Hostess claimed she couldn’t find our reservation and told me I would have to wait in line. I got the manager and finally the reservation was magically found. Then multiple late reservations walked in along with some at 5:30, all which was seated before us even though we had waited over 30 mins for our 5:30 reservation.
Great food, busy pre-game for the Caps game. Really enjoyed our meal!
The place was packed and harried when we got there for our 7 PM reservation - was told to wait 10 minutes which didn’t work with our tight pre-NBA game schedule - but they then accommodated us at a bar table. Service was very good after that and prompt. Food was excellent.
Came for brunch, specially because of the bottomless mimosa/Bloody Mary deal as well as the brunch options. Once we were seated we were told they weren’t doing bottomless because of the “influx” of patrons and then the reason changed to not doing bottomless because they didn’t get their champagne shipment. On top of this, they only were serving 2 options off their brunch menu (burger and omelet) instead of the entire menu.
I wish we would have been told ahead of time that it would not be a typical, as advertised brunch service.
It was so good we came back again the next night.
This was a great, casual dinner place for our out-of-town group of 7 - 4 adults and 3 kids. We ordered the fried mozzarella and the meatballs as appetizers, which were delicious! The pizzas are “personal-sized” and 10” in diameter, but they could be shared easily. 3 of us ordered the spaghetti, and we all thoroughly enjoyed... Would definitely return!
Amazing! I might have to say one of the best places to eat in all of DC!
Always friendly with good food!
Overall the experience was very good with the exception of our waiter getting my order wrong.
Great place to go before a game! Food is great and service is efficient!
A gem of a find! Pizza and service was outstanding. Will definitely be back.
Allessandr was fantastic. Food was great. Two of us split a pizza where they allowed us to literally split it in half—I’ve become a capers guy. The third person said the spaghetti and meatballs was excellent. Perfect service, low price makes this a neighborhood gem!
Very good pizza and service. Nice beer and drink menu. It was fun loud, but not too loud to have a nice conversation. Happy place and I will return.
We haven't been to Ella's in a long time and stopped by on our way to the movies the other night. The calamari was great and the pizza excellent. Great crust. Loved the Italian sausage pizza better than the meatball pizza. Meatballs were too garlicky. Nice wine assortment. Nice dinner. We will be back.
Ella's always has great service and the best pizza in the area.
The pizzas and pastas were delicious. Friendly staff, attentive service. A really cute place.
Service was great, pizza was decent, not too expensive. Good for a casual night out.
Best pizza in town.
Food was excellent and prices were very reasonable. Quiet too! We ordered the mixed green salad, Margarita pizza 🍕! Others in our party also had chix sandwich and spaghetti with meatballs. All good! Can’t wait to come back when I visit DC again.
I love the salads at Ella’s. This is a great place, relatively obscure among the Penn Quarter name brand restaurants. I will return.
Great experience! Great service! Excellent food! Highly recommended!!
Ella’s is a great little place for pizza. Our server was very friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. The food was very good and arrived timely.
The food was ok. It was overpriced for pizza and pasta. Service was alright.
Great food! Great service! Glad we had a reservation, it got very busy.
Lilly was fantastic. One had the penne pasta—nothing left. One had the steak sandwich—same. I had the Mediterranean salad with Branzino—excellent.
Love the new decor and the great and welcoming staff!
Great service, perfect location, amazing food, and a very cool vibe made for a fabulous pre-concert dinner. The pizza is true Italian wood-fired style. The calamari appetizer was awesome. If you’re going to an event at Capital One Arena, dine at Ella’s beforehand.
Great restaurant to bring young kids to. The bourbon smash was so delicious and our pizza and chopped salad were great! Our kids loved their spaghetti and it was nice they offer carrots and ranch as a starter for the kids. We’ll be back the next time we go to dc!
Ella's is a true gem. Food is always great and the good service is a breath of fresh air since so many other restaurant staff are shallow and only worried about the tip! Ella's servers aboth the old ones and newer hires are all so pleasant.
Great staff great food...thanks for a great lunch with the team
This is my favorite weekly dining spot. The service is always impeccable, and I always leave more than pleased.
The Margherita and Bosco pizzas were awesome. Alex, our waitress, did an outstanding job. Highly recommended.
Pizzas were good but ordered wings and they were not crispy as advertised but a bit undercooked. Service was acceptable but had trouble getting her attention when we needed things, including the bill
The oven pizza and ceasar salad was delicious. The service was outstanding. The staff, especially the gentleman host, went above and beyond helping us with some personal issues that arouse during our dinner. Thank you for everything.
Food was delicious but the service was horrible. It’s always been very busy when I’ve eaten here, but in prior times the service hadn’t been impacted. It was almost like our waitress forgot about us.
Very attentive service. Mussels in tomato sauce was excellent. Wood fired pizza was fantastic. The crust was thin and flaky! Would love to go back next time in DC.
Perfect quick and fun dinner before a show at the Capital One Center! We were seated immediately upon arriving at our reservation time, which made us very happy! Food was quick and good. This was our second pre-show dinner at Ella's and we will probably make it a habit. Definitely recommend.
I've eaten at Ella's Pizza several times and have never been disappointed. I'm a fan of wood-fired pizza and Ella's is up there in my list of favorites. I was recently there with a group of six and we had a great time - fantastic service (Jess), food that everyone enjoyed, and a good beer selection. I'll certainly be back.
One of my favorite pizza place,We will be back.
Dining with family prior to a concert at the Capital One arena. A child in our group was too chilly inside so we requested an outside table and our request was honored right away. The service was prompt, the food was delicious, and it was all reasonably priced. Ella’s is consistently good and their menu is varied enough to satisfy a wide range of diet preferences. Nice, comfortable place!
Food was great. Chicken tenders were the best we have ever had!
