Loved it!! Food was so good! Highly recommend!!!
Food was really nice. Service was not great, waitresses were quite rude and made us wait 15 minutes for a table that I booked a month early.
We booked for our anniversary and we had a good time
Delicious!!! Food was fab. Def recommend the chive gin
A beautiful meal with excellent service. We will be back.
It is wonderful to have Ekte back, great food and service as always,
We were seated quickly and the service was friendly. However the service was a bit slow, and it felt like we got the only table without a heater! It was good, small, rich food and 3 courses for £25 was a good deal. Thank you!
Large covered outdoor area. In the shade but with multiple heaters so not too chilly. Service was prompt and friendly. Larger drinks selection than displayed online, including beers and ciders.
Didn't really have food but you're not allowed to submit without rating that as well. Had bread though, yum!
Great service - had to leave table but got looked after on a high bench with heater so able to enjoy the afternoon !
Overall a bit disappointing.
My girlfriend and I booked a table to celebrate our 6th monthiversary and to take advantage of the lifting of eating out restrictions. We arrived on time to the minute for our booking, yet we were asked to wait for our table to be made ready. We waited for about 15 minutes and were not offered any drinks while we waited (we waited in the drinks-only area).
Once the table was ready, we were seated near the speakers, which were quite loud, so when combined with the general background noise, made it difficult to hold a conversation. We asked to be moved to a more quiet table, but unfortunately there were none available, which is understandable as the restrictions have just been lifted and service is only outdoors. However the worst part of the experience by far were the waiting times. Our booking was for 9pm and we only received our meals at around 9:50. The waiter seemed to be serving too large a section of tables, and although he was very friendly and took care to check if we were fine, he was clearly overwhelmed by the amount of tables he was serving. My guess is that the restaurant underestimated the amount of staff required to operate the outdoor sections after re-opening.
The food was good overall and the portions generous, however we felt they were a bit overpriced for what they were, specially the open sandwiches. The presentation was neat however, and cutlery and plates were clean. The waiter did bring us the wrong bottle of wine at first, but he rectified and got the wrong one in the end. He can’t really be blamed for that, as his shift must have been hectic.
So to conclude, we felt that this restaurant has much positive potential, but they need to polish their operations a bit and ensure that they have all the staff they need and not to overbook. We would gladly have spent more in the restaurant had the overall service been more efficient.
Wonderful atmosphere and good service. Tasty food. New organic beer on tap not so good... I recommend you go back to your previous offering.
The food is usually very good at Ekte and my visit was no exception. What was pleasing is that on return from lockdown the service was much improved. Possibly a new team. Service was attentive, helpful and fast.
The ambience was fine. Colourful blankets cheered up the arcade setting. Large practical parasols with effective heaters completed a fine experience
£27 for 4 pints is a joke! They should not add service charge for drinks which just makes it completely overpriced - the price of the pints are £6 anyway, simply no justification for such extreme prices - I know its in the centre of London (City) but nevertheless. Overall its a pretty decent place and the staff are helpful but just be aware that if you just want to go for a couple of pints then it may be a bit of a shock!
Nice outdoor space and the staffs were amazing and kind to our request
The service was badly organised and members of staff were overwhelmed.
The staff were lovely and really attentive but the food was unfortunately really ordinary. It was overpriced and limited in range, and portion size for the potato dumplings was really small. It was disappointing for a main meal.
Despite small portions, food itself was delicious and I really enjoyed it - only wish there was more of it. The dumplings and the meatballs were amazing. Could have done with more veggie options on the menu.
Unfortunately service was extremely slow, we got brought other guest's food, and our starters never arrived, which was a shame. We were there almost 3 hours, and not out of choice, but because it took that long end-to-end even though we only ate one main dish each. Happy to appreciate they had just reopened after Covid and they're finding their feet again, and would give it a second chance assuming this aspect improves.
Great location, handling outside drinking and dining really well with attentive service.
Overall a good experience. But the rye bread was not dark enough for my taste. And the Frikadeller was not really Danish frikadeller but Swedish kjøttboller.
There was no heaters
There was hardly any scrimp in the Skagen
Main issue was that one of the orders was mistaken and that by the time the confusing was dealt with, the kitchen had closed. Otherwise the food was ok. Price-wise its ok.
Fantatsic service, delish food and ambience was great
Ekte has great staff, food, drinks, location and setting.
Food - unbelievable, ambience and environment were just lovely, just one negative thing - somebody kept leaving the main door open so we could feel a freezing breeze at our table.
A very pleasant unexpected surprised. Relaxed dining, nice food and good music. The staff were lovely though the room itself was a little cold feeling not very cosy and loos bit messy with paper.
Clean, smart decor, pleasant attentive staff, nice combinations of flavours especially the meatballs/lingonberries. Nice range of drinks/cocktails.
We went for the £25 set menu option and it didn’t disappoint. All three courses were delicious and the chocolate cake was probably one of the best I’ve tried! Highly recommend the rare beef starter and meatballs main. The G&T was a steal as part of the set menu too. We were a mixed household so requested to sit outside - heaters and umbrellas ensured we were comfortable and toasty throughout the meal. There was a real buzz outside as I think majority were sitting outdoors! Looking forward to returning already.
Great food, well presented with great service and ambience. Would definitely go back.
The service was nice and the food even better. looking forward to go to Ekte again
Affordable and nice ambiance. Recommended for a date or meeting with friends
I obviously haven't been to Ekte as much as I'd like this year but the food is still excellent, and the staff very hospitable
Delightful staff, menu just a little different to the usual pan European fare, lovely space. Highly recommended
Went for a date with my girlfriend, ordered from the fixed menu, which was very fair value. We were absolutely delighted by the food, even the familiar dishes had integrated delicious new flavors that I couldn’t quite place. Great service too. Overall I’m highly impressed and would go back. Dessert also great, the chocolate one significantly exceeded expectations.
The place was understaffed and staff were very stressed.
This was unfortunate because it really impacted the service. Food was ok. We got the set menu, which came with a drink. No drink and we had to ask for the set menu twice.
Food was pretty bland, underseasoned.
Sadly we were really disappointed . However they did have a good wine selection.
Amazing food and v great service
Wonderful to have the continued eat out to help out scheme!
Great service and attention to the table
Great food and wines. Enjoy the Scandinavian food and great service!
Excellent venue for a City lunch - great food, well-presented, excellent and friendly service.
Unfortunately the food let the restaurant down. I am a regular at Ekte and normally love it but this time most of us felt like a stomach bug after.
I hope this was a one off unfortunate event.
