El Torito - Woodland Hills
Using the freshest ingredients and boldest flavors, our menu offers a range of quintessential Mexican food, along with culinary innovations we know guests will love. We are known best for our tableside preparations, including our made-to-order guacamole and flame-grilled fajitas, which arrive sizzling to the table.
Our standard is great, and we don’t do anything without passion. Over 60 years, we’ve learned a lot about Mexican food, like how not to mess it up.
Tender grilled 10oz. skirt steak* marinated in chile de árbol adobo, topped with nopalitos salsa, with a cheese enchilada and tomato-jalapeño sauce. Served with rice, frijoles de la olla, fresh guacamole and warm tortillas
Deep-Fried Ice Cream
Vanilla ice cream in a cinnamon-sugar coating with chipotle-chocolate sauce, caramel sauce and cinnamon whipped cream
Server, elder lady, had an attitude with my party and I. With every other table, I saw her smiling and enjoying herself. First thing she said to us was “3 only?” As in 3 people at the table. No hello, no smile and just plain rude. It took 15 min to get our drinks.
MAIN COURSE WAS BROUGHT PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF APPETIZERS -REQUESTED IT BE RETURNED & KEPT WARM - WAS RESERVED LUKE WARM & STALE
ALL DIRTY DISHWARE & GLASSES REMAINED ON TABLE THRUOUT MEAL
WAITSTAFF NEVER CHECKED TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS NEEDED
OTHERWISE, IT WAS EL TORITO
Very warm inside the restaurant.
The food was cold and lackwd flavor. Plus i was a little freaked out that the person serving me food didnt have a mask. I get people are vaccinated but people who handle/cooking food should be enforced to wear a mask.
Had a last-minute Father’s Day dinner here. The restaurant was open so we decided to come to El Torito and as usual the food is consistent you know what you’re getting and the service was great. Our waiter Alberto was sweet, friendly and happy. It always makes your dining experience pleasurable when the wait staff actually enjoys their job and is happy to do it. Very satisfied with our meal and I would say that having Alberto as our waiter made our evening even more enjoyable.
Food, staff and ambiance was beautiful for Father’s Day
My daughter and wife took me there for Father's day. All of us were disappointed about the food, shortage of food on buffet, poor quality meats and stews, unprofessional server serving very slopy plates and dumping all sort of foid on top of each other in a plate. All types of food except rice and beans were not up to quality. Salad area was not full. I can't believe that we paid over $100 for the horrible food. I would have been better of going to Taco Bell.
Very disappointing and hope someone will get back to me.
I have been in executive level of restaurant business for over 35 years.
Long lines were no fun but it was fathers day so to be expected I guess. Always enjoy the food and service on their Sunday Brunch
We did the Father's Day Buffet, crowded, not enough servers and food. We need to wait for them to replenish. They taste all the same; Salty. I enjoyed the Fajita Bar because less wait, but they are all the same, salty. Love the Ice cream. We will consider El Torito but Will never do the buffet.
Website and emails did not inform us that the regular menu would not be available. They only served Sunday Brunch and nothing else. Very long lines to wait for food. We were not told about drink specials until we asked for our check. We sat at the bar but were not told about drink specials when we sat down.
A little more instructions. There was no Omelet Bar. Had to place order with your server. Didn't know that. A bigger and/or better notice as to what each station was serving would also be helpful. Otherwise, we had a great time our server was great and we had a great time for my Father's Day.
The place is dated, the food is good, surprisingly excellent margaritas, service was top notch. Predictable, the interior needs updating, but I was satisfied and I'd return.
Great service and great margaritas!
A woman at nearby table needed Heimlich Maneuver.. no employees around to ask to help her.. her husband was not helpful..
When we needed take home boxes, refills of drinks no one around
Loved the food and service!! Felt like a party! Great prices too.
Always love El Torito! You always get great food, and the Cadillac Margaritas are my favorite. The atmosphere was very festive, with some mariachi singers, and we had a great time with some great friends!
Nice building in Spanish style with bright colors, arches, etc. We had good family time there.
Does not use the lunch menu as it states at the Website.
Great service and good food!
It took them more than 40 minutes to bring dessert. Totally unacceptable.
I am so thankful that they are open. They are taking all the necessary precautions to make sure that we are staying safe, while we enjoy dinner outside. They need a few more outdoor heaters, because it gets really cold.
My server was fantastic, however the food was just ok.
Reservation time was not honored and had to wait for quite some time.
These idiots don’t understand what a reservation is and how it works. I had to leave the place because it was packed and all the customers who had reservations were asked to wait because there were no tables available. People who had a reservation before me had already been waiting for more than 30 min. Managers here are stupid.
They did such a great job on such a busy night! We had a memorable time!
It was a good experience, took about 10 to 15 minutes to get us a table, after I made a reservation, and took over five minutes to get a waiter, food was at a decent time, food was good, but my steak was hard and dried, I order a mojito and it was alright, usually it’s amusing, this time not really. I understand it was Valentine’s Day on a Sunday so a little more people than usual, but I also believe they could done a little better
It was Valentine's Day so it was packed at 3PM and they appeared to be understaffed, only saw a busboy once in the hour + we were there. My wife received her soup with no spoon, by the time a spoon arrived the soup was uneatable, she was quite upset. Otherwise it was El Torito, the food was good and the service not so much.
Since we didn't make any plans in advance for the few places she likes we picked El Torito because they had reservations available and they are local.
The best “buffet” in town. I love the stations that serve you, very clean, very well organized. I will be going back for sure. Everything was delicious. I LOVED the pancakes and the birria and the hand made tortillas - so good! The omelet made to order was amazing as well.
I not like see dogs in restaurant because is food
Hair in food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i loved the outdoor dining and the weather was nice
Incredibly dirty in general but especially during a pandemic. Unacceptable.
The food and service definitely declined after the long shut down unfortunately :(
El torito was freaking cool! So! Open table is still having it a possibility to make reservations to restaurants that stopped serving dine in due to covid. I’m not from the area and since I use open table often, I got a pop up from them and decided to go out to eat. I saw they were taking reservations and was ecstatic since most restaurants closed! Good? No. We get there and apparently instead of shutting the buttons down, open table has left it up to the restaurants to tell clients they’re only doing take out or delivery or whatever. So it sucked, we really wanted to dine in, but el torito made our experience great by helping us out and rushing our order. Despite the plastic cutlery (could not cut the carne asada), it was an okay experience.
Please update your open table reservations so people don’t drive for an hour for nothing. Thank you
During COVID, this place is still amazing. Hostess was amazing when adding another person to our table. Friendly staff even on a Friday evening and the DJ was a bonus to our surprise.
Veteran's Day special...ordered 3-entre special free for military...Ernesto is a good server..left a good tip since my food was free...
Great set up. Way too cold to be outside. No heaters by the tables made it very uncomfortable to eat. Probably would not go back when it's cold outside, unless there are heaters. Would not recommend during the cold weather.
I set reservations but walk ups were set before me. When I brought this up to management, I was finally say. I normally love this place but today was not good at all!
Ryan was our server and he seemed to not know what he was doing! I ordered virgin pina coladas but he brought alcoholic pins coladas. Our experience was disappointing to say the least!
