Excellent food and service. Authentic Mexican food in a beautiful place with a lot of attention to detail. The Margaritas were fantastic. We had a great time.
The service was good but the food was not good at all. We had to send back most of the plates and that is the first time it happens to us.
Delicious gourmet Mexican food (Chiles en nogada’ exceptional!!), super friendly service, noisy DJ music unnecessary in my view...
Excellent food and excellent service from start to finish. Margaritas were fantastic! We had a wonderful evening.
Great restaurant. Unique flavours. The service was outstanding. Delicious cocktails, especially passion fruit Margarita. Already planning my second visit.
Service was great, concept of a weekend brunch with mini unlimited margaritias was also very good - they were very nice!
The food was good, we enjoyed every dish BUT pricey for what it actually consists of. The Egg dishes for main were only okay- i could easily whip up at home and the mound of tortillas under the eggs just made the dish dry. They need to be rethought with the presentation changed. Resturant istelf is very nice, if lacking a little atmosphere but there were not many people dining. Music could be a little louder and more upbeat.
For stylish and exciting Mexican food and ambiance Ella Canta brings high end Mexican cuisine to the London food scene. Feast on guacamole and duck in mole sauce. Finish with coconut flan. And do check out the cocktails which are fun for the tastebuds and the eyes. Amazing.
Delicious food ruined by appalling service. Until the arrival of the very efficient and charming Anna Maria there was no service at all! I sat in the bar for ten minutes awaiting my sister and brother in law and, although, only one of the three people in the bar, experienced no acknowledgement of my presence. Having given up on the bar we moved to the passageway. At the table we received two wrong drinks orders and another table’s food. The efficient and charming Anna Maria took over and completely changed our experience. Also gave us a cake and various other treats as it was my sister’s birthday dinner. I went a year ago and loved it but prob won’t go back despite the fantastic food. Could not recommend. Such a pity.
My husband and I had an amazing brunch at Ella Canta.
The bottomless margaritas are superb and the food was delicious.
We had tostada de pulpo and shrimp ceviche as starters, the dishes were fresh and tasty, presented in a really creative way.
For mains we had lamb which was lovely and chicken a la barbacoa which was divine.
For dessert we had churros and pan Dulce, the desserts are big portions, probably enough to share with the whole family.
The staff is friendly and attentive.
I am sure we are going back one day soon, I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.
We decided on the tasting menu on the occasion of the Mexican Independence Day. This was a big mistake. The entire menu, except of the ceviche was very boring without any taste explosion. The dessert contained only Ice Creme in various flavors. For this we could have gone to an Italien Gelateria! The interior is very sophisticated although there was no need for a DJ playing music as we were in a club. We were with friends and wanted to talk. Sorry the visit was rather disappointing.
very nice restaurant. Authentic and smart cuisine. I loved the variety of Mexican dishes and it definitely took me back home through the taste
Really nice vibe in there, service was excellent and there are 4 unique margaritas to try which was a highlight.
Food is fresh and some great chilli sauces to try (blackened habanero for the win)
Great service, likely the hospitality.
Our host explained the food and the tradition behind the dish. Overall we had a good time with great food. Thank Ella Canta!
Incredible food, cocktails and amazing friendly service. Great experience.
Great Mexican food and great cocktails. You should go!
I thought dinner at Ella Canta would nicely complement our visit to the Frida Kahlo exhibition at the V&A and it was absolutely the right choice! It is wonderful to see high-end Mexican food showcased here. I am Mexican and my friends kept asking if the food was authentic. The ingredients are of the highest quality and the dishes are all based on traditional cuisine but all with an interesting twist. I loved the huarache to start and the black mole was a delicious main course albeit a bit too salty for my taste. The pastel de tres leches was truly amazing. Not keen on the café de olla with the ice foam on top as it made the coffee cold too. We all loved the guacamole with the grasshoppers. In general we had a delightful evening and all in our party of six very much enjoyed their food. The only disappointment was that our waiter, who had been brilliant, presented a tray with mezcales and tequilas at the end of the meal. He went to ask who wanted what and proceeded to serve. We all genuinely thought the drinks were on the house but do not be fooled by the over enthusiastic hospitality, these Mexican digestifs will certainly be added to your bill.
Absolutely stunning food and fabulous service! Would go again and again!
Amazing restaurant! Best Mexican cuisine in London and really friendly staff
My wife and I enjoyed a splendid Sunday Brunch at Ella Canta.
We went with the fixed price menu including unlimited margaritas. To begin with, the service was impeccable (from arrival to end)....just what you'd like for a casual Sunday: friendly, informative and engaging, yet they gave you space/time to savour and enjoy the food and drink. With the fixed price you get a choice of a starter, main and dessert. The food was exquisite with petite, yet flavourful starters and very well sized mains. We had the octopus tostada and shrimp aguachile, respectively, as starters. The former was very flavourful and latter nicely tangy with citrus. For mains, I had the chiliquiles (verde) and my wife the torte bread with slow cooked pork with a side order of the melted cheese with chorizo. Both mains were very well prepared and lovely. the side was perfect when it arrived, one suggestion is including a to keep the queso warm while at the table as ours went solid quite quickly. We finished off with churros (chocolate/caramel sauce) and vanilla flan (both excellent). The timing between courses was perfect and food came out just right temperature wise. Presentation was very nice as well.
The 4 varieties of margarita were interesting (grapefruit, lavender, hibiscus and pistachio) as well....I also had a traditional with salt. Once through the varieties, you can pick your favourite and keep on going...mine was the pistachio.
The venue is nice if a bit "cold" feeling. very high ceilings, open spacing and medium wood make for a bit disconnected feeling. Maybe a bit more colour to warm the room up? A minor point to be sure.
Only one small knock because of price....as £100+ for brunch seems a bit high but I suspect you are paying for location and proximity.
All in all, we really enjoyed it although the price point makes it more of a special occasion place.
Food was excellent and a definite step up from the typical Mexican cuisine we're used to in the UK. However, that shouldn't mean that the restaurant lacks the vibrancy, excitement and colour of Mexico and sadly Ella Canta seemed like a typical 'hotel' restaurant with little personality, even though the excellent waiting staff tried to compensate for that. In fact, apart from the food, the restaurant is almost indistinguishable from Theo Randall's resturant in the same hotel.
Great food and service . Big shout out to Vlad who was amazing
It’s hard to find authentic Mexican cuisine in London. This was some of the best we’ve had (and we are searching constantly). The carnitas “drowned sandwich” was very good; the octopus appetizer and black mole tamal excellent; and the tomatillo and red salsas excellent. A little pricey, but the refined setting (nicely spaced tables, and a relaxing room) matches the price. Service was convivial and helpful.
Really outstanding and imaginative food. Great raw and fish items. Music very loud so more suited to group dining that romantic meals a deux.
Amazing food and the services is phenomenal. Very well located.
Amazing Mexican cuisine! Unfortunately the pre theatre menu wasn’t available at 6.30pm seating. Definitely going back
The best Mexican food I’ve ever had outside of Mexico. The service was fantastic, the staff made our anniversary so special. We want to go back and try the brunch ASAP!!!
Very nice food but a little soulless in the atmosphere department. Unlimited margaritas at brunch were very controlled and small - we got five different types each - but they were tasty and did not skimp on the alcohol. Food was really good. A shame it is in this big faceless Park Lane hotel.
Went for wife’s birthday. The service was excellent. Atmosphere was a little quiet for a Saturday night and the was good but excellent.
Excellent food and drinks. Service very attentive with lots of explanations for each food. I wished I did not have to leave so early (booked pre-theatre session).
Great food, great drinks selection and beautiful decor.
Great dinner. Excellent Mexican food and great Service.
Too much coriander!!!
Service was friendly and accurate (but many tables were empty, there was not so much to do...)
First visit & first time trying authentic Mexican food. Waiter was helpful at explaining dishes. Flavours were good & care was taken with presentation. However, if you are looking for special treat & romantic evening try somewhere else.
Great experience. Staff were amazing: very helpful, polite and accommodating. The food was fab too, and good value for money. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.
Superb contemporary Mexican food - authentic spicing with a serious kick. Beautifully presented as well.
Modern Mexican food that is both accessible (not too spicy) and exciting (not your average taco). The menu is creative using tradition Mexican flavours and does not disappoint.
Absolutely loved this restaurant. You can see & feel the attention to detail and passion that went into everything, from the design of the menu, the cocktails, the food, the music, the outfit of the staff, the tableware.... absolutely amazing and the super high quality service is what rounded up the experience and made it a really lovely evening. Can only highly recommend the restaurant.
A number of stellar dishes- especially the ceviche and other seafood dishes. Service was at a fixed pace which would have been fine had we not had an 8pm at RAH which was communicated . Will definitely be back to give the menu and food the time it deserves
I cannot understand why this restaurant is not booked to the hilt on a Friday night. From the warm reception by the Frido Khalo hair adorned hostesses to the smiley friendly service staff this place is just amazing. Beautiful decor modern with glints of traditional Mexican embellishment pure class. Cocktails interesting and delicious recommend the margarita (orange marmalade) so refreshing.
Food - well let’s say a notch above Coya whim I love abs comparible to Lima. Delicious, interesting and beautifully presented. Our lovely Italian waiter was knowledgeable and gave some great recommendations. I’m sorry I didn’t catch his name. Thoroughly enjoyable evening start to finish. Thank you
