Great, large eating pub near to New Forest, with locally sourced and varied menu. Table service and good standard of "gastro pub" home cooked food. Large car park outside. Great for Sunday lunch, or date night/family celebration. Staff very friendly and efficient.

Waited more than 45 Minutes for food to be served, during the wait no one came to the table to ask for any drinks order or to keep us updated on progress. Food itself is incredibly bland, with the seasonal veg tasting no different to a bowl of microwaved frozen broccoli. The pub is beautifully decorated though, and I imagine it quite a nice pub to hang out in if you are looking for only some drinks.

I had the belly pork, a favourite of mine when eating out. I've had it at least once before at the Empress of Blandings, and remembered that it was very good. It was very good again! The service was excellent too.

Disappointing that there were no roast dinners available and whilst the fish and chips I had were good my wife’s burger was almost inedible. Shame that the quality of food has diminished as we used to go to the Empress on a regular basis

Love the Restaurant and have used many times but we were disappointed with food this time. Two of us had burgers which were over cooked and tough to chew and £20 for a bottle of Rose?? A lot for a locals pub/restaurant. Still had nice evening x

We have visited Empress of Blandings on a number of occasions for lunch and always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately this Sunday´s roast lunch was below their previous fare - cold plates, luke warm and bland tasting food - nothing to shout about and disappointing. It is a lovely traditional pub with a warm welcome and very convenient for the M27. I am sure this was just an off day for the Chef and normal service will be resumed.

Had a perfectly nice time at the EOB. Staff were very nice and enthusiastic. Service overall was very good. We were met with "unfortunately we've been very busy and we've run out of roasts". Not ideal but I suppose it was 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. So if you want a roast then get there early. Other than that the menu was fine and everyone in my party enjoyed their food. I would go there again.

Great pub, nice menu but having been warned the lamb is cooked pink (as it should be!) mine was over cooked and dry. The Cumberland sauce was so sweet I may as well have had jam. Having said that, it was overall a nice meal. The mini puddings are a great idea. Nice to see rose veal on a menu and the facts on the paper were a great conversation piece!
