El Torito - Anaheim
Using the freshest ingredients and boldest flavors, our menu offers a range of quintessential Mexican food, along with culinary innovations we know guests will love. We are known best for our tableside preparations, including our made-to-order guacamole and flame-grilled fajitas, which arrive sizzling to the table.
Our standard is great, and we don’t do anything without passion. Over 60 years, we’ve learned a lot about Mexican food, like how not to mess it up.
The service at the buffet tables were very bad I waited at desert table for 20 mins no one came over so l help myself because no one came except other costermers and they all left because no one came to serve us .for the price you charged for your buffet you should of have someone to serve us. Well not come for buffet again.
The service and food was great with exception of the desert which was not great
Just nice to dine in out of the cold weather.
I made reservations noting I'm a large guy and needed a table, not a booth. When we arrived the hostess was surprised and said they only had tables in the bar. I told her that was ok, then she said it would be a 30-minute wait which I thought was poor planning on the restaurant part, so I agreed to a booth. Then we were told there would be a wait until they could clear a table for us, more poor planning. We were seated finally and we got very good service through our meal for our waiter. The food is good here but my Enchiladas always come just barely cooked, the cheese is hardly melted on top of the and the onions are still crisp and not cooked. They make perfect Spanish rice here but it is always just barely warm too. It's a real shame, this could be a great place to eat.
In addition, they had a private party in a backroom and the doors were open to where we were seated. They had their own musicians who were extremely loud which would have ok if they would have turned off the piped-in music, but they didn't, so it was a horrible sound between the two.
We sat outside, waited a long time for waiter and we were right by the door. They were not busy at all either. Finally, someone else came to take our order. Food came fast but wait service was very slow.
My BIGGEST concern/complaint is the El Torito masks they are required to wear, they don’t fit them and are constantly falling down, resulting in them constantly touching their mask fight in the front to lift it back over their nose. Don’t make your staff wear the uniform mask if it doesn’t fit right. I won’t be back anytime soon primarily because of the mask issue. This is a common problem I have noticed at other places of business the provide a one size fits all mask and make their staff wear the “uniform” mask.
The food was good but the service was bad , they seemed too busy and waitress was no where to be found when we needed anything we waited like 20min to see if she would come around to ask for our check we ended up getting up and going to the check in desk to ask for our check and desert for my daughter that was supposed to be brought out right after the food .. not good at all ...
We were seated in a booth and shortly after they seated a big group right in the next booth. And of course one of them coughed a bit so we moved our stuff to the next booth. All was fine until they seated another family right behind us. NO SOCIAL DISTANCING. We spoke to manager and her words booths are ok back to back not even 2 feet apart. We asked her to move them but she insisted to move is. What the hell we were in the middle of our meal and the other family was just seated and she wanted to move us!!! NO REGARD to our safety or anyone else. Needless to say we got up and left. Bad start to fathers day!!
The service was exceptional!! We had a great evening!
Service was slow. The server tried his best but I think they were understaffed. One bartender for the whole restaurant and refills took 15-20 mins to receive. When paying, the server kept the cash change as a tip when we asked for change. I wasn’t trying to tip him 30%. All in all, it was nice going out and catching up with a colleague but it could’ve been better.
We were seated right away and our server was very helpful with anything we needed. As a family we had a great time.
We tried it again because of their 25% discount. We were going they had changed the brunch chips and Salsa but they haven't. Boo.
Birthday of my husband- service was efficient and everyone very polite and friendly. Food was great! Thought they would do something for my husband since they knew it was his birthday but nothing.
This restaurant came highly reviewed online, however our experience was not consistent with the reviews. The service was slow, it appeared that they didn't have enough servers on duty and the food was slow to come out as well. When the food did come out, it was very lack luster. I ordered the taco trio. The shells were chewy and the rice was very dry. My brother ordered the flaming fajitas. They were barely flaming, and didn't have any peppers (for the record, we saw other tables order the same dish and it looked much more impressive). We tried a few different margaritas, all of which were watered down and not made very well. I can't recommend this restaurant.
After a long day at Disneyland, we decided to head over to El Torito for dinner. We hadn’t been to El Torito in years so decided to give it a try. The food was pretty good. We ordered shrimp, chicken and beef fajitas and they came out hot on a sizzling platter. We order tableside-made guacamole. I think the chips could have been much better. Although they came out hot, I think the oil they used to fry the chips was old since it had a somewhat rancid flavor. Otherwise, everything else was pretty good. I think they could do a better job of ensuring that the establishment is clean at all times and the restaurant may be due for a remodeling as well. This would help with the overall ambience score.
We greatly enjoyed the Christmas Brunch! My 91 year old mother in law was with us, they allowed us to pay for a child’s plate for her. I don’t believe my daughter (24), sister in law or myself ate $28.00 of food, but it was delicious! My son (28), husband and sister in law’s boyfriend made a few trips. The $5.00 Cadillac Margarita deal was awesome!! It was a lovely meal!! Great start to our Christmas Day!
This El Torito just completed Cantina renovations a week ago and this is their first brunch with the new set up. IT WAS TERRIBLE! Now you have to order chips and salsa, no more getting them ourselves. Everything was moved around and a lot of things normally on the buffet were missing, like the pepitas for the salad. I had to ask for it and then they were brought out. The bar itself has lost all of it's quaintness and hometown feel. The Bar is the strangest shape ever and the bartender can't even reach us to refill our champagne! There was only one bartender and he wasa WAY TOO BUSY with the server orderes to even come check on us!!! Very very bad, we will not be back.
Service was great. Our server had a great sense of humor and took great care of us. Good food but there was a large Birthday party around us and made it impossible to hear any of the six people at our table.
Always delicious. Never disappoints!
Great place to take a group or party. Very festive, with something on menu for everyone.
Our waiter gave us excellent sevice. Our dinner was excellent. Our strawberry 🍓 margarita was So delicious. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
Service was generally poor. Our waiter seemed to be distracted even though the restaurant was not crowded. We have been to other El Torita's with much better service.
Made reservations and thought I would be seated in the dining area but we were seated in the bar/lounge area. Perhaps it was due to being short staffed. Nonetheless, it was a nice time spent with kids and husband.
It was Christmas Day, buffet only. Great selection, but very expensive and we had no idea what the cost per adult would be. We are not over eaters, just needed a place to eat with family. Our service was great and we do appreciate El Torito being open on Chirstmas Day, I know no everyone wants to be working, but the staff was in great spirits and took great care of us.
Buffet brunch is great
This is a great brunch and Jose and Jesus are awesome servers
We took our son and daughter in law for Sunday brunch. The food was cold and had no flavor . There wasn’t a big selection of anything and the background music was too loud and in addition to that they had Mariachi’s walking around singing at the same time. The only bright spot was our server who was very attentive and never let our champagne glasses get empty!
Our waiter was one of the best! Not only did he make sure our champagne glasses were never empty during brunch, but he had an outstanding singing voice!! 2 thumbs up!!
