Enoteca Da Luca - Old Street
There is a nice ambience to the restaurant. But it could be so much more. In short, the food felt bland and uninspired (but pizzas looked good). In one case, Zuchinni Frites, the dish wrongly positioned as a starter when it should have been a main course side order and was also served slightly burnt.
Great food and good service. Pasta dishes were excellent. We went in August and it was warm inside but that’s the only minor downside of a great restaurant.
Service was poor, too many waitors covering tables. Pasta was bland although garlic bread was tasty
Great place to catch up with friends - reasonably priced, good quality food and wine. Service was fine, staff were friendly enough. Recommend for ease of location and for group bookings.
Lovely food and great service, would go back. We went for a client lunch and it was the perfect environment
Sometimes it takes too long for an order to come from the kitchen. Or waiters don't seem to talk to each other sometimes as they come asking same questions when the order was already taken or they completely forget they need to bring an order out (not sure which way around it actually is). Overall, this is minor and for the rest: great atmosphere, great value for super tasty food.
Food was terrible. Barely anything on the menu was available. Left hungry by the end of the meal. Tiramisu is terrible - barely any sponge
I don't like to complain, but after the experience i wanted to mention a few things. To start our reserved table was half laid out and took us to point this out. Then it took 15 mins for someone to notice to come and ask if we would like a drink while we looked over the food menu. The starters were cold when they arrived. Courgette fries - Padron peppers. The mains; pizza was small, cold and stodgy. Pasta - Crab Tagliatelle was overcooked and therefore unable to be wound around the fork. The service overall was disappointing with the staff not interested in keeping check on the restaurant floor - we had to get up and walk to the bar area to ask for condiments. The only real attention was when they realised we were wanting to pay and leave..
Sadly on the experience had that day, i won't be back in a hurry.
Nice place to go after work for drinks and food is actually good as well. Would definitely go back
I had to clean the crumbs off my seat. Staff were friendly when interacting but disinterested otherwise. Multiple chefs on their phones in the kitchen and outside near the toilets slouching around. Generally a poor experience and was very reluctant to spend £45.
I have frequented this restaurant in several occasions. Each time I visit it is impeccable service.
I have visited in my Smart chair (wheelchair) and it is fully accessible from ground or street level.
However, there is no disabled toilet, but if you are able to get out of your chair and walk or get help 6 steps into the normal rest room, then you will be okay. But this is unacceptable.
For the amount of times I have visited the restaurant in my wheelchair, this restaurant “DESPERATELY” requires an accessible toilet.
The restaurant staff are lovely, especially, once they become familiar with you. The food and service are great.
I would give a five star if the restaurant take into account disabled access toilets. This is important because a client who cannot get out of their wheelchair would and probably ends up spending hours there; and at ultimately would have to leave because there is not a disabled toilet and may have to visit next door perhaps. This needs to change as we are in 2019.
Other than the above, the service and staff are helpful, listen, attentive and serve great food and good portion sizes too.
Italian food in best tradition… beautiful restaurant with good staff. Next time in London we‘ll come back.
The place was half empty on a Friday night, yet after showing us to our seats and handing us menus, nobody ever came to take our orders. The waiters walked past us to deliver drinks to the tables next to us, but when we tried to get their attention, they actively avoided eye-contact and walked past us. After about 20-25 minutes of neck stretching / finger in the air / 'excuse me's that were completely ignored by the staff, we decided to leave.
Food was tasteless. Wait was long. Noise was unbearable. Wine was expensive.
Not value for money. Sorry.
Great little place and quite reasonable given the location. Wine list good and also reasonable. Nero d'Avola went down well. Service was great but lady waiting our table could have cracked a smile (mean & moody works but not waiting on tables)
Food was excellent and very good value for money. Can't wait to go back.
Calamari were delicious as was sea bream and lamb shank. Service good. Wine coukd have been better value. Would go back
Really loud and no atmosphere, not the friendliest staff, food is ok but not anything amazing.
The food was excellent, as was the wine. First time there but would definitely go back. I thouroughly recommend the calzone! Bravo..
Great food - great people - and Rome prices rather than LONDON prices
Nice spot- the music was very loud making it hard to chat
The food was great but it took very long to receive it. More than an hour!
It was my grandma's birthday, so I'd asked that they could make a slight bit of fuss about her. However, despite it being empty when we arrived, service was meh. We waiting 35 mins between our starter and main course, which at lunchtime is insane. Food was fine but cold.
Food was okay but for the price I expected a bit more. Service and ambience was great.
Great for larger gatherings, spoiled for choice with excellent pizzas and the best Spritz in London.
