Executive Chef Scott Anderson chose the name "elements" for the restaurant because he is passionate about sourcing fresh, local, organic ingredients and sustainably raised meats and seafood. He wants the very elements of your meal to play a major role in the taste of it. Then he and his team work to reveal the complementary flavor dimensions inherent in the elements by skillfully combining them—often in edgy new ways. Restaurant menus change constantly here, making this the dinner restaurant that is excitingly different every time you return.

If you're a foodie, you want to know where—and how--your food grew. It's fascinating, it's a good health practice and it provides extra pleasure from everyday experiences, like a meal with friends. elements is the American restaurant serving local steak and seafood, but with global influences in seasoning and cooking methods. A true culinary adventure!

Not what I expected , for all the great reviews I was VERY DISAPPOINTED! Read my review on trip advisor traveler260. I have dined at hundreds of restaurants and most all Michelin 3 star rated in the area, would not take the drive to dine again

The food was very good and of high quality but there wasn’t a dish we found spectacular.
The restaurant ambiance, level of noise and service also did not meet our expectation. Some examples include not getting the table I requested even though it was available, changing waiters, being unable to get the check for 20 min because no one was watching and our waiter has left, and mixing my husband’s name up with someone else on their birthday card. If the prices suited the ‘more casual’ experience, I would rate it higher.

This is a special place, in all aspects. Everything that surrounds your main course is delicious. The bread is to die for. Our main, courses were very good, but not as extraordinary as everything else. Service is most gracious, helpful, professional. This is Princeton’s best.

Went for special NY's eve tasting menu. STUNNING. SPECTACULAR. PHENOMENAL. In every way. Just finished celebrating a milestone birthday at three of NYC's finest restaurants, and as great as they all were, elements was even better. Really, it was MIND-BLOWING. Thank you, thank you!!

I was so disappointed! I was planning on booking a party here after I had an amazing experience in November. 75% of the dishes were lukewarm and had been sitting, we had a 30 minute lag between courses at one point, we were in a cold room off the dining room (the manager tried to stuff dinner napkins in the window as it was pouring cold air the whole dinner) and the light (fluorescent/not restaurant lighting) flickered above is for 3+ hours—not to mention the dining chair was breaking and had to be replaced. We asked to leave before dinner started but the policy is that all canceled reservations are charged in full. We had a really disappointing dinner for NYE at 400 dollars, and after poor execution of the food compared to my last visit I was surprised to see 20% gratuity was still added. I would appreciate a manager making this right.

Went to this gourmet restaurant for New Years Eve and had a wonderful dining experience. The 5 course menu (with additional amuse bouche surprises) was wonderful in the variety and top quality of the courses. Diners had choices from appy to dessert with variety spanning tuna to ribeye there was a choice for everyone.
While the dining area is small the tables are spaced very far apart so conversations can be kept away from your neighbor.
The only very very minor complaint was the multitude of servers - from cooks by the stove to jacketed server staff. One never knew who to call for a question or get attention.
Definitely one of the top restaurants in central NJ

Elements continues to lead the culinary world of Princeton with imaginative menu and flawless execution. There has been a turnover in front of the house with new waitstaff and sommelier, making you yearn for the old times. In particular, the knowledge and talkativeness of the departed sommelier Marin is missed. The chef needs to streamline service to attain greater laurels and coveted awards. Will be back soon to assess progress and to enjoy the creative cooking and special events. Highly recommended for great food and atmosphere.

Just go. It’s awesome. It’s really great that a restaurant like this is in Princeton. Usually you have to go to Philly or NYC to experience something similar.

It’s high end but down to earth. No snooty waiters. Everyone who came to our table was friendly. My wife was freaked out by the smoked quail egg but the chef who brought it was very cool about it and told her to just pop the egg in her mouth. She thought it was great. The rib eye might have been the best I ever had.

OUTSTANDING in every way. We feel so fortunate to have elements in Princeton. It is as good as any restaurant we have eaten in NYC and the value is significantly better. The room is relaxing and you can hear your guests. It just doesn't get any better. Bravo and thank you to Scott and his team!

This small, elegant, and beautifully quiet restaurant is exceptional. The cooking is imaginative and flavorful, and the produce remarkably good (best pheasant ever). The staff is attentive, courteous, and graceful, although one or two servers still seem to be learning their craft. But this is incontestably the most impressive restaurant in Princeton and indeed in the entire New Jersey area. The menus are created with an emphasis on quality rather than broad choice. The wine list is first-rate, and to my pleasure this is the only restaurant locally to carry the exceptional Sancerre of Gérard Boulay. Prices tend to be high, but they are wholly appropriate for the superb cuisine, atmosphere, and service. The total absence of noise, music, and general bustle allows diners to savor everything that is put before them, and to enjoy a leisurely conversation.

This is an amazing restaurant. I can't put into words how delicious the food was and how great the atmosphere is. I had the Chef's Tasting set, with standard wine pairing. It's one of the most unique dining experiences I've ever had. Second only to my kaiseki experience in Kyoto, Japan.

This is also a very very high-end experience as well. I walked into this knowing I would be paying much more than usual. It was close to the same price of a kaiseki dinner that I have eaten in Japan. Be prepared, and don't be surprised with the bill.

A culinary experience like no other. It went beyond the food tasting wonderful or the wine pairing being superb. It opened my eyes to the way food can be transformed into the ethereal. Both myself and my girlfriend were transfixed by this wondrous experience. Everyone deserves to treat themselves to an experience like this at least once. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth every penny and far more? Absolutely!

The restaurant was amazing. They limit the number of tables so it was an intimate setting and the design is great. The chefs tasting was excellent, variety of foods, textures, and flavors, and the presentation was like nothing we’ve ever seen. I highly recommend Elements for any special occasion.

The food and service were excellent and we especially enjoyed the artistic presentation of several of the courses. The smoked quail eggs served in an actual nest was delightful. While each course was delicious, on balance, the meal was heavy. We would have enjoyed more of a fresh vegetable emphasis. Also, the automatic addition of a 20% gratuity for a table of 2 was insulting.

5 course menu was creative and excellent. Japanese Aji sashimi was very interesting and the sirloin with maple syrup was excellent. Service sub par, forgot to take our orders and just put menus on the table without any explanation. Sommelier was excellent, enthusiastic and knew his stuff. The atmosphere is not very exciting, felt like having dinner in a conference room (we were seated in the back room) with old furniture and basically no decorations. I was surprised to see that 20% tip was added to the check for a party of 2. I assume that the restaurant is not very confident about the quality of the service.

Every course had its own WOW factor and the staff was outstanding. The wine steward could have been more generous, though. Two sips of wine for each serving was light-handed in our opinion....but the selection was excellent...maybe that's why we wanted more :)
