About

"If you're looking for some fresh tasty Spanish food in Bristol you've found the right place. El Puerto has been open for 15 years and takes its pride in being and cooking authentically Spanish. Tapas is a way of life in Spain, which has become more and more popular elsewhere. A tapa was originally, a small side plate or bowl containing a few nuts, olives, a chunk of cheese or ham, which was served as an accompaniment to wine, beer or sherry either as a between meals snack or as an appetiser. Nowadays, with its Moors, Berbers and Euro influence the range has become far more varied, as reflected in this menu and tapas has become an exciting and versatile way to enjoy a meal, especially as a couple or large group. Choose El Puerto for great Spanish food in Bristol. Tapas Bristol Tapas BristolTapas are for sharing amongst friends and it is customary for groups to order a selection of dishes, these being served continuously throughout the meal.

We had a lovely table in the corner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The waitress was super friendly, we had lovely food and a good selection of wine to choose from! Looking forward to our next visit!

The food is good however it doesn't really make up for the terrible service. In addition on the evening we went the coffee machine wasn't working and neither was the card machine so I had to leave the restaurant for cash.

There were 10 in our party and we shared tapas. These were tasty.
Only criticism was that the restaurant was cold. Apparently the heating was working properly.
Perhaps we could have been given a free drink in compensation

Saturday night absolutely crammed, too noisy to hear yourself speak across a table for two, seems they are trying to fit too much in, a table of thirty or more in a small room with low ceilings should be enough but they are fitting small tables in the same room, the noise levels are immense, the service also suffers as waiting staff are busy looking after the large parties, took ages to get a drink, food arrival was staggered and I had to get up to ask where one item was, waitress said she would look into it in a bit as she was busy entering another food order, our other food was going cold while we waited, it eventually arrived 5 mins later, this was 10 mins later than all the rest. Possibly the most expensive wine in Bristol, well over £6 for the smallest measure I've ever been served of mediocre sauvignon blanc, they're not using any industry standard measures. Finally you get a bill with a 10% service charge added, i refused to pay it, i should note that i have used the restaurant on quieter days in the week and it is much better and i will probably do so again, i wouldn't recommend it for couples on a busy night, there are much nicer places to be in Bristol.

Had a lovely meal, great food. We arrived at a time when there was hen party however the noise was on the other side of the restaurant and even when seated they weren't too loud. Very dark quite hard to see the menu but nice romantic setting. Found staff to be a little unorganised and rude on arrival but were fine once serving when seated

Food wasn't bad but we left quite a bit. The wine was nice. It was quite difficult to get served and I had to go to the bar to pay in the end.

Appalling service but the foods quite good, other tapas restaurants nearby offer rear better ambience and food. Note to restaurant, if you are advertising bookings until 10:30pm, then tell your rude front of house lady who said you are closed and didn't believe we'd made a booking for 10:15, we had to show confirmation email to get a seat. The food was good but mid way through the house lights were put on and the staff started putting up metal shutters on the doors. Ruined what little welcome and ambience was on offer. Was also presented with bill before we were half way through a new drink. It became apparent why we were being rushed out. As we were leaving most of the staff were at the bar having drinks and enjoying their Saturday night social. for who's benefit is this restaurant run? Certainly not the paying customers.

Dreadful! Cannot be bothered to expand too much. Walked out on arrival of first 3 dishes. Not even as good as Iceland budget frozen food!
Amazing it even arrived considering how bad the service was.

Didn't even have my reservation despite my confirmed reservation from Opentable. Food was mediocre at best.
