El Torito - Marina Del Rey
Using the freshest ingredients and boldest flavors, our menu offers a range of quintessential Mexican food, along with culinary innovations we know guests will love. We are known best for our tableside preparations, including our made-to-order guacamole and flame-grilled fajitas, which arrive sizzling to the table.
Our standard is great, and we don’t do anything without passion. Over 60 years, we’ve learned a lot about Mexican food, like how not to mess it up.
It was very pleasant, fun and service was very good!
Had a great time! Hadn't been here in years a d becoming here for lots of years.....
Good location and good food
Restaurant was busy and had to wait a while to be seated for our reservation. But they got us a nice table for 10 overlooking the water like we asked. Servers were attentive and friendly. Food was delicious and plenty. We ordered a variety and had a lot to take home.
Restrooms should be checked every hour as it was messy.
The ambiance was great. Our waitress was outstanding and most attentive.
We , had a great time, 2-issues.
1) we took a couple of picture and purchased them, was ready to pay for the pictures with credit card and t HD e guy took us it will be a $3.00 service fee, if I pay with a credit card? The pictures were purchase with cash, this is not right to charge me for using a credit card.
2) My Neice got a $63.00 dollars ticket because she back into a parking space. We didn't see any visible sign posted saying you can't back in to a parking spot
We were seated right on time. We had a table by the window. Great view. They took our drink order right away and brought us a basket of chips and 2 bowls of salsa. Fresh crispy chips and mild salsa. I ordered a dark beer and she ordered Kahlua and Cream. Giant heavy glass of beer. She enjoyed the Kahlua. We ordered the Macho Combo to share but somehow they brought 2 whole dinners. When we reminded him that we were going to share, he immediately took the other one away and brought us share plates. The food was well prepared, hot and tasty. Portions were large enough that even sharing, we left half of the tamale.
We were too full for dessert. With alcohol, the bill was only $44 including tax and tip. Just try to get a deal that good in Marina Del Rey anywhere else.
The restaurant itself really needs to be completely renovated (they recently refreshed it), so don't expect much from the atmosphere. It's very loud now, due to the tile flooring, and the restaurant looks old and run down - despite the updates. (Try to get permits opening the front windows for dock side outdoor dining!)
That said, the sunset views are beautiful and the food is actually really good! We go quite often and it is consistently well prepared. The service is great and the drinks are delicious too.
Food could of been warmer. Margarita was not hand made watered down buy a machine.
Great and fast service. Friendly and efficient
The staff makes this place! Great food view as well. A wonderful experience!
We were celebrating a friends birthday party and really enjoyed our food, waiting staff and vikew!!
Great fajitas just wish the mixed drinks were stronger!!
Beautiful views, great food, but very small. Restaurant is too small.
We love the locale by the water watching all the boats go by and the sunset as we enjoy our meal and great drinks.
Family members in town for the first time
Waiter got our order wrong after waiting 25 minutes for food.Very noisy enviornment.
Great local restaurant. Waiter made every aspect of our meals and drinks specific to our desires. Everything we ate was a very good portion - chimichanga burrito even had the guacamole inside.
I had whole beans instead of retried beans. Black beans is my favorite, but this was a satifisfying replacement.
Service was extremely slow. Food came out just warm. Overall, it was not such a good experience. Had been awhile since I was there but won’t be returning.
We went for Easter for an early dinner with a rather large group (14). We had made reservations and were seated in the middle section between booths. In the beginning everything seemed fine however I’m 7 months pregnant and had to sit with enough room for my belly. I kept getting pushed in by people passing by and even got hit in the head by a server carrying a tray full of dirty dishes. Definitely uncomfortable and two of our guests received their meals halfway through the rest of our dinner. We ended up having to request the desserts that were meant to be included with our children’s menu selections and when we asked for them, our waiter rolled his eyes. Definitely felt like he was just wanting us to leave. Likely won’t be back to this location which sucks because the Redondo Beach is always busy.
Our server was excellent and food good. We usually go to the El Toritos in Redondo Beach which has been remodeled. This location right on the marina is nice, but if staying around needs the remodel. We were there on a weekday and it was not busy. Parking validated for two hours.
I usually enjoy this El Torito because it sits right on the water. This weekend, our waitress was really distracted and the entrance to the restaurant smelled like a wet dish cloth. The food and margaritas were great as usual.
Great, authentic Mexican dishes. My husband and I had burritos and enchiladas, which were some of the best we’ve ever had. Our waiter was terrific, too, as was the view of the harbor at sunset. Very good value.
The waitress was too busy to be attentive.I ordered a chicken taco and got a steak taco.Fair service Fair food
Always a pleasant dinner when you're craving Mexican food and a beautiful sunset across the water at the Marina watching all the boats go by. It's really a stress relaxer. Much better than taking medication for it.
We arrived on time for our reservation and waited 30 mins to be seated. To our surprise, the dining area was about 50% full. I mentioned that we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday. All around us we could hear the servers singing to other guests, but no one ever approached our table. It was disappointing.
Exceptionally good food, their special extra hot salsa is great
Terrible service. Made reservation; still had to wait on a waitlist to be seated.
Appetizer came after dinner. It was cold and unappealing. Waitress was not attentive. Wanted second round of drinks, but service was so slow that we finished dinner before we could order them. Waitress also did not honor coupon that we presented her with when we ordered. She had to redo the check.
Really poor experience.
The Sizzling steak enchilada is delicious.
No waiting. Excellent food. Good service. Nice environment.
I would have given 5 stars however the waiter for the evening never came to check on my party of 15. We waited for over 20 to 30 minutes for him to bring the check to the table he never showed up. We had to walk to the front and try to gain assistance in paying for our meal. My table still decided to leave a generous tip however was not pleased with the service from the waiter
Yes I would. But our experience on this night was crowded too crowded.
Had a reservation for 830p. Arrived early. Seated immediately. Short wait. Good food and drink. Great staff. Great experience.
Excellent service and a great view! Their food is not anything to write home about but it's made up by the hospitable staff and excellent service.
Friendly, casual place. Good for the kids. Service was a little scattered and slow, but the food was very good. Nice place to sit and look at the water, but perhaps not if you are in a hurry. We will go back.
It was raining badly when we went. Restaurant was not crowded.
Food was ok.
Good reasonably priced food. Comfortable setting. Good service. Convenient validated parking.
The only saving grace for this restaurant is the location and it’s on the water in marina del rey- it’s a nice view of the boats if you get a table with a view. The service was slow and the waitress had nobody helping her on New Year Eve! Very hard to get her attention for more salsa and a fork. :( Validated parking for 2 hours was helpful but way too long of a wait for only a salad and fajitas!
Excellent food and service. We were on our way to a movie so appreciated the efficiency of the staff. Their secret extra hot salsa rocks.
We were seated by a window with a great view of the water. Our server was super efficient and helpful. The food is very tasty and quite inexpensive. It is not that authentic but it is quite enjoyable nonetheless. 2 hours of parking is free with validation. It was fun after lunch to walk down the walkway along the water.
