El Camion Soho
We operate a hour and a half turn time on all restaurant tables and please keep in mind that we also serve a slightly reduced menu after 10.30 Monday through Saturday
Very noisy! The place seems to be more bar than restaurant. The food selection was good and tasty. We were told that one dish per person was enough but a plate of tacos had 4 mini tacos which don’t feel like a full meal.
The servers were friendly but overwhelmed and our extra drink and dessert order didn’t get processed so we were waiting for a long time.
Won’t be rushing back
Food was good but nothing extraordinary for the price. Music was far too loud but service and decor were great.
Twice as expensive as other comparable Mexican restaurants in London and half as good
Great food and great service. A good find and will return.
Food nice, service good, but bottled beer was warm which was disappointing due to the price of the beer.
I really like El camion sincefirst time I visited it
The quesadillas were really nice and the churros were so sweet and delicious. It’s a nice cute place I would definitely go there again. The waiter was really friendly aswell, good atmosphere.
Tacos were great (chicken and beef). Spiced potatoes were a great side dish and the churros were lovely too. Loved the margaritas and the white Rioja tasted great and was reasonably priced. Had a lovely long lunch catchup with a friend. Our waitress was really friendly, we had a great time and would recommend.
Below average food and pretty small portions. The frozen margarita was terrible.
Compared to all the other mexican resturants I have been too, El Camino has swayed me away! The food was honestly so amazing and the bar downstairs was really fun!
Fabulous restaurant, service was relaxed but attentive and helpful. Food was so fresh-can tell the soft wraps were brill! Passionfruit frozen margarita I highly recommend. Can’t fault a thing, def will be back. Would recommend booking as it’s busy but a great atmosphere
Good food and nice atmosphere, even if maybe a little bit too noisy. I'll return there when craving Mexican food!
My wife and I visited on a Saturday evening. We had the rack of 9 tacos and an enchilada plus a couple of margaritas each. We've had a lot of Mexican food in our time but this was absolutely stunning! Not too heavy, just full of flavour and delicious. The atmosphere was buzzing and the service was good too. What a brilliant place!
The food was re nice. The portion sizes were not the biggest but apart from that it was nice. Enjoyed the cocktails. The staff were all really friendly and would attend to your needs. The restaurant itself was cosy to it in.
Took the kids to have Mexican food for the first time. Very knowledgeable waiter. Kids had fun. Hilarious hot sauce labels but very flavourful.
The Mexican place across the street appeared to be far busier, but we were in no disappointed by the food at El Camion. The pork enchiladas and mushroom & queso tacos were both great.
Real hidden gem this place, tucked away but amazing food and place, nice little bar area downstairs for a drink before or after
Amazing tacos and interesting flavoured beers! Would def go again!
El Camion was excellent, as it always is. Strongly recommended.
A great place to grab a quick bite pre-theatre. We weren't on the margaritas but this was clearly the place to be to sample a wide range. Really friendly staff and good food.
The service was very slow and chaotic. It seemed as if short on staff that resulted in painfully long waits. The food tasted burnt.
Visiting old friend
I loved it but definitely not suitable for children or those that don't like spice. I know that sounds obvious but when booking 4+ you often have varying diets/tastes, these aren't catered for.
I'm a veggie and enjoyed it.
Menu could easily add a bit more choice for people who want something full of flavour but not spicy.
Great frozen margaritas of various flavours, rather authentic Tex/Mex style fair, fun location in SoHo. Good place to start a night out with a small group of friends.
Always a great vibe
Brilliant food. Great service. My favourite restaurant and go to spot every time I am in London. Always recommend all family and friends pay it a visit. Thanks for a great evening as always!
Always a pleasant time
Dingy and unclean with little atmosphere. Expectations were far higher and would not recommend dining here. Much smaller than anticipated and staff were generally taciturn. Soho location means it is near to transport links and a vibrant atmosphere but El Camion appears a bit tired in comparison with chain competitors Wahaca on Wardour Street and even La Bodegra Negra at the top of Old Compton Street. In need of a revamp and a bit of creativity to revive what I am sure was once an exciting place to dine.
Fun vibe, good service and food and margaritas were yummy too!
Excellent service - casual but attentive. Food was served in a timely manner - also nice to see that other customers were enjoying the same. Thoroughly reccomend.
Great place for nachos, tacos, burritos, margaritas, tequila and all things Mexican. Delicious food at great value. I recommend the Black bean and jalepino nachos and the taco platter for a really tasty sharing meal! Always first port of call for tacos, with an immense selection of hot sauces!
Food was luke warm / cold
Odour from toilets downstairs hits you as you walk in which rather taints the whole experience!
Food was ok but rather bland for a Mexican and mains were a bit stodgy. Inexpensive I suppose but we were disappointed.
The food was amazing and I loved the frozen margaritas but it was quite expensive - would be better in future if there were some drinks deals
Great food at a reasonable price, service could have been better!
amazing food for super good price cant wait to go back
It's a shame because the actual restaurant is really cool; the interior and style and features like the hot sauce wall are nice. But the food is poor. The service is strange. We ordered our starter of nachos and before we could order our main, the waiter just walked off without saying anything - we weren't sure if he had even taken our order. One of the waitress' didn't seem to know where she was taking the food and brought the wrong dishes to our table multiple times.
My partner liked the nachos, but I didn't, they were too mushy and cold and tasted like they had been sat out for some time. The mains did not taste nice. We both had enchilladas, and they just tasted bad. You can make nicer enchilladas from the Old El Paso kit. We had a side of spicy rice to go with it, and that was plain and didn't taste good either. Seriously, save your money and go somewhere else!
While the meal was fantastic and delicious, the margaritas were WAY overpriced as was the food. Great food. The pomegranate margarita was good but my meal consisting of chips/guacamole, margarita and a bean burrito totaled around $30 USD. Too expensive for what it was.
Lovely atmosphere and nice food! Great staff as well
Buzzy venue, super friendly attentive staff, superb Margaritas
