It was very hot inside while we were dining. Portions are very small for the price, food was ok, not impressed. They didn’t have a bottle of champagne we ordered. Then it took another 30min to just get another bottle. Beautiful hotel

Food was amazing and customer service spectacular! We visited while there was a visiting chef and everything we ordered was delicious. The best moles (we tasted 3) and fideo we’ve had!

Food was amazing. The service was good, but I hate the up selling. I know Tequila pretty well so if you say you have 150 brands you better have a tequila list? How else would I know what you have? The chef is so creative with his dishes I just wish the service was on that level. It was late I know when we came in but is that an excuse?

La comida de regular a mediocre. Para dar un contexto, Soy un comensal que le gusta la buena mesa y que he tenido la fortuna de cenar en restaurantes de talla internacional dentro de los mejores complejos hoteleros. El restaurante carece de liderazgo, y su principal área de oportunidad es su servicio. En este tipo de restaurantes lo que menos quiero es estar persiguiendo a un mesero por que me falta algo de servicio, o levantando la mano para que me traigan una bebida, que el mesero ya se sienta frustrado por no poder dar la talla y caiga en la molestia. Segundo es que la comida mexicana no se debe tropicalizar con el fin de satisfacer el paladar extranjero, convierte la comida mexicana en una aberración de sabores blandos y sin personalidad, atrapados en un caldillo sin sabor o unos tacos de langosta aburridos. Si lo que desean es llevar a su restaurante a otro nivel, con comensales exigentes pero espléndidos. Les recomiendo contraten un gerente o supervisor que sepa de la gastronomía y del servicio de excelencia que hace único en el mundo a nuestro país. Avísenme cuando eso pase ya que hasta entonces yo y mi círculo de amigos no pisaremos su lugar otra vez.

Food was beyond incredible. We loved the meat ceviche, incredibly tasting and well presented. Tortilla soup awesome. Duck tacos just as awesome. Menu options were creative and not the typical fare which made this experience so incredible. Also tried the chicken with pink mole sauce, exceptional. Oh by the way, I had jalapeño margaritas ! The waiters also made the experience. I wish this restaurant was around the corner to me. Can’t wait to go back.

Don't be fooled by the "mushroom soup" - it's an exotic combination of flavours and textures that I think may remain the highlight of this trip. Presentation is part of it as well and the service is far and away the best I've ever enjoyed. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to be able to make a slight modification to a menu item and enjoy a delicious/satisfying meal containing plant based protein in a beautiful setting. I had the Mollotes (sin chorizo) and there was enough to take some back to my room.

Epazote is a wonderful choice. We enjoyed the rib eye ceviche for our appetizer. It was delicious and a different take on this traditional dish. We also enjoyed our main course. I had a salad, which was wonderful and very fresh. My husband had a steak that he raved about. Dessert was awesome! Fresh churros with chocolate and caramel dipping sauce. Yum! We sat outside and loved every minute. Just like every venue at Vidanta, the grounds and decor are amazing.

Awful service. Waited 20 minutes after reserved time for table and restaurant was barely half full. Took 1 hour (you read right - 1 hour) to get bill after asking at least 5 times.

We were excited to eat at this beautiful restaurant. Unfortunately, the service and food was really bad. We asked for a beverage and never got it. We sat with empty water glasses for most of the dinner. The meals didn't come as ordered. Also, the food just wasn't good. I ordered lobster tacos and they tasted awful. No flavor and it was difficult to find the lobster. Others at our table complained about the taste of the corn and the lack of flavor. Another dish was ordered with the mole sauce on the side and it came on the plate. I definitely wouldn't go back!

We love this restaurant. Consistantly delicious food, conciencious service and what I consider fair prices for the food and drink. It is tucked into the corner of tower 1 and is a great place for a quiet, intimate dinner. There is often soft, live music at the bar just outside that blends nicely with an aready great atmosphere. Recommend highly.

This was our second time here, the first dining visit was better -Waiters were nice, service was good. food was just average. Drinks take a long time to get, but good. I ordered the seafood soup But not what I expected- presentation was impressive- however watery tomato broth with a few pieces of un-identifiable fish, a shrimp, 1 clam, tasted like it had just been thrown together. For my main course I had the fish of the day- mahi-mahi, which was ok but tasted more like tilapia. Maybe different fish type here in Mexico. During the meal, another table with 2 kids were watching their iPads too loudly and we asked the waiter ask to turn it down- he told the manager, who then told the parents who replied that we were the reason they had the Ipad so loud- so the manager came over and told us this. Totally unprofessional and rude in my opinion. He did not need to come back to our table and tell us what the other local family said. Will not return for the price and condescending treatment.

Excellent modern Mexican, but expect smaller portions. I had the fish of the day which was super fresh and bigger than what I’d expect. I drank a Paloma, and my friends had margarita. Both were really fresh and not overly sweet. Highly recommend the churros for dessert!

Food was good. The tableside drink mixologist was outstanding and the best part of the expirence. The service was the worst I've ever had the displeasure of enduring at a resort. Very disappointing.

Beautiful outdoor dining (try not to sit inside ). Very attentive staff. Interesting menu but might be tricky for some. The dry noodle appetizer was sensational. The shrimp was also very good but the short ribs were disappointing. They sometimes have a tasting menu that looked interesting too.

Food was extraordinary and very creative. Cocktail cart was terrific, as was the mixologist. Our waiter acted like he was doing us a favor by waiting on us and could have been more helpful.

The experience was not pleasant at all except for the sommelier, who was fabulous.
It started with us getting cocktails at the Luxxe bar and when asked at the restaurant if we wanted cocktail and we told them we had already had one at the bar they were quite disappointed.

The Vidanta app has a completely different menu than what is actually at the restaurant.
The app does not let you know that during their promotion that you cannot have access to the full menu.
Had we had know this we would have chosen another restaurant.
The promotion did not represent good value in our opinion, first I personally do not like Lamb or Fish, and it would have been too much food for one person.
When we ordered from the menu, my husband's portions were the same size as on the promotion and not what he expected at all. We both left feeling hungry and disappointed with the dinner. We went back to the Luxxe bar for another cocktail and enjoy the entertainment and when the bartender asked about our dinner we told him what had happened. Next thing a waiter from Epazote is bringing us out some beef thing that was dried out and in a cold pot and served it to us with nacho chips, I guess they thought that would make things better. Actually just made the whole experience worse. it used to be one of our favourite restaurants but now with this promotion and changing the main menu it is just not representing good value at all.

The food was delicious but they were offering a tasting menu option and a limited menu. We weren’t aware the menu was limited and weren’t interested in the tasting menu so we all had the short ribs.
My daughter is gluten intolerant and we were assured the short ribs were gluten free unfortunately my daughter was very sick. Be careful if you have gluten intolerance.

Terrible service. We researched this restaurant before making a reservation for our family and were excited for a fabulous dining experience... though our children are young (8 and 11), they are accustomed to trying new things and have a great deal of experience dining in finer restaurants - not a big deal to us. The staff looked at us like we were nuts when we arrived with kids. We were literally the only people in the restaurant at 7pm and it took OVER an hour for our entrees to arrive (one other table was seated during this time). The food was very good but the portions quite small and again, incredibly slow service - particularly when there was not one other patron in sight. They also got our daughter's order wrong. How, I'm not quite sure (again, when there was no one else in the restaurant to wait on). They also refused to let us sit on the patio because we were not ordering from the tasting menu...it appeared that there was not anyone even seated there at the time. Very disappointing. They did bring us a free dessert after two hours to try to make amends. Great experiences at all other Vidanta restaurants - not this one.

Wonderful restaurant. Shrimp epazote, caldo de piedra soup, ribeye, delicious food. Our waiter seemed distracted/ inattentive. But we’ve eaten here many times and it is delicious.

Located within the Vidanta resort inside tower one of the Grand Luxxe, Epazote has both inside and outside seating. We chose to sit outside and were very happy with our choice. There isn't really a view but the weather was perfect for al fresco dining. The decor is really nice with large pots, plants and cool lights set within baskets. I would suggest that they change the background music. Instead of the canned generic music, I would have appreciated some authentic Mexican music, like their name straight out states.

Hubby started his meal with the crispy octopus. It was really pretty and more like a tempura octopus. I love a tempura batter. I tasted it and thought it well cooked but I don't really care for octopus in general so I am not a good judge. Hubby thought the dish good but not exceptional. We both opted for a soup course. I had the Tortilla soup and he had the fish soup. The presentation on both was excellent. They brought the bowls filled with the chunky stuff and then poured the broth over. I thought my tortilla soup to the best item that we ordered that night. It was really tasty and not too rich. Hubby's fish soup tasty way too fishy for me. He only thought it average as well. Our big disappointment though were our mains. I had the lobster tacos and hubby the fish of the day. There were four tacos on my plate. The way they were made it was impossible to pick them up so I had to eat them with a fork and knife. In the end I just ate the filling out with a fork. The lobster was cut too small and impossible to taste. I would have preferred only three tacos and larger chunks of lobster. Also, I didn't like all the stuff they put with it. Not sure what it all was but it totally masked any lobster flavor. Hubby's fish of the day was bland and unimpressive.

We opted out of dessert but loved the little bit of strawberry ice cream they provided like a mint at the end of the meal.

Unacceptably slow service. This was our 5th dinner at Epazote in 4 years; and something changed in a bad way. This was our favorite Vidanta restaurant but after this experience we likely won’t return during this trip. It took an hour to get our entrees, enough time for other guests to be seated, plated, and leave. They seemed caught off guard when we requested the table side margaritas. The food was good, but for a half-empty restaurant it was not a good experience.

Excellent attentive staff. The bar service was exceptionally informative about tequilas. We truly enjoyed our meal and the experience.

Food was so good the first time we headed back a week later. Had the same appetizer- steak ceviche. Tried 2 new main dishes. Both excellent. Definitely will come back on next visit.

Service was wonderful. They even sent someone to another restaurant to get a bottle of wine that they were out of.

Entree’s were delicious. Wife had duck. I had the filet with lobster.
