El Camion Soho
We operate a hour and a half turn time on all restaurant tables and please keep in mind that we also serve a slightly reduced menu after 10.30 Monday through Saturday
A great place to grab a quick bite pre-theatre. We weren't on the margaritas but this was clearly the place to be to sample a wide range. Really friendly staff and good food.
The service was very slow and chaotic. It seemed as if short on staff that resulted in painfully long waits. The food tasted burnt.
Visiting old friend
I loved it but definitely not suitable for children or those that don't like spice. I know that sounds obvious but when booking 4+ you often have varying diets/tastes, these aren't catered for.
I'm a veggie and enjoyed it.
Menu could easily add a bit more choice for people who want something full of flavour but not spicy.
Great frozen margaritas of various flavours, rather authentic Tex/Mex style fair, fun location in SoHo. Good place to start a night out with a small group of friends.
Always a great vibe
Brilliant food. Great service. My favourite restaurant and go to spot every time I am in London. Always recommend all family and friends pay it a visit. Thanks for a great evening as always!
Always a pleasant time
Dingy and unclean with little atmosphere. Expectations were far higher and would not recommend dining here. Much smaller than anticipated and staff were generally taciturn. Soho location means it is near to transport links and a vibrant atmosphere but El Camion appears a bit tired in comparison with chain competitors Wahaca on Wardour Street and even La Bodegra Negra at the top of Old Compton Street. In need of a revamp and a bit of creativity to revive what I am sure was once an exciting place to dine.
Fun vibe, good service and food and margaritas were yummy too!
Excellent service - casual but attentive. Food was served in a timely manner - also nice to see that other customers were enjoying the same. Thoroughly reccomend.
Great place for nachos, tacos, burritos, margaritas, tequila and all things Mexican. Delicious food at great value. I recommend the Black bean and jalepino nachos and the taco platter for a really tasty sharing meal! Always first port of call for tacos, with an immense selection of hot sauces!
Food was luke warm / cold
Odour from toilets downstairs hits you as you walk in which rather taints the whole experience!
Food was ok but rather bland for a Mexican and mains were a bit stodgy. Inexpensive I suppose but we were disappointed.
The food was amazing and I loved the frozen margaritas but it was quite expensive - would be better in future if there were some drinks deals
Great food at a reasonable price, service could have been better!
amazing food for super good price cant wait to go back
It's a shame because the actual restaurant is really cool; the interior and style and features like the hot sauce wall are nice. But the food is poor. The service is strange. We ordered our starter of nachos and before we could order our main, the waiter just walked off without saying anything - we weren't sure if he had even taken our order. One of the waitress' didn't seem to know where she was taking the food and brought the wrong dishes to our table multiple times.
My partner liked the nachos, but I didn't, they were too mushy and cold and tasted like they had been sat out for some time. The mains did not taste nice. We both had enchilladas, and they just tasted bad. You can make nicer enchilladas from the Old El Paso kit. We had a side of spicy rice to go with it, and that was plain and didn't taste good either. Seriously, save your money and go somewhere else!
While the meal was fantastic and delicious, the margaritas were WAY overpriced as was the food. Great food. The pomegranate margarita was good but my meal consisting of chips/guacamole, margarita and a bean burrito totaled around $30 USD. Too expensive for what it was.
Lovely atmosphere and nice food! Great staff as well
Buzzy venue, super friendly attentive staff, superb Margaritas
Overpriced bland Tacos and terrible service despite Monday evening being very quiet. Still, they charged a service charge on the bill for a table of two.
Delish fresh food. Excellent large frozen margaritas. Good value for Monday. Waitstaff totally on it, friendly and efficient.
Would totally recommend.
I'm a fan of El Camion and go regularly. It rarely disappoints, the food is great and there's usually a fun atmosphere. Occasionally the service is a little slow (weirdly, especially when it's empty) but you can rely on it for quick and tasty Mexican. The cocktail bar downstairs is a hidden gem, open until 3am nearly every night.
I visited this place with a friend.
We had few drinks and platter to share. The food was nice as well as the atmosphere. Unfortunately the service was a bit slow.
food is good. Nice choice on menu. Our server was very helpful. The downside: Tables for 2 are a bit small, hence not so comfortable, and stairs down to toilets steep.
Wasn't open, falsely advertised... Need to be better in future.
Great place for Mexican cuisine lovers! Fast service, excellent location 🙂
Great drinks, great food and friendly staff.
Great cocktails, good food, surly service though. Could try harder to provide a friendly smiling service in the restaurant.
The restaurant is good value for money and has some very interesting options. The service was very rushed.
Really enjoyed the food and ambience, staff were really lovely and not obtrusive. The late night downstairs bar with great dj and v polite door staff was also a gem of a find. Lovely cocktails and extremely tasty authentic Mexican snack food. Will return for sure x
We booked as a large group and the team were very accommodating. The sharing platters were delicious and a great option for a split-bill scenario.
This restaurant was fine but completely overpriced for what it was
a burrito, 2 margaritas and shared nachos and dip cost me and my friend £35 each, madness!
Really good Mexican, cute atmosphere and good value for London
Gracias Georgia! See you soon1
Decent food and value for money, good selection of Mexican food
Gracias JunN, We're glad you liked it!
Love the boilermaker and love the feking great food
Butternut squash tostadas were sublime. Authentic food, fresh ingredients, helpful friendly service. On our list for regular visits
I love love love this place. It's my fav Mexican in London.
It's situated in the heart of Brewer Street so the atmosphere and ambient is fun and energetic. The staff and service are very casual and relaxed, so as food and drink menu. Tortilla chips were not homemade, and salsa and guacamole dips were disappointing, but mixed platter was great for sharing by three and very good value. The crispy tacos was very tasty and the fillings were good quality for the price. Overall it was a good place to hang around for a casual occasion.
