Rosso was born in a wine cellar. We were sipping excellent wine, enjoying an amazing variety of cheeses and charcuterie. One thing led to another and another bottle of wine had to be tried. Then we had to try the patron’s pasta and, of course, more wine to taste. Oh, and a bit more cheese and cured meats!

This was the beginning of our journey. Now we want to bring you that particularly Italian way of sharing mealtimes; chatting with family and friends, tasting an array of regional delicacies and above all discussing the food and wine. This isn’t just about consumption, it’s about the attitude towards and the passion for the produce.

Great food and ambience. The restaurant overlooks the deli and you can buy some of the products too! The seabass was perfectly cooked and the starters were delicious too! We had the burrata and caponata. I recommend :)

Waited for my pasta for a hour , it never arrived, so I left hungry. The waiter said “ whoever took your order, he didn’t pass it to the kitchen” he was very surprised to find out that it was him who took my order.

Since my last visit which was pre-pandemic, the establishment has become more Enoteca than Ristorante. We sat outside, the food was simple (lasagna) but tasty and the wine list shorter than before but interesting in a good way. My companion fell foul of a pickpocket - his oversight entirely - but the staff could not have been more helpful and sympathetic, so a big thank you to them.

We were surprised with the poor service as we often come here . We specifically asked the waiter if the meal had potatoes . He said yes The m,eal arrive d with none We asked why. They then checked with the kitchen, Portions of chips arrived softer we had eaten the meal The only recompense was not to charge us for our coffees

We live next door and see how the place downshifted post pandemic. Management is always struggling with their own booking system, arguing in between each other and is generally very unwelcoming to guests. Number of items from the dinner menu were simply not available on Friday at 7.30 pm, ordered items never came, starters came together with mains. What else you can do wrong?? It’s a shame they occupy such a convenient location..

Servers were all standing around coffee machine chatting so had to flag down to come take order. Servers were busy carrying things downstairs and didn’t walk around frequently to check on tables. Food was good so if servers could be more attentive, would be a good spot!

First class ingredients, put together exquisitely in deceptively simple but original combinations. Plus some classics. Friendly, informal but attentive service. The wine list starts at around £40+ but judging by the bottle we enjoyed still represents good value. Do try the deconstructed tiramisu, which allows you to rediscover and old friend and remember why you liked them so much! One or two tweaks to the (spot) lighting to soften the ambience and this place would be perfect.

I would not recommend that restaurant even to my worst enemy. The food was not even Italian and overpriced. Overall a very disappointing experience.
