentive and lovely.
Our table host couldn’t wait to get us done and our the ‘door’. While it be a busy time of the day, we felt rushed and hurried!
Lovely place chips wasnt much there on place thought u get a pudding on childrend menu included burgers were lovelyy! A*
Very small burgers, we ordered somthing from the main menu and the kids menu and the burgers from the main were the same size as the child's. Breakfast had items missing and eggs were like a tough bit of rubber. Asked for a Pepsi and was given a can, not what I would expect in a restaurant and certainly not for £3.10! Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend.
Great food, great service and great value. I really loved the onion rings and the milkshakes are to die for. We got there at midday on Saturday and it filled up very quickly. The server Johnathon was hilarious.
My girlfriend and I had a great experience at Ed’s Diner in Brighton. The service was superb - everyone was friendly and energetic - the food was fantastic and the location was perfect. Would really recommend.
Delicious food . Very friendly attentive staff. Very covid safe . The restaurant was spotless . Would definitely visit again and recommend.
Great Diner. Always a good visit and great to be able to book.
