Two plates and glass of wine for 15
Enjoy two plates and a glass of wine or soft drink for £15 during the week at lunch time
Enjoyed our visit which was lunch just before two week closure
Great tastes but did feel that some dishes were a bit expensive considering ingredients but tastes great as before
Also wine list understandably limited in such a small place but £45 for a decent Sauvignon seemed steep
Overall would still recommend
Amazing food and excellent service, we will definitely be back.
Just really delicious, innovative dishes. Really comfortable interior and friendly staff. A great neighborhood addition and such good value for money. I look forward to eating here again.
Nice spot for a date night. Surprising how full you can get with small plates. I am currently pregnant so several options I couldn't eat but staff were very helpful, very informative on ingredients and made some changes so I could enjoy a dessert. Also barman made me some yummy mocktails.
Really delicious meal with attentive service, will definitely return. Almond cake is was incredible
Absolutely delicious food, the menu was spectacular and we enjoyed every single bite!
All of the staff are super lovely and could not do more for us. We cannot wait to come back!
Brilliant food and service. Every single dish was amazing from the sweet potato croquettes to the hanger steak. And service was just so friendly and personable.
This is the second time I have been here and the food is absolutely amazing! Smaller dishes and so many flavours. Plenty choice for veggie/vegan. Top class and will definitely be back again!!
Amazing place! Something different than the usual, highly recommended.
Small and bijou both restaurant and kitchen but what arrives on the plates speaks volumes. Crafted and unfussed this is cooking with skill, care and inspiration. The best mackerel I have eaten all year and the tagliatelle whilst simple in description a perfect salute to marrying egg and wild mushroom flavours with crunchy porcini crumbs. Angus (the owner) lovely, welcoming and warm with his star chefs creating wizardry magic from a shoebox kitchen. This will become my ‘go to’ when I visit Glasgow. A diamond in the rough *
Second time here. Both visits have been excellent. Quality of food is great as is the creativity behind the menu. Lovely venue, good atmosphere and very attentive staff. Quickly becoming a go- to favourite in the city, naively hoping it’ll remain quiet enough to accommodate last minute bookings
We enjoyed our meal to a certain extent - everything was well cooked , the atmosphere was buzzy but safe. Overall it was a nice night but we just felt it was quite rushed ( even although the staff were absolutely lovely) and at the end of the day, the food lacked a bit of effort and was quite simplistic- dishes were well executed but pretty simple and straightforward with no surprises or added finesse. The beetroot and apple dish was just that , a semi large plate of diced beetroot and apple in an average dressing. The oyster mushrooms was a semi large plate of sliced oyster mushrooms in a very straightforward coriander and chilli dressing - a lot of mushroom! The hanger steak was fantastic and beautifully cooked but came a good 15 mins after all the other stuff we would have mixed and matched with it were gone - so it was just a semi large plate of meat!!
Star of the show - the Freedom Bakery Sourdough and goat’s cheese “custard” - fab! Lovely place but could not have up a bit.
We went for a lunch time deal and were offered two courses and a glass of wine for £15 pounds. This proofed to be excellent value as the meals were of great taste, freshly prepared, well proportioned, and very decoratively served indeed. The staff was very attentive and made us instantly feel welcomed. I can wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone who is looking for a culinary journey at this time of the day.
Amazing restaurant, best dinner out in a while! Staff very helpful would go back
Brilliant experience, service, food, drinks and atmosphere!
Excellent food, terrific service, great addition to the west end food scene we will 100% be coming back!
Our first time at 88 but we had heard good reviews
Our lunch did not disappoint-food was both tasty and imaginative including new ways of presenting beetroot and broccoli not forgetting amazing croquettes
Service attentive-wine list ok but limited
SO IMPRESSED! Just what we have been looking for.
The small plates are just divine! Not too fancy and pretentious, beautiful flavours and beautifully cooked. 5 plates was just right including dessert ... a fantastic panna cotta... it was very special.
The cod was perfect, nottoo wet like some places, but not dry... just fell apart on the fork.
Every dish we had was cooked to perfection....a bonus of a small restaurant with not too many covers.
Never had king oyster mushrooms like that either! so tasty!
We liked that the dishes werent trying to hard, just simple but so well executed.
If they keep up this standard we will be coming back again and again.
Only tip ...maybe do a special that changes each week so we can keep coming back all the time and wont get bored of the menu as it's pretty small!
Really amazing food with even better service! Felt safe and socially distanced even in such a small venue. Our servers were excellent, really helpful with suggestions and could not have been nicer. The food was brilliant, every course was ridiculously good - best meal I've had in Glasgow!
Really friendly service and great concept of small plates. Good food and a great atmosphere
Wine could have been more chilled.
Other than that 👌🏼
Every bite was completely melt in the mouth, it could not have been better. Service was lovely too. Can't wait to go back.
Fantastic service, amazing wine and delicious food. Need i say more?!
Different interesting complex flavours. Some delicious dishes- oyster mushroom dish and chocolate cremeaux were particular highlights. Yum!
Amazing food! Loved the tagliatelle and broccoli in particular, and will be back soon to try the cod with chorizo
Staff were great and knowledgable about the wines, will definitely be back
Delicious dishes, excellent service, attentive staff, loved it!
We eat at 88 on Saturday and it lived up to expectations. the staff, including the chefs, are super friendly and relaxed ad it feels like you're about to eat in a family home rather than a restaurant.
We eat moist things on the menu with the stand out dishes being the cod, broccoli and hanger steak. We should of ordered the pasta too . . .
The general vibe was good too and we'll be back for lunch to try some different dishes. Thoroughly recommended.
Highly recommend. Good wine paired with excellent food. Bravo!
Fantastic food and attentive service. The dishes all had very interesting flavours.
Such a lovely meal. Great service too.
Nice and original place. The food was really tasty.
Fantastic food. Good service. Felt totally covid-19 secure. Every dish was outstanding.
Amazing! Such good food and lovely service - would totally recommend
I thought the food was excellent. Each dish coming one after the other so we could all get a taste of all thr dishes. Service was first class and it was great value.
Amazing food in a lovely atmosphere. Loved it, definitely will be back!
88 never lets you down. Food, service, setting, atmosphere all amazing. One of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow.
Fantastic dinner! We had one of each from the menu and we devoured everything. Amazing food. The veggie plates were fantastic too. Great value. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely delicious food and great service. The perfect place to celebrate my husband's birthday. It's unfair to rate ambience given current restrictions as there was just one other table occupied whilst we were there. I would however recommend Eighty Eight as for an intimate meal. I really hope they survive this challenging time as I can see this becoming a favourite place to mark special occasions.
Amazing food and amazing service! We will definitely be returning to try the rest of the dishes!
