Emilia's Crafted Pasta - Aldgate
Emilia’s Aldgate is a fresh pasta restaurant located in the City within a few minutes walk of Aldgate and Aldgate East tube stations. It's our second restaurant following on from our first critically acclaimed and award winning restaurant in St Katharine Docks.
At Emilia’s all our pasta is made fresh every morning in full view of passers-by and served from our fully open kitchen, combining the warmth and welcome of an Italian kitchen with the theatre and passion behind our pasta.
When the weather permits we also have al fresco dining on our terrace.
Our restaurant has a mixture of chef’s table bar counter seating, bar tables, shared tables, casual seating, tables and an outdoor area. For any specific requirements please call the restaurant directly or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
I nice classy addition to Aldgate eateries. Not your usual offerings on the menu. Lamb ravioli? My friend loved it. Mushroom pasta for me. Mmmm. Abd a shared lemon cake dessert. Light and tangy. Lovely friendly staff. We were on the clock as going to a performance at Wiltons Music Hall nearby. Anticipated our needs and we were on our way in good time. I work in Aldgate so will be back again with colleagues.
Pasta was delicious !!!!! Amazing flavours for a good price ! The atmosphere was really nice!
The food was good!
Good pasta, but few options. Ravioli is good but portion is small
Cacao e pepe was a standout dish. The burrata with heritage tomatoes salad was really good too. Waiter was fast and attentive.
Affogato was really good also!
It was nice but exactly that, nothing to shout about. The lack of offering cheese/black pepper annoyed me though. It’s a pasta place? You should offer/add it at the table, not just plonk down my dish drowned in cheese, lacking black pepper....
Outstanding food and environment! Really cool place
Delicious pasta dishes and sinfully good desserts
Fantastic food and great service. Can’t wait to go back!
Lovely place, very good food and staff is amazing;) If you would like try homemade, pasta you should go there;)
Had high hopes for what is being labeled as "the best pasta in London" but was left underwhelmed. Everything was a little bland. We ate early, around 1:30 on a Friday, which may explain for the lack of atmosphere, yet we walked past the St. Katharines Docks location 20 minutes beforehand and the place was bustling and lively. Despite the lack of customers at the time, the staff were reasonably unattentive but were friendly and polite when serving us. On the plus side, the Emilia's Special dessert was incredible. Overall we left feeling slightly disappointed and we probably wouldn't return.
Emilia’s pasta is excellent but the portions are quite small. I was disappointed with the portion size.
Visited again, food is wonderful.
However, we are again a bit concerned about the lacklustre staff / their engagement, not enough to put us off going again (yet), but it is a downside given the foods quality
We were actually coming from Padela’s but couldn’t get a table due to a 3 hour wait. We then searched online and found Emilia’s and boy were we sure glad we didn’t get a table at the other pasta place! The food at Emilia’s was so good! The burratta was so fresh and the pasta was so al dente! I had the bolognese and it was amazing! I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
Great food , great service at a very reasonable price. Nice evening out, we will be back.
Another great meal and experience at Emilia’s. Delicious food and good service. I have noticed that it is not always that busy, perhaps because of the location it feels a bit like it is surrounded by flats and high rises. Maybe if the restaurant could offer a happy hour or special deals, particularly to local residents, this might help! (I know that this would make me visit more regularly).
The pasta with pesto is exquisite in texture, creaminess and taste. It's a comfortable environment with nice ambience. It is well worth the trip.
Delicious pasta, good portion size and an efficient service
Perfect pasta and wine what more could you want!! Great service from all the staff will be definitely making this one of my regular places to eat.
Wonderful, simple, authentic Italian food - delicious.
Loved the fresh homemade ravioli, service was friendly and attentive and overall a lovely evening. Would definitely come back
Great place for very tasty, authentic and reasonably priced pasta
On a business trip I took my break in this nice little place. Pasta with ragù was amazing! And the service was priceless. The two Italian girls, kept me company and had a pleasant afternoon. Sometimes it's not enough just good food, but also someone who simply asks you "how are you?"
Thanks a lot ☺️
Superb food and nice place. Good rate money and quality.
I took the Bolognese and my boyfriend the ravioli was both delicious.
The service was excellent and friendly.
Thanks Emilia for the nice evening.
I was really looking forward to coming here but was quite disappointed in the end. My boyfriend order the bolognese which was pretty average. The waiting staff weren’t very friendly, our table was forgotten on a few occasions throughout the meal. Our drinks order was messed up at the beginning as well and then the final bill was incorrect. All in all, a disappointing meal especially for the price
Awesome Pasta, really nice staff and the primitivo wine is delicious.
Great evening with the family for Mother’s Day. Satisfied customer, will be back again!
Delicious pasta, very friendly staff, definitely recommend!
Gorgeous pasta and great concept!
Staff are welcoming and helpful. Felt a bit stingy for the price - no extras, no garnish, no bread for example. They aim for a slightly jokey atmosphere - amusing house rules and T-shirts. One of the staff wore a T-shirt making a joke about 'fare la scarpetta' (Italian for wiping your plate with a piece of bread). So maybe they could offer some bread? Not bad but underwhelming.
Very average food. I had the Salmon carbonara which had too much pepper and dried herbs which totally overrun any other flavour in the dish. The service was extremely slow. We ordered Burrata and it took another 45 minutes before we were able to get the waiters attention to order our main. A runner took our order and was very apologetic for the delay but the same occurred at the end of the meal when ordering the bill. A good concept overall but poorly executed.
Consistently excellent pasta. Love the affogato. Highly recommend.
The restaurant was very quiet when I dined, but it was early. The fact that it was so quiet though, meant that the waiting staff had little to do other than ask me how my pasta was. 3 different people asked me if I was enjoying my pasta, which was very good it has to be said. I'd have enjoyed it more though if I'd been left to twirl and slurp in peace.
Lovely food, pleasant atmosphere.
Great food, great price, only slight issue was service was slow even though they were quiet, which was disappointing
have wanted to go here since it opened as the other branch gets rave reviews. Sadly, the day we finally tried it, both us felt our different pasta types were too thick, stodgy and undercooked. The flavours were seriously amazing though, so I 'm hoping we had a one off batch of pasta on that occasion. Will certainly give it another chance though, as like I say, very, very yummy. Very reasonable. Short wine list - very refreshing!
Honestly, amazing food. The Burata is out of this world.
Always a reliable place to get fresh food at a reasonable cost.
For starters, the creamy burrata on toasted ciabatta is a cheese lovers dream. Simple yet tasty. For mains, we have only tried the pappardelle bolognese and it was so good we have never needed to try anything else.
The Food was nice but a little pricey for the portion size. The restaurant was playing very loud pop music, so it was difficult to have a conversation, some nice Italian music would be better.
