Overserved people on the patio-we had to move inside. Not enough waitstaff --service was extremely slow. Was brought the wrong mixed drink-twice. Restaurant was dirty-chairs stacked up in the corners.
Tamale entree was the best dish we had. We will return for another meal soon.
The music was too loud. The food was not as good as it used to be. The drinks were way too expensive. The queso was bland. Apparently we were seated under an air conditioner vent even though many other tables were available and we were blasted with cold air. I am hot natured and I was cold. They tried but failed. I will not be returning.
Love the food
Will order takeout so I do not have to yell to be heard by my friends
Our server did amazing. He was the bartender making all of the restaurant's drinks and he was able to still make my experience very good. The Paloma's drinks where amazing, I highly recommend them. The food was surprisingly delicious, just a bit overpriced. My fiance ordered the rib eye steak and he absolutely loved it but he did wish to have larger sides, with it being such an expensive dish. Overall I can't wait to go back and have some Palomas and some yummy food!
The best thing about this place is the chips and salsa the quest bas bland and too thin. Don’t order the chicken street tacos- I’m not a picky eater- but these tasted like licorice! My girlfriend tasted a bite and spit it out! Her empanadas were good though! The margaritas were mediocre and at 12$ each for the small glass- I wouldn’t do it again! Our waiter was great and attentive and I tipped him well because he doesn’t cook the food!
Great waiter and hostess to greet and
accommodate during the visit. If you come and Leanne hungry it’s your own fault. Get the Rey Margarita. 😉
Went for HH because of their $5 margaritas. The margaritas were so sweet and had little alcohol. I assume the point is to get you in the restaurant and then you’ll start ordering regular priced drinks because of the HH margaritas not being good. Also, major fly problem in that place. Had to swat them away the entire time I was there. I didn’t eat the food. Also, service was good!
Great atmosphere, great food, strong drinks, overall a great time.
Very short handed, service was not so great. They dropped the homemade cheesecake my friend made after we told them to be very careful. Manager took it as a joke and brought a bottle of champagne that was not good at all. Our reservation was at 7 and we got seated at 7:30.
Get the Molcahete! It’s a great family style eating experience. The dusting on the chips was tasty and salsas was fire roasted. Yum.
The vibe was very hip and the service was excellent. Check them out!
We had the Molcajete and the shrimp were over cooked and the carne asada was tough. Drinks are over priced for what you get.
Server put in wrong order & waited over an hour for it when it wasn’t even that busy, & still got charged full price for the inconvenience.
Fui con mi familia y pasamos un rato agradable en este restaurante.
Incredible!! Delicious drinks and fantastic food! Salsa trio and watermelon social punch are a must!!
Super good food. Chips and salsa were amazing. Maybe the best I’ve had. The atmosphere was upbeat. Energetic. High quality Latin food at its best.
1. Servers were inattentive. Waters filled once the whole night.
2. Drinks tasted like they used the same shakers to make everyone’s drink without washing after each drink.
3. Table wabbled and I had to fix it myself
4. They forgot half of my date’s meal
5. Surprisingly the actual meal itself was fantastic in taste. Highly recommend the snapper and the seared tuna.
Overall value for the service and cost we paid just didn’t add up.
I was very disappointed in this restaurant. The food was just okay, not great at all. Slightly overpriced for the quality. The dishes served in the hot bowls tend to overcook while sitting. The queso blanco had a weird, scorched milk taste. The service was great, but I do not plan to try it again.
Ordered fajitas but was given quesadillas. Service was great up until food arrived then it was underwhelming. Took over 5+ minutes to get a refill on water.
They were understaffed. The appetizer we ordered never did arrive, even after we asked about it but they still charged us. We asked for some additional items to go with our fajitas when they arrived and that never came. No one checked on us. We had to go to the bar to ask for our check. This place was recommended but I found it to be lacking.
A wonderful restaurant & our waiter was so kind & patient with how busy the restaurant was.
First time here and it was good! The food taste authentic and the drinks were delicious! I’d definitely go back and let others know about it too.
Had the seared tuna, it was incredible! Pineapple margarita was very delicious as well! Loved the overall vibe of the place and enjoyed our time there. Can’t wait to come back!
Our food took awhile even though we were one of 5 tables in the entire restaurant.
I only gave 4 stars for service because they just didn’t have enough staff. I really feel badly for restaurants right now. The manager and the hostess were pitching in. Despite just a bit of slow service we loved the first try of this restaurant. The Reaper Margarita was one of my all time favorites.
Entering El Bolero I was shocked to see how small the place was. Which is not a problem. It was a Saturday afternoon so at the time they had a DJ on duty which normally isn't a problem, but the music was SO loud that it was difficult to hold a conversation. When the waiter FINALLY arrived he couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear him because of the music. The wait staff wore masks which is a good thing. He had to come closer to get our orders so that kinda defeats the purpose. I ordered calamari for my appetizer, they forgot to cook it.. so my appetizer came about 2 minutes before our main dish. The food was SO SO, kinda bland in my opinion. My wife ordered a margarita and she said it was delicious so that was one good thing that happened that day. Unfortunately I will not be going back.
I shall return. Had the crab relleno, and it was delicious
Unique twist on Mexican food and great cocktails.
Uncomfortable chairs, not allergy sensitive
The music was too loud. We had a group of 7 and could not hear each other talk and were having to raise our voice to be heard. We mentioned the noise to our server and she was really sweet, but the noise level didn't change.
Amazing food and drinks. Very attentive wait staff. The food was amazing.
Quaeso lacked flavor. Portion for fajitas was small.
Wonderful food & Drinks
Angel was amazing! Definitely will come back just because of how great he was during our time there!
Food was bland at best
Good food. Ridiculously slow service. That seems to be the norm in many restaurants now though and the severs were doing their best they just seemed to be very short-handed.
El Bolero is always a wonderful experience! Everything is great. The food, the ambiance, the drinks, the staff. You won't be dissapointed. This is the reason we always come back.
I love this place. Our service was excellent, the food was great, cool location. I like the gold speckled (rather expensive) oil man margarita as a treat when I go there. Worth a little extra $. Overall, a really nice place to eat!
Terrible experience. Food and service was pretty bad. My daughter ordered a cheese quesadilla and got a chicken quesadilla. So they remade a chicken quesadilla again for her. Never did get a cheese quesadilla. Never received some drinks ordered. Had to ask multiple times for water. Ordered sunny side up eggs, got over hard. There were many other issues. Just a terrible experience all around. Staff was not warm or inviting. We were very kind & just felt like we were bothering them by coming to their restaurant. Many items we didn’t send back, we honestly just felt bad complaining. But the items we did send back never were made correctly.
This just wasn’t the restaurant for me. I didn’t love the tortilla chips, my enchiladas were bland, and my drink (the reaper margarita) was way too sweet. I’m sure other people would enjoy it more. I’m a little picky with Mexican or Tex-mex.
That being said, the service was great, and the decor was very cool.
