Its inspiration comes from Emilia-Romagna, the culinary heartland of Italy and it aims to pay homage to that region and its food culture but also reflect – as we hope all our restaurants do – what a good modern restaurant should be with fantastic British produce, a brilliant and broad wine list and engaging waiters.
Upstairs is a 25 cover restaurant which can be booked for lunch and dinner whilst downstairs our walk-ins wine bar offers a shorter menu of as-it-comes dishes with over 20 wines by the glass.
A very special evening, which even though quite expensive, you could get away with spending less. Everything we ate was outstanding, and service had a generosity of spirit which was quite charming. Free sparkling or still water, and some extra petit fours, even though we were really too full to eat them.
First visit. We will go again.Wine excellent
Very promising given the background of the team behind it.
The food is a bit bland because it is starting I believe. I think it will improve overtime.
I am a huge fan of Clipstone and Emilia is just as good - seasonal Italian cooking at very reasonable prices; small plates so great for sharing. Great date spot with a number of fun bars nearby - we'll come again!
Greeted by friendly staff and taken to our table. Service was efficient and discrete. The food was excellent, tasty amuse buche, fresh bread and more if wished! Loved the courgette fritti and the ravioli was perfect. Ended with coffee and delicious petit fours.
Superb food and excellent service
Great restaurant. Food was first class. We tried several dishes and all were great. No exception. Service was first class. Overall, a great new addition to the London offer.
Great date night! Loved the food!
our waiter was exceptional!
Overall very good
The restaurant was unfortunately quiet so lacked some atmosphere but hopefully it will get busier with time
The staff were very friendly and attentive but lacked some menu knowledge
A must visit restaurant. Brilliant service very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Wine list while not the largest made up for it with a very interesting selection of fabulous wines from many regions. The amuse-bouche and bread selection was delicious. We had a selection of pasta entree and mains and were certainly not disappointed. Couldn’t fault this restaurant at all. Go while you still can get a booking!!
A class restaurant, carefully understated, with fine food, immaculate service and a lovely ambiance.
My second visit to Emilia proved my enthusiasm is well merited. The room is unostentatiously calm..perfect ambiance in which to relish the superb food--inventive and beautifully prepared. The Staff are all so welcoming which adds to Emilia's considerable pleasures. When the weather settles down, I'd be curious to try one of the outdoor tables but wherever I decide to be seated, a third return visit can't come soon enough.
First time at this restaurant in its new incarnation at Bonhams. Short menu which is a good thing. Five of us had a truly excellent lunch with hightlights being the brot with pasta, rabbit tagliatelle and the pigs trotter on lentils. Wine choice was excellent from a short list. Staff helpfully attentive but not fussy and the bill was about right. The coking is equate and wether they wish it or not a star is bound o follow. No time for puds on this occasion but judging by the adjacent table they looked sumptuous. Great venuee and experience.
A truly quality addition to the (amazing) London restaurant scene. As I'm a huge fan of Quality Chop House, I booked Emilia knowing its fine pedigree--and my high hopes were exceeded. Sensibly short lunch menu, superb food (including exceptional bread baked in house) lovely staff and bright room which lifts the spirits immediately after climbing the stairs. I'm going to book again next week--no higher compliment can be paid.
We had a great lunch at Emilia, the food was terrific, and it’s a lovely bright and elegant space.
A perfect experience. A short menu means that everything is perfectly done. Polished, unobtrusive but friendly service. And a wonderful wine list with bottles from the auction house, curated by a passionate and knowledgable young sommelier.
For a quiet meal, where you can hear yourself speak, this is a very special place
Food is as amazing as the service. Menu choices are great and we highly recommend this to anyone looking for new places to dine.
Such a wonderful menu and the space is just stunning. Light and open feel but still very intimate. I think my new go to place!
Interesting space. Slightly hidden (good) slightly awkward feel as attached to auction house which has the feel of an office building. BUT we went on Saturday evening and it did have a quiet (whilst being full) feel.
The service was attentive and quite excellent for London standards. Hope they stay the same.
The food was excellent, very tasty italian, enjoyed all courses we tried.
The wine list is definitely on the pricey side with only two whites per glass (13 & 17 pounds)
Overall great meal, albeit slightly on the pricey side with wine.
Would definitely go back for a special evening
A hidden gem! We love the Quality Chop House and were keen to try out the group's latest offering. It didn't disappoint. Stand out dishes included the incredible focaccia and my clam and asparagus gnocchi. Sadly we only had an hour because we were shooting off to see the play Emilia (love a themed evening - ha!), the staff were very accommodating and our two courses plus additional extras didn't seem rushed in that time. We'l definitely be back for a more leisurely meal soon.
Excellent in all aspects. Antipasti superb particularly the zucchini. The pasta is the best I have eaten outside Italy. All in all a must
Brilliant cooking; well chosen dishes; everything skilled. Pleasant small space. Nice wine list.
This new restaurant is modern, quiet and cosy.
Professional staff, delicious food, appreciable quantity of wine by the glass and nice wine list by the bottle (auction list).
Not the warmest of welcome on arrival and though the amuse bouche were rather lacking so I was ready to hate this place, but the haunch of venison was so outstanding I'd go back for that alone; I'd be surprised if they're not awarded a Michelin star next year
The food was very good but the size of courses, and therefore quantity to order, was a little confusing. Mains were quite large as was my starter (pigs trotter).
Waited quite a long time for wine to come which meant that we had already eaten delicious sesame sticks and a ton of bread (our fault obviously!) so were over full by the time the main course arrived. Tables a bit close together for romance.
Otherwise very good. Very sweet and helpful waiting staff.
The team from Portland and Clipstone have another gem with Emilia. Superb food inspired by Emilia Romagna's refined cuisine, fine wines by the glass in an elegant room where you can hear yourself talk. Its a compelling formula and highly recommended.
We went to restaurant Emilia on Saturday and it was outstanding. Everything from service to food to wine was thoroughly enjoyable. Some of their interpretations of Italian classics were fantastic, especially the Vitello Tonnatto.
Went during their first week of soft launch. It was a bit difficult to find the restaurant initially! Service could have been better, we had to keep catching the eye of the waiting staff to order food, ask for more water and to get the bill. The food was pretty good apart from the tomatoes in the monkfish main. Dessert was delightful - probably my favourite part of the meal!
