Delicious food. Very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyable and humorous interaction with Ely people.
Excellent wine ,food and service all made for a very enjoyable evening
While the service was good, the food was only ok. The sirloin was very fatty and quite tough. Also, the baggot street location is not nearly as nice as the CHQ BUILDING.
Had Christmas catch up with friends and love every minute. Food and cocktails were delicious, lighting and restaurant were lovely... very cosy. Defo going back.
Dear Guest, What a lovely review! We're glad to know you had such enjoyable time while dining with us. Look forward to welcoming you back. The ELY team.
Excellent service and the wine was fantastic. Highly recommended Ely to anyone.
Dear GerardF, Thank you for taking the time to leave this wonderful review. Delighted to know how much you enjoyed your recent experience with us. Look forward to welcoming you back. The ELY Team
Tasty evening , would of liked to be in the centre of the restaurant opposed to the toilet door...
Fab spot. Great service from our Kiwi waitress! Thank you
Nice like always, service was perfect and food nice
Great time - staff were brilliant- did not rush us out - safe clean and friendly. Super food and great wine list
The starters were too cold as they came straight from the fridge. The bread was stale. The steak was only warm and came on a cold plate. The portion size felt small.
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and delicious food.
Very good recommendation on wine. The food was delicious!
All very average, not to complain about but equally nothing to shout about!
Lovely evening, very safe during Covid and food and service were superb
Wonderful first night of restaurants reopening. Highly recommended.
Hi, service was great, very friendly and welcoming. Was not going to make any deal of this but as you asked for feedback. Our bill for two people on Friday night was €125, presented our voucher which was for €150, was told you could not give card or credit note for balance for next visit, asked if we could have a cheeseboard or whatever to clear the surplus. Told not possible as table was booked for next customers, (we were in for 6.30pm). Offered a takeaway bottle of wine, only option. Restaurants and service industry have had a tough time, so we didn’t say anything but on reflection, given that the wine is sale in your shop for €20, and that we had no choice but to take it or gift you the balance of €25. feel a bit short changed. Left a €20 tip as the girl who served us was lovely but still leaves a sour taste. You have had weeks to prepare for reopening, how come you cannot give a note for the balance of any surplus on a voucher. We like your place in Maynooth and have eaten there a good bit. Your sector is suffering but why do you do this when people want to support your industry. Have listened to Adrian Cummins for past while, does he defend this. We like wine but prefer to have a choice what we buy rather than having to take something we have no choice in. You had our grifters money when the voucher was purchased in October when they were supporting your sector.
A lovely cosy restaurant in Dublin City. Food and drink very tasty and staff couldn’t do enough for you. Thank you I will definitely be returning
Always an excellent lunch, best salad and best soup n sandwich combo around...feels like treat but great value
Service was great - right level of attention and very friendly staff! However, the food was lacking seasoning and everything felt over-indulgent - far too much butter on the side of baby carrots! My cod dish was massively lacking salt and was very oily in general, I added salt and the only thing that cut through the oil was the dressing on the side salad.
Food bland, underseasoned. Cauliflower dish luke warm - soup beyond bland. Friendly waiters and the cocktails and wine were delicious. Unfortunetly food was a let down.
Excellent choice after a show in the gaiety. It’s very close.
We had a reasly lovely evening. It was a 60th, we really enjoyed our pre-dinner drink. I loved tbe ambience when at our table. Our waitress was very helpful when selecting from menu - during dinner attentive but not intrusive. Foid was delicious. We really enjoyed our evening and highly recommend - well worth a visit
Wonderful food, really good service. Very well priced bottle of Picpoul. We all had fish. Cod from the menu and halibut special. Loved the selection of IRISH cheeses as well. Looking forward to going back soon.
Fantastic as always
Arrived at Ely about 8.15 on Saturday to a warm and friendly welcome. Great service, superb food and wine all combined to make for a very enjoyable evening. Lovely casual but energetic buzz all evening in Ely and wonderful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely return soon.
We had a great evening. Food was perfectly nice and exactly what we were after(steak and duck mains)The wine was spot(Malbec) and the waitress Rebecca couldn’t have been better, knowledgeable, funny and just the right amount of attention.
Very enjoyable experience.. our waitress was very friendly & the food was excellent. We were under no pressure to leave our table at any point .. am looking forward to going back
Food is so good, lovely staff and excellent service. Best fish & chips in D2 👍
The service was fantastic and the food was delicious, I would definitely recommend it. Early bird is great value too
Never disappoints! Consistently good food..superb staff and one of the best wine lists in Dublin. Always a pleasure to spend an evening at Ely.
I regularly visit Ely Wine Bar for lunch and it is one of my favourite venues for excellent food, service and ambience.
Our group of 4 had a lovely meal in Ely's last Saturday. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was very good. Only my starter of cured salmon was disappointing. It was just a few small pieces of salmon and a piece of very sweet brown bread. The other starters were fine.
Had a lovely evening at Ely. I hadn't eaten there in years as I like to try new restaurants and it's hard to keep up with all the new openings. However, oldies are goodies and I will be back soon. Great location, atmosphere, food and service. Best of all, the fabulous wine list!!
We were dissapointed in the food which we felt was overpriced and not of good quality. My wife paid €32 for a steak and chips. THe steak was tough and somewhat overcooked and the chips soggy.
THere was a good selection of wines available but all very pricey.
Service v slow and impossible to get anyones attention to order after initial order taken. Usually a lot better, will give it another try one day.
Great atmosphere service and food. . I would highly recommend Ely Wine bar in Ely place
It would help more information in the web site: only menu is served (but I saw some dishes not in the menu around...), it takes 2 hours for a three courses lunch. We had a very nice guy from mexico attending us and was the only one worried about the delay between course and course (other staff could really improve). I was expecting a minestrone soup but I ate one of the best pisto (typical spanish dish) of my life, congratulations. The cod was outstanding as well. The risotto not at the same level, sorry. We could not try the desserts because of the time.
We made our booking for 1.30 and received our starters abt an hr later and had to ask for our mains at 3.30. Appreciate it was a rugby day, we were attending the match too but we were very rushed eating our dinner. Food lovely and staff very pleasant and apologetic and gave us Irish coffees leaving. We also liked the venue.
Great night! Enjoyed the food, drinks and ambiance. The only thing that let it down was the slow service. However all the staff were very friendly.
Great time. And lovely food but options for vegetarians would be welcome.
