Ed's Diner - Swindon
Closed - site was not open..... really poor - booked and no Ed’s there
They were understaffed stood waiting ages to be seated and then for order to be taken.
Asked for the bill and no one came so in the end left the money by the till.
Our first experience which we were looking forward to but was very disappointed.
Once we had our order given it was really hard to get a server. There were items missing and I had to wait at least 4 minutes and it took me waving like ground crew at an airport to get someone to come over.
Food was good and tasty once we had it all. Servers were super friendly just need to be zoned to serve in sections and not the whole restaurant and forget to check tables.
The server was very polite, helpful and understood our needs I would give her 5 out of 5 😊
When we arrived we were sat down to a wet table, when the food arrived the food was on hot plates however the food was only just warm.
The waitress was very friendly however when she asked if there was anything else we needed ,I replied we will have some more drinks in a bit, before I knew it 4 more drinks turned up, whilst this was ok we weren't asked if it was all drinks or just particular drinks, this lead to us leaving 2 of the drinks which we felt bad about.
Although Ed’s diner offers a gluten free menu (which is fantastic!) the staff didn’t understand what gluten free actually meant. The manager was fixated on whether it was ‘on’ the GF menu rather than if the food actually contained any gluten. Can common sense please prevail! Some training for staff is definitely in need. Most frustrating.
Poor service. Didn’t reserve our table, couldn’t sit together for b-day meal. Took 45 mins before took drink order, food was cold, took 30 mins before we had to ask for plates to be cleared. We complained three times. On the third complaint they did wipe our bill.
Excitedly booked at a table for a family meal out on NYE at 6pm. Phoned at 5pm to check parking details only to be told they had decided that morning to close at 5pm. They informed me that this was so staff could leave early on NYE ... Very lovely for the staff! No notification or cancellation had been sent to us, or alternative offered ... who decides to shut their restaurant early THAT DAY when there are bookings already in place, and then doesn't even inform the customers?! Appalling service!
We had to wait at least an hour just to get drinks. Me and my companions were just about to leave.
