El Camion Soho
We operate a hour and a half turn time on all restaurant tables and please keep in mind that we also serve a slightly reduced menu after 10.30 Monday through Saturday
Drinks prices a bit to high 😩 Apart from that, a nice place to go out and eat.
Lovely food and staff. There was a large table next to us, they were loud and as the space is small it got very noisy. We couldn’t hear our own conversation. Not really the restaurants fault but it’s the design of the space.
The food was tasty and there was a good selection for vegetarians. The staff were friendly and polite. Sadly we were the only people in the restaurant (it was an early lunch) so cant really comment on ambiance and noise levels. Very enjoyable lunch.
Awesome service, wanted to thank the great waiter for the great experience.
Best thing about the place is the location and ambience. Worst thing is the service. The food was too salty. The margaritas weren't that good either.
They were rigid in preparing the food according to our preferences.
Will probably not go again.
It's quality over quantity here. The quality of the ingredients is very high and the food delicious. We shared nachos - not the largest portion in the world, but enough for a starter. I had pork tacos, my husband had goat mole tostados and my daughter had a pork burrito. We enjoyed them, but were not overwhelmed with quantity. Lots of hot sauces to try, though! The tequila in the cocktails was barely noticeable, but they were tasty. The service was a little underwhelming, too. Not impolite, but not overly committed either. Fortunately, we were in an easygoing frame of mind and it was early for dinner, so we didn't have to fight for attention. I am sure the restaurant comes alive a bit later in the evening.
Great experience - staff attentive and food great - very reasonably priced and great relaxed atmosphere
The food (mains) was not too good at all this time round! Very poor service.. felt like only 2 staff were waiting on a nearly full restaurant! The only nice dish was the nachos starter. The churros tasted terrible like as if they had been fried in really old, oil that had been used a lot
Great staff and great food!
Great food and excellent service
Ok, nothing to write home about. Limited menu, fairly samey. More geared towards drinks than food.
As a native Texan, I will verify this is good Mexican food in London.
The food is a very bland version of Mexican - something you'd expect from a Chipotle, but at a higher price. Margaritas were unusually salty but strong so you get bang for your buck. Service was a little slow and not particularly attentive.
Overall - would pick Wahaca over El Camion next time.
El Camion has a relaxed atmosphere. Food is good without being impressive, and the value for money is very good. We had nachos and tacos and we were beyond full. I loved the varied selection of sauces they offer your.
One of my favourite places to eat and drink in London - food always tasty and a killer espresso martini. Good value for money too
Very average expensive food. 3 beers a burrito and another main was £45. Not that impressed
Service was slow on the day. Food not that brilliant and lacks value for money.
Brilliant vibe and a great collection of chilli sauce. Food portions were small though the food but was tasty. Decent value though.
Had been twice before and always very good but they must of changed their menu. Portions now were so small we had to go opposite for a burrito in a chilango. Very expensive for what you get, won’t be going back.
Very comfortable food. The venue is really nice too.
The prices are decent.
Will come back for sure!
Amazing food super fresh and delicious and great atentive and friendly staff a must if you are in the neighbourhood a must even if youre not!!
Used to love coming to this place. Atmosphere is always great and food used to be amazing. Not sure if it was an off day for the chef or if they have changed their carnitas recipe completely. Just did not taste good this time. I was quite disappointed with it. My parter also said his food was not as good as it used to be. Such a shame if the recipes have in fact changed.
The service was great. Our waitress was so lovely. 2 of us were allergic to coriander and they accommodated our every need! We mentioned that we wanted to go and have a drink downstairs in The Pink Chihuahua after dinner, and they made sure that we had a place to sit. Don’t think I’ve experienced this service in London before - really made our night! The food and the cocktails were absolutely delicious. The only downside I have, is that the portions could have been bigger!
A little loud and rowdy when we walked in with our son, but the server made us feel very comfortable and helped immensely with suggestions for our finicky eater.
Food was great, veggie torta was a vegetarian happiness.
Reservation at 8:30 didn’t get seated till 8:45.... food came almost an hour later at 9:20
Crowded also the people next to us where on top of each other to the point they should of got a room but no one said or did anything.
Great atmosphere with bar downstairs, lively vibe. Food is good but portions of mains are not that big but very tasty.
Food was overpriced and to be honest it was really bad. Ordered burritos for the main meal I had the black bean one, little did I know it would literally be black beans and rice - no flavour or sauce or anything!!! Really disappointing for £10. Don’t visit! I would never go back.
Had booked a table for 19:30, but didn't get seated until 20:10. Don't mind waiting for a table for a few minutes, but 40 minutes is too long. Food was delicious and good value. Waiters were very friendly, but did have to ask for the bill several times because they forgot. Had been here before during a week day and did not experience any of these issues then. Might just have been the weekend rush. Would still highly recommend and go back.
Service was amazing. Very helpful staff!
Lovely got to Mexican restaurant, would recommend wholeheartedly
Always enjoy my time here great food and selection of amazing drinks.
Great location. Very decent food. Lovely staff. Perfect Soho venue for our annual pre-Christmas ex-uni social. Highly recommend finishing off the evening downstairs in the Pink Chihuahua too
Great food, really tasty. The second time I have been, and I will definitely go back!
Lovely got to Mexican restaurant, would recommend wholeheartedly
It wasn't even busy and it took 20 minutes for someone to take my order. The staff were just milling about talking to one another, it was obvious I was ready to order. Food came quickly but it was Luke warm, nobody asked me if the food was ok. I asked for the bill and it came very quickly. There was an additional service charge (which I wasn't going to pay) unfortunately I have no idea what I did pay as the waitress snatched my card and used contactless without showing me what was on the screen or giving me a receipt. I wouldn't go back.
Slow service and food was of a very poor standard. Table of six people and not one person enjoyed their meal. Typical central London restaurant; they'll stay busy no matter how poor the service. I thought you couldn't go wrong with Mexican but obviously not. Would not recommend.
I came here for my birthday after the theatre with friends. Staff were exceptionally friendly, the food as delivered very fast and tasted delicious. The atmosphere was great and loved the quirky decor, will definitely be coming back! The churros were orgasmic!
Food is fine, nothing special. Drinks are really good. Staff could be a tad friendlier.
Great venue, great staff, great food and can cocktails...the perfect evening
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, loads of hot sauces (don't miss out on trying one from the wall of sauce). The food arrived quickly but we did have to keep asking for things as the wait staff weren't very attentive. Definitely worth visiting.
