I'm only deducting a star because the toilets were a bit chilly . Food was amazing . I eat at a lot of quality restaurants for work and left here feeling full but not too unhealthily so. Interesting flavours reminiscent of Otolenghi , healthy options , clearly well thought through , perfectly seasoned and someone working here is definitely a 'palate'. I will be back . Im glad to find a decent , well thought through menu at a reasonable price . Well done team !
Great meal super staff thank you we had a great evening
The food is absolutely delicious. I can honestly say it's the best restaurant food I've ever eaten, anywhere.
The tasting menu was very good! Extremely good value for money also. I would highly recommend. The food was lovely the cocktails were delicious and very aesthetically pleasing. The resuraunt has a lovely up-market feel but isn't fussy or pretensious and has a really nice ambience, the noise levels were good it wasnt noisy but it also wasn't so quiet you felt awkward talking. All the waitresses who served us were so lovely knew the menu and the food really well and couldnt do enough for you, would definitely return and would definitely recommend to others thank you again.
Interesting menu, delicious food, great service… we’ll definitely be back very soon!
Small but perfectly pitched. Delicious food. Caters very well to non meat eaters. Could do with some carbs on the menu but not a criticism. Amazing selection of wines with the Basque Country bottle being a revelation. Staff knowledgeable and very friendly. Will be back again and again!
Amazing food, great combination of flavours. Delicious desserts and attentive staff. Been twice and will definitely be going back soon.
Could not have been better! Thank you and well done
I've never had a bad meal here. It's my favourite restaurant in Glasgow!
First time here and had a really lovely meal. Service was quick without being rushed, staff were all really friendly and the restaurant was very accommodating of a nut allergy, able to adapt dishes to give us a greater range of options. Music was a good volume to give nice atmosphere without being too loud to talk over. We were a bit too warm but that's a very minor gripe on an otherwise great visit!
delicious, highly recommend the tasting menu on the Monday - we also tried bits from the normal menu, couldn't fault our experience here
Disappointing- I didn’t really like the food very much. The veggie menu was a lot of tofu… not great value for money, we were expecting something much nicer. There was plenty of food though which is a positive.
Enjoyed a fantastic meal on Christmas Eve.
The food was amazing the service was excellent and the atmosphere lovely.
Can't wait to go back.
Friendlier efficient service. Great food . We will b back
Excellent food. Good casual atmosphere.
A wonderful cosy wee spot in the heart of the west end. Delicious food and drink and a fabulous atmosphere!
Amazing, haven’t been for a while due to lockdown but so glad to go back. The food was fantastic and the service was amazing.
The food and service was amazing - could not fault it!
Lovely food, love the cosy atmosphere and lovely staff!
Found eighty eight by accident but what a find. The kitchen is open and the small size helps with the ambiance. The food was amazing small plates of tapas and we will return to try the rest. Brilliant staff too.
This place is a wee gem just off the bottom of Byres road and is perfect for intimate dinners for 2-4 people. Service was brilliant too, lovely staff.
Small interesting plates with loads of interesting mixed textures and tastes - you'll need maybe three each. Mostly vegetarian - we got the impression that the non-V choices were there for the opposite reason that non-V restaurants have one vegetarian choice. The place is much smaller than I expected!
Great range of food on the Monday evening offer , delicious marmite butter!!
And of course fantastic service as always
We’ll be back 😁
What an experience! Just delightful, from being greeted by the most courteous and charming staff, who obviously cares about the food they were preparing and serving, to the quality of the food itself… everything was a truly memorable treat. Thank you for making a special day even more special!
Could not recommend more, the atmosphere, the staff, and the food was outstanding, so fresh and exciting! Will definitely be back. Cocktails very great too!
The food and service was great! Highly recommend.
My fav go to restaurant in Glasgow especially on Monday night when they offer their tasting menu. A showcase of their creative talents which is sublime, thoughtfully created, incredibly well priced and delicious. Cosy and bijou with an intimate and easy interior you can sink into and enjoy. I even Shazam some of their music which is as cool as the guys who work there. 5*
Delicious food, great service, cosy dining.
The food was wonderful , but venue felt a little cramped and quite noisy with music playing and everyone talking louder to be heard I suspect.
Don't typically write reviews but this is the 3rd time I've been to the 88 and it's been brilliant each visit. Took a party of four and we tanned the whole menu
Great ambience and very good selection of small plates. Excellent service and with some tables clearly intent on enjoying themselves noise levels were high although to be fair our waitress off her own bat moved us to a quieter table which was much appreciated. First time here in its present guise and we shall be back.
Incredible food, Incredible service and pretty cheap considering the quality of the food. The best place to go for a nice lunch
Went there for the Monday tasting menu £25 pp. I’m not in favour of some of dishes. But their presentation was top class. Loved the pork fillet and the final dessert!
Foods great but feel like a bit of a mug paying £80 for 1 bottle of wine & 4 small plates between 2 people. We left still hungry, ended up getting a takeaway from across the road.
Delicious small plates
Tasty and varied
We had such an amazing meal at Eighty Eight. The restaurant has a wonderful welcoming and cosy atmosphere and the staff were lovely and friendly and made us comfortable. We had some of the tastiest food I have ever eaten! Every dish was unique and genuinely delicious. We especially loved the tender stem broccoli and the mushroom tagliatelle, we even ordered more of them because they were SO good. Thank you for such a special evening and we can't wait to come back.
Hi Leah, Thank you for coming! It was a pleasure to have you dined with us. We loved the tender stem broccoli and the mushroom tagliatelle too! Hopefully, these dishes will still be available on the menu until your next visit. Looking forward to seeing you again soon! Many thanks, Eighty Eight
Excellent restaurant, fantastic food and service, will definitely go again.
Hi Alex, We can't wait to welcome you back again soon! Best, Eighty Eight
Really lovely food and lovely small restaurant. Very friendly staff and good wine list. Only fault was could be slightly larger portions! Overall a very enjoyable meal!
Food was good, not spectacular - catered very well to an omnivore and a vegetarian. Was a little slow to get going and that then resulted in the end of the meal feeling very rushed. The server was clearly anxious regarding the next table but it felt pushy - she told us we only had half an hour when we had 45 minutes, told us that the next diners had arrived when actually they were 10 minutes early. For the tasting menu longer should be left between bookings so that the full experience can be enjoyed without feeling rushed. We also would have been happy to receive more plates at the same time. If we went back we both said we wouldn’t do the sharing menu again but would just choose a few plates from the menu.
The restaurant is also very small, and whilst not much can be done about that if I’d been the girl on the next table that had to sit right next to the door for the toilet I would have been a bit annoyed.
Hi Iona, We do apologise for causing you to feel rushed. The pacing and delivery of dishes depend on the guests, so this kind of situation can be avoided. In this incident, we extended your dining slot by 45 minutes on top of the original 2-hour slot to allow you to finish the last two courses. We'd love to let our guests stay longer but it is a constant battle for us to fit everyone in on time. We look forward to welcoming you back again hopefully on a less hectic day. Best, Eighty Eight
Great small restaurant warm welcome good service menu good choice and of a size that allows the kitchen to produce quality food.
