Emirates Palace Ramadan Tent
Upon check in we were ushered to our seats in the massive air-conditioned tent and engaged in some light chit-chat and people watching until the gun blast at Grand Mosque signalled time to break the fast.
Lots of local specialites, grilled goat and beef on carvery, never ending tiger prawns, mixed grill, kibbeh and all the standard salads - the variery was above average.
Tiny gripe when I asked for a pour of an orange drink from a jug on the servers table I was told it was 'extra' - gee guys, I just spent 640 dirhams for a buffet, stop being ridiculous
Lovely service and great food. Great place for Iftar and the location was stunning.
Our experience was unsatisfactory. The reception didnt recongnize open table reservation number and kept us waiting. Then there was a scrutiny by the reception if we were wearing shoes and we saw guests who were sandals. The seating thankfully was as requested. We were very surprised with the spread! There was nuthing which deserved a 5 star rating! Everything dish at the tent was easily available anywhere else at much lesser cost and maybe even better ambience! The cost of the iftar was whoping 300+ and the experience was below par than one would expect from emirates palace!
