Service was really good. All welcoming. Food very average. I have eaten smorrebrod in Copenaghen, totally different level. And also here in London there is another scandinavia Kitchen, cheaper where food is better.
The food was delicious and the staff happy and friendly. We were served promptly. I have lived in Sweden and the dishes brought back memories for me. For the centre of London this was a reasonably priced menu. We will certainly come back again.
Came for lunch for the second time, restaurant was full but even so service and food was v slow. Food quality was good like last time - consistent. Service a bit rushed. Ambiance good.
I’ve been here four times, both lunch and evening meals and the food is always amazing. The service is good and there are always different things on the menu to try. Have taken friends there and all have commended me on my great choice of restaurant. Will certainly go again.
Amazing food, great cocktails, fantastic food, the most awesome chef and good value for money.
Service was unacceptably slow and the food was very average
We were disappointed - struggled to find anything we really liked on the menu (nothing stood out) and couldn't understand how many open sandwiches to order for one person (ambiguous note on the menu). Service was slow and tentative, and overall this was quite an expensive meal. We will probably look elsewhere in the Bloomberg Arcade next time.
Very very slow service - the same person that was waiting the tables was also manning the coffee station area - not ideal for breakfast time in this area when it is clearly going to be full of business meetings.
It took almost 25 mins for someone to take our order and another 15 mins to bring our food, and given that we ordered egg on toast, I was struggling to figure out why.
I specifically asked for no black pepper on my food and the eggs came covered in it so the plate had to be sent back and I waited even longer. The server told me he thought I only didn’t want pepper on my avocado (which puzzled both me and my guest because I said nothing of the sort) but even still, staff should be trained to ask if it is an allergy to ensure there are no serious incidents.
Lastly, when we paid the bill, the server walked off without even offering us receipts and I had to call after him to request them.
Again, business area, people are likely to need these. Please train people.
Overall, food was fine, coffee was nice, but service needs improvement.
Nice and different from the many other cuisines available in the CIty. Good food, service and drink selection.
I am in a small book club. We need somewhere with an acceptable noise level so we can hold a discussion. The on line booking enabled me to request avquiet table. The waitress was attentive and food delicious. An emjoyable evening. We will go again.
Excellent food, environment and staff but for the second time both I and friends experienced headaches from the wine we had. Place would really benefit from changing their wine list.
Genuinely amazing experience. Food was sensational, the manager, I think her name was Kami, bent over backwards to make sure we had a table despite booking at the wrong time and was hilarious. Thanks so much!
I am danish and I loved it. Tasted like home!!
Third time we’ve been. Lovely food. But price probably for special occasions.
Nice lunch place, good for groups too. Food was delightful.
Lovely staff, amazing food. One of those dinners where you’re a little sad after every bite because it means you’re that much closer to being finished.
Ekte is a hidden gem right in the middle of Bank. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. We went for the crayfish party and asked the waiter for the best way to open our crayfish. He was kind enough to bring the chef out who playfully and knowledgeably showed us the best way to eat them. I would definitely recommend Ekte, and I will be back again!
Service was a little slow - but the food was good.
I’ll definitely return
Delicious fresh food with a good choice, although not a large selection. Very friendly service, quite a slow, chilled pace. Been quite a few times and would definitely recommend.
Probably the best restaurant in the Bloomberg arcade. I have been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and am always a satisfied customer. This time lunch was outside but it did not feel any worse. The food is good - extra points for bringing out a side dish we added on late at the same time as the mains - the service was just right and the wine delicious.
Enjoyable Nordic food, in a very scandi space. Nice service, though our waitress seemed a bit unsure of what to do at times. Steak tartare definitely recommended, and the various juices are very good.
A restaurant of calibre far beyond what we expected. Food was fantastically well though-out and the waiter was funny, polite, helpful and attentive. We went with his recommendations throughout! Without a single disappointment.
Quieter than the other places around but all the more relaxing for it. We went for dinner and will be coming back for lunch. Strongly recommended. Try the Nordic Aperol Spritz!
Service kept coming at the wrong time to check on us. Some food was well overpriced. But tasty
exciting food. good service. good value. good location.
Really tasty light, healthy food options perfect for the summer!
Had a chicken salad which was chicken and potatoes, although I expected some
Perhaps the most unprofessional service I’ve had in London. Endless wait to take our order, starters were forgotten at the pass for 20 minutes (we could see them there...), no attention whatsoever - and it’s a real shame because the cooking is good. Sadly the service ruined the experience entirely.
Was really excited to try this restaurant.
Hmmm mixed feelings; service was very hit or miss. Set menu was not explained clearly. Anything we ordered was not available (would have been easier to state both things at the beginning). Won’t be in a rush to go back!
I was ordering from the Set Menu, and all the options were very strong and reasonably priced. I hadn’t had Swedish meatballs best or lingonberries but that dish was so well balanced and cooked perfectly - I might go back just for that one dish alone! The service was brilliant and the background music added to the ambiance. I definitely recommend it!
Great food, excellent for a warm day! Outside tables pleasant and good service.
We were the only group in the restaurant and they looked after us well
Although pricey for what it is, the quality is good. The lamb and the beef was delicious.
The meatballs were really good, as were the desserts and drinks. I liked the ambiance, which was chic yet relaxed. There were lots of different diners - couples, work dinners, single diners etc so it is suitable for a diverse range of diners :) Definitely recommend!
Consistently excellent food, Ekte is a solid choice for eating in the City. This time we visited with a toddler in tow (admittedly not their usual clientele) and were pleasantly surprised at discovering that they had high chairs and changing station in the bathrooms. We have been made feel so welcome by all staff, including the chef who was happy to explain to the little one what he was doing. Thank you!
The frikadeller where so good!
First time at Ekte and enjoyed a quick dinner. My smoked salmon and deep-fried plaice were good. The service was attentive and arranged for the plaice dish to come without a curry sauce. The atmosphere was a bit dull but probably not for most diners who were arranged along the windows with the body of the restaurant empty apart from me.
We ate here on Saturday lunchtime. Hadn't realised that weekend menu was brunch or just a few other dishes, not the main menu. However we all found something to eat. We had the mixed snittel plater along with some small plates each for starters which were all delicious. We all decided on the Bikesmad (Nordic hash) which we all thoroughly enjoyed. All in all very impressed with the food.
Service could have been better when we arrived, we sat for quite a while before being offered drinks. Only a few other tables were seated so it wasn't as if they were very busy.
Very nice, so happy this place to have lunch with my mum, we both love Scandivian food. I wish there could have been a few more dishes on the menu but what we chose was delicious.
Why does the whole table have to order from the sane menu?
Why does 2 course mean starter and main?
Why can’t it be main and dessert?
All other restaurants’ set menu permits the options.
Why not you?
Not any difficulty for the staff in kitchen.
unfortunately they had a fire alarm and we had to all leave the restaurant.
Did not have the opportunity to try my main.
