I could recommend this restaurant although not the most lively scene during the weekend
Really lovely Sunday brunch here - highly recommend it for the gorgeous food and excellent service
Celebrating my birthday with my wife and pals.
The location is cute and the heaters and IKEA fur rugs for seat covers were nice and kept us warm.
We had high hopes for the food but it wasn’t so great.
The started wasn’t anything special it was quite simple and didn’t seem like it took any sort of talent to make, all the ingredients used were a bit tasteless. Salmon and dill on top of the traditional bread / it looked and tasted quite plain, the beef again was stale and chewy.
The cocktails were good. The wine is also really nice a good pick especially as the Prosecco wasn’t great so we didn’t have high hopes for the wine but we were pleasantly surprised.
The mains were really not great - I ordered the lobster it came served cold which I wasn’t really expecting! It had bits of shell in it and was bland and tasteless served with frozen chips which had been fried, the plates are lush though would love to know where they are from!
The meatballs and mash tasted more like a ready meal - especially the mash. The pickled cucumber was nice.
The desserts again were a let down. The trio of deserts tasted really cheap and like they had been left in a cupboard. The pie was hard and inedible and the cinnamon bun ice cream was not an ice cream. But more like a frothy mouse with cinnamon and sugar over it,
I spoke with the manager Fernanda who kindly removed items from the bill, she was very apologetic and we also got some shots of Shnapps which was a nice little treat. All in all great cocktails but food was dire.
The service was great - funny and great staff Vincent and Daniel treated us well. I would go to this place for drinks only as the drinks and staff are great a but I wouldn’t spend my money here again on food. Seems like their bar is their strong point.
Bottomless brunch was great, glass was continually topped up and the food was really tasty. Terrace was the most pleasant I have sat on - despite the weather we didn't need coats on and the heaters were really good.
Food and bottomless prosecco were great. The server wasn't the best.
I enjoyed it the customer service was so great probably some of the best I’ve come across from everyone there. Food was great we thoroughly enjoyed it was a great birthday because of this place.
Went for dinner on Friday night. Covid conscious, tables well spaced. Waiter Guiseppe very attentive. Food arrived in timely manner and tasted fresh. Fish well cooked. Puddings different. Good dining experience. Recommended
We had lunch at Ekte for the first time last week and were pleasantly surprised.
Most of the stars go for the service from all of their staff, who were very attentive and accommodating, and for the ambience at the outdoor terrace.
The food was good too. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back.
The lady which one show us our table was really rude. The staff been watching us all the time while we had a lunch also all the time when they been staying nearby the waitress hit my friend and didn’t even apologise. On the dessert we find the hair that’s was absolutely terrifying and disgusting. Will never come back and definitely not recommend.
A really really great find, service was amazing and such great value!
Great menu and nice terrace
Good place to chill and drink
very much enjoyed. little bit cold for May. But, we were well looked after.
One of several restaurants in the new Bloomberg arcade we choose Ekte to try somewhere new. It is still pre indoor dining and whilst several tables had heaters ours was located more towards the road so exposed to the elements. The food was fine (average+) and service friendly with no particular issues. We enjoyed a bottle of Muscadet from a short wine list and were not disappointed with our choice - a very underrated Loire wine. For a main course, water, wine and coffee plus a couple of aquavit (it was cold) the damage was £116. We would probably go again - there are just so many places at this price point - so on balance an okay meal if nothing memorable.
Really delicious food and lovely staff
We asked for salmon they served normal fish fries
Food was good, albeit a few things off the menu. Service was not great, no one explained it was bottomless drinks menu, which led to confusion as we kept being offered prosecco despite not wanting to drink. Good outdoor set up with heaters and blankets.
Fantastically set-up terrace. Heat lamps and blankets were available for guests so no need to bring back the big winter coats just to have lunch outside. The set menu option is a good value and provides a decent selection to choose from (meat, pescatarian, veggie, etc.). In terms of the food itself, definitely a couple of steps above a typical quick City lunch with fresh products and a well-paired wine list, but not necessarily one to write home about. Would recommend skipping the cinnamon bun ice cream in favour of the bun itself.
We did the bottomless brunch deal and the food was delicious! Great value for money and the team were friendly and attentive. I will be revisiting next time I’m in London!
Enjoyed the food very much - was a little slow topping up glasses with the bottomless prosecco but a good brunch.
Good bottomless brunch and service was great. Portions for entree and dessert for weekend brunch menu were small but meatballs were quality.
Visited for my 25th birthday and the food was wonderful and tasty! Good prices for the taster menu and good portions, we were very full by the end of the night. Drinks were great as well and the outdoor area had blankets and heaters which kept us warm on the cold evening. The restaurant looks great as well and there was a nice vibe. No bad words to say!
Was a fun brunch. Could of top up champagne more often.
Just cold outside, we were close to the speakers and not close to any heaters, we were given blankets though, service was nice. Food was good but a bit overpriced, but thankful for considering allergies.
Anna at the front of house was amazing in getting us a different table thanks to the elements. The food, atmosphere and evening was fantastic.
My first time at Ekte and overall i was very pleased. The food was really interesting and tasty and despite the outdoor covid rule the service was excellent and with plenty of heaters it felt warm. We were made to feel very welcome by your manager Fernanda who took great care in ensuring we were looked after. Thanks very much.
First time at the restaurant and very impressed. Staff were very friendly and food was delicious. We'll definitely be returning.
Great restaurant. As well as good food (we enjoyed the set menu) and lovely staff, the outdoor is seating is well covered, has heaters and they even provide fluffy blankets - perfect for al fresco eating even when it's chilly.
Nice ambience, service was excellent. However we had the set menu and I would not recommend it. Starters (beef and salmon sandwiches) were on a very dry piece of bland bread. Mains (meatballs and salmon) were over cooked, very dry and bland. Also paid an extra £5 for a cheese board for dessert which literally consisted of 3 finger pieces of cheddar! Overall, a nice atmosphere but food on set menu was abysmal.
Service was fantastic - very friendly staff. Food arrived very quickly. Heaters, blankets and undercover outdoor dining - perfect for spring weather. You’ll still need your jacket though! Tables were spaced out appropriately as well.
Really nice restaurant for lunch- interesting food- nicely presented. Good prices. Great gin list.
We have booked a table for 4, 2 weeks before and then we had to wait for another 30 minutes until it’s ready. Many waiters are new and don’t know how to handle simple issues. They spilled cola over the table and were asking whether we still want to have it. In the end they dared to ask for more tips. The food is brilliant though.
Tasty, fresh food. A bit expensive for the size of portions but it was in keeping with the Scandinavian vibe!
Covered outdoor seating so it was good for any weather and some heaters dotted around and blankets on seats too for staying warm.
Pritam provided excellent service. Very attentive and helpful.
The restaurant had good heaters for outdoor dining and blankets as well.
Food was tasty but slightly over priced for what it was/ portion sizes.
The food was great, service outstanding! But the portion to price size isn't optimal.
It is a great outside location. My only complaint relates to the fact that on a Saturday evening they only offered a set menu. We had some members of the party who just wanted some snacks or a meal without committing to the full set menu, which wasn't permitted and this was disappointing.
Positives: We enjoyed my birthday dinner, the ambience was nice. We tried the 3 course menu & drank Prosecco and wine, we felt the food portions were a good size and the price was right as well as excellent presentation of the dishes. Also there was a genuinely nice ambience and the heaters were appreciated.
Negatives: We had to ask a couple of times to be served and for cutlery twice, our food arrived for our main when our starter plates hadn’t been removed. I had to put my hand up and get out of my seat many times as we were just forgotten about, it seems like the waiters cover the whole place not specific territories so it is a mess in terms of organisation.
We also weren’t sure about the smoked salmon main, it didn’t taste like the fish was fresh however the rest of the dish was delicious I loved the dill and potatoes.
Overall: we would return however as veggie pescatarians we have probably covered the menu now. Service would really turn us off returning though. We felt it was good value which is hard to find in London and the servers were apologetic for the many mistakes but we decided not to tip because of this.
Hope this helps!
Just been for a lovely outdoor terrace experience bottomless👍👏👏 brunch .the food was gorgeous superb tasting salmon and frikadeller.enjoyed the setting lovely heaters and blankets provided 🤗good service
We enjoyed a lovely brunch. Great heaters. Lovely staff, food was delicious, we had the lobster. Glasses were kept topped up. And at the end when we had to give up our table for the next booking, our lovely waitress had a spot at the outside bar tables waiting for us so we didn’t have to leave straight away, and we stayed for more cocktails. Fab.
Food was great and the waiter was good fun
