Enoteca da Luca - St. Pauls
From small tapas style dishes to larger plates, our menu comprises of some Italian classics with a carefully crafted twist, such as seasonal homemade pappardelle with a slow cooked pork ragu as well as an extensive wine list, you'll be forgiven for thinking that you have stumbled into a local Enoteca in Italy.
With fine leather booth seats, a relaxed atmosphere and friendly service, the space is great for all occasions whether its a business lunch, catching up with friends, or private functions and a wine tasting.
Delicious food and equally great service. I always enjoy it here.
Service was a little “lack lustre “.
Four friends and I met at this pub, which is near where we all used to work 30 years ago!! St Paul's is just 2 minutes walk away. It was fairly noisy when we first arrived and although I had booked it weeks ago, they didn't have a table ready for us. However, it was soon sorted and we had an enjoyable evening...a lovely New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and some delicious italian dishes.
I have written previously about he very high quality of all the restaurants and bars in this small chain.
Atmosphere, service, drink choice and food are superb. Never a complaint.
Great food and service not to mention a delicious brunello
Great evening. Buzzy atmosphere. We opted for tapas style dining with smaller plates but there is the option to have main meals. Roasted cauliflower was delish! Lovely wine selection too.
Despite having been to Enoteca many times before and enjoying it, this time we were hurried throughout the whole meal. Our mains arrived a few minutes after our wine and starters had been brought to us, which we had hardly even had the chance to begin eating. When we asked if we could have the mains a little later, we were given a frosty response; they were then brought back cold about 20 minutes later. Rather odd but delicious wine nonetheless!
Went for a late luch -very good food -staff are always attentive . Wine list could do with an update and not that competively priced. Overall a great experience
All of the Enoteca bar/restaurants have their own style and ambience within the same overall theme of authentic Italian wine, food and service. The Watling St, St. Paul's venue has an excellent vibe and always provides great food, wine and service. The price point seems to have crept up a little but they remain good value. The music is also worth mentioning as the selection always places you in a good frame of mind and you genuinely do not want to leave.
Will definitely return to Enoteca da Luca. Our server was really friendly and service was fast and the food was lovely. Quite expensive for what you get but the quality makes up for it.
Baked camembert and parmesan fries were delicious!
We had a really special night. The food was exceptional and our waiter was really good with the wine suggestions and with the banter 😁
Really nice to find a family feeling place in corporate bank area. Definitely going back 👍🏼
Poor service they ran out of tomato sauce and for pasta? weird considering it is an Italian. Cauliflower was burnt
first time visit, but on the back of numerous good experiences at sister restaurant Enoteca da Luca at Devonshire square slightly different menu but with good old favs good wine selection as well. nice setting and good for a quite lunch to have a chat for two over.
We had a pre-theatre dinner, everything was great but service was slow - we barely made on time
Food was delicious. Some of the staff were really rude and disinterested. It felt like a massive imposition to ask for anything.
Service was tired and lethargic
Very slow service at a late lunch sitting when it wasn’t that full. Good bread but the pasta with wild boar ragu was very bland. Will still with manicomio next time. Still for a city lunch not massively expensive.
Had a great meal and the staff were lovely
Excellent food and a very buzzing atmosphere. Service was a bit hit and miss due to how busy it was, but no mistakes on what we ordered or the bill.
Loved it, great atmosphere as well as good food and wine
Nice place friendly staff good food.
I was a bit skeptical to come visit after reading few of the previous reviews but I decided to give it a chance anyway.
A warm welcome at the door, friendly staff and very well prepared on both food&wine.
The food is superb... truly Italian; prosciutto, buttata and beef tartare so yummy. As a main I went for wild Boar Pappardelle; spectacular. The wine I choose wasn’t in stock unfortunately but the waiter suggested a great Replacement that truly made our experience there.
A nice shot of limoncello to finish as kings.
I will definitely go back to try some more of the delicious dishes and wines. Great vibes. Highly recommend it.
I am writing to provide feedback for my experience at Enoteca in St Paul’s on Wednesday evening.
It was my first time dining there and I am disappointed to say I did not enjoy the level of service I received.
I had a 5:15pm booking. The restaurant had 2/3 other tables in there at the time, so it was pretty much empty. After a 20 minute wait, I had to go and find a waiter or waitress who could take our drinks order. The fact I had to leave my table and seek an employee who could take our order is not acceptable.
When paying the bill and requesting the discretionary service charge to be removed, I explained to the waiter why I was refusing to pay this and he wasn’t remotely interested why - and no apology was given.
I do not intend to return anytime soon. Which is a shame because my office is just along from the St Pauls branch.
Service was a little abrupt/dismissive and the pasta we ordered (wild boar pappardelle and tagliolina alla Norma) was underwhelming. We were starving so did eat the food but wouldn’t return. Drinks service was slow but nice when they did turn up. Nice atmosphere and decor.
Food is really good but service was terrible. Waitresses were grumpy and rude so won’t be going back any time soon.
This is a lovely place for a quick but tasty work lunch or friends catch up. Plenty of variety, quick service and lovely atmosphere.
Fantastic food and wine as always in a cosy atmosphere
The food was nice but the waiter had an attitude and didnt appear to want to be there. We waited a long time to order - struggled to catch his eye and once we had finished eating sat with dirty plates in front of us for a long time.
Always good food and service levels to die for. Was quite cold and draughty but take nothing away from the previous statement!
Good food but wine glasses are very pricey and service was far from ideal: the waiter seemed rather bored and uninterested in taking our order, he did not bring the wine until we had to remind him to (after the mains arrived), the dessert was very long to come and when it did, it came without cutlery. A rather disappointing second visit after a much more memorable first visit.
Starters were fine, antipasto is hard to get wrong, pork belly was very nice as was the arancini.
Had the wild boar pappardelle for main - expected chunks of meat in a flavourful sauce/ragu. What we got was a generic mince in the blandest of sauces/ragu. Very poor dish!
Truffle tiramisu- so so disappointing! Why mess with a classic? This dish doesn’t work.
Service was poor...waiting staff were more interested in chatting to each other instead of looking after their diners.
I ate here 2 years ago and it was excellent, it’s sad that this latest experience was the opposite.
All of the Enoteca restaurants are a delight. Harmonious environments which blend food, drinks and service to a level of conviviality which is relaxed and yet executed to a high level.
good italian food, i loved the fried polenta with porcini with a glass of valpolicella
Enjoyed a nice lunch with friends last week, good food
Staff and food was superb. The waitress was responsive, engaging and had opinions of what would be good options for lunch. It was brilliant.
Met an old work colleague for dinner.
Superb, delicious food with emphasis on taste and quality. Really good wine and quick unobtrusive service, even on a busy, pre Christmas evening.
Will definitely be returning to try more of the menu :)
We had a lovely meal as always, wonderful food and great wine
I have been to Enoteca twice for dinner in the last few weeks. One was with a group of 12 , next as a couple.
In both occasions there were delays and issues with service. The waiting staff looked overwhelmed and panicked.
The food is good but not good enough to distract you from the overall experience and when your starters arrive together with mains and mains taken back and brought back later slightly cold ; that is not the kind of attention you expect for a meal almost £100 per person. Not an awful experience but not amazing either for both visits.
The Food was a very high standard and my party of 6 all enjoyed their meals. The only thing I think marks them down is the service - with the exception of one waitress who was very chatty and smiley, everyone else was quite stern.
