Absolutely loved it here. Really refreshing food ideas and great service!
There was a long wait for the food for which the waiter did apologise. He was nice and seemed to be the only one serving the tables. It was very quiet when we arrived at 7pm but it did liven up while we waited for our food. The food was mainly good and we enjoyed the fsh and burger. The mac n cheese was bland and we wouldn't order it again. Being new to Brighton and with so many vegan options, I wouldn't rush to eat here again as I would rather try other places first.
All around good restaurant, food was great value for money and staff were friendly and efficient.
This was wonderful food regardless of whether you are a vegan or not - I'm a carnivore, my daughter is vegan, son is vegetarian and wife lactose intolerant, we all had different mains and enjoyed them immensely. Good, short, wine list and friendly service.
Unbelievable food. Every dish we ordered was fantastic. The jackfruit tacos really hid the taste of the jackfruit well and it actually tasted meat-like. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. Great prices and decor. Would recommend.
We arrived and were seated to our table promptly, although the decor is pleasant there is something a bit cheap with it. Mismatching wine glasses, flimsy tables & chairs.
We had to flag a passing waitress for drinks & food order after sitting there for 20 mins.
It then took a further 30 mins to have the starters brought out to us which were hummus (lacked seasoning, garlic & lemon) & gespacho (resembled puréed tomato from a tube)
We then waited a further 50 mins before they brought out warm olives (gag) by way of saying sorry that our mains were running late which was cauliflower 5 ways (I mean, how long does it actually take to cook a cauliflower).
I then enquired as to how long the main would be which I was told by the waitress she would check…a further 10 mins later she came back to me and said it would be another 5 mins. At which point we’d had enough, I cancelled the main and paid for the starters & drinks which they did discount.
(The table next to us encountered similar problems)
This place is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and trying to be something it’s not, a very odd little restaurant that tries too hard.
If you want good, quality food, a nice professional setting (without the cheap decor & mismatching glasses) and efficient service then AVOID this place like the plague.
Food was really good.
Service was friendly and attentive.
Unfortunately, there was a very long wait (at least an hour) for mains. Not sure why. Waiters said they were busy but they do need to be able to after for all the tables they have spread out bookings etc.
They did give us 25% off the bill and the food was very good so I'd definitely give it another chance.
The staff were amazingly attentive and helpful.
Delicious food - I recommend the burger - one of the best vegan burgers I’ve ever had.
My only gripe would be there was only 2 desert choices but I gather this is because they are made from scratch so it would take too long to have more choices.
Overall, a lovely experience.
Really lovely food and the staff were great. Great value too - large portions and a wide variety of flavours and choices. Nice wine selection and starters, nibbles etc. were good. Only quibble was the Timarisu - not sure if it was freshly made - tasted a bit dry so a slightly disappointing end to what was otherwise a great meal.
Lovely food, lovely ambience and welcoming staff.
Really nice place, cozy and quiet. The stuff is really polite and friendly. The food was tasty, not junk food but proper healthy food. All vegan I had the roasted lamb with potatoes and raspberry virgin moijto. Everything was delicious.
Had really nice lunch while sitting at a peaceful outside table. Choice was not as wide as the online menu suggested but was still perfectly adequate. Would like to go back to try full dinner menu.
I had the garlic mushroom and kale on sourdough, good portion size and value for money. Kale crisps were tasty and a nice way to start the meal.
Wanted to treat my best friend to a birthday meal and boy was it a treat. The food was sooo good. We had the mock lamb, burger and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was exceptionally good but everything packed flavour. Perfect ambience for going with a small group of friends or on a date.
Also wanted to say a huge thank you to the waiting staff member who was working on the evening of Thursday 5th August. Our booking was at 6pm. He was exceptionally good at keeping us happy, made amazing cocktails and was just very accommodating and lovely. It also got pretty busy and he did well at working all the tables.
All in all a really good meal and a lovely evening made special by the food, ambience and staff. I'll be back again.
The food was incredible and the staff were super friendly and welcoming would definitely eat here again!
The food was nice and the service was ok, but it took quite a long time to wait for mains, (over an hour long) not entirely sure what happened or any explanation really given but was disappointed. I can’t recommend it because of this reason, though I did enjoy overall.
We had a lovely meal. The place is nice and relaxed with attentive and engaging staff. The food was lovely - a real joy to eat in a fully vegan restaurant!
I was excited to try erpingham house. I am a plant based chef and love championing vegan restaurants.
However, when I asked the waiter if I could have a margarita he rather snottily said that they didn’t do them and I should choose a cocktail from the list. Which I did. The restaurant wasn’t busy. After 10 minutes I saw my cocktail sitting on the bar, where it stayed sitting for another ten minutes. The supervisor wasn’t interested in serving me. Neither the waiter. I found the atmosphere stifling. When my guest arrived I decided it was time to leave. When questioned by said waiter why I was leaving. I told him that the 20 minute wait for my drink was not a great sign of things to come. He rather rudely told me it was on its way. Made me feel really uncomfortable. So we left. Didn’t get to try the food. Won’t be coming back to try the food.
My 6th visit and it never disappoints! Lots of delicious dishes to choose from :)
It was are first time visiting Brighton so we had no idea where to eat. My wife and I are vegetarians so we searched on Google the best places to eat. Erpingham house came up as a vegan restaurant so that suited are requirements.
The restaurant is small but very cosy for couples. The staff were excellent and the service very prompt. We both ordered the vegan mock lamb which was amazing. It really was a great meal and we had a great night.
Amazing food! Must try aubergine main dish! Will come back again
The most delicious vegan food , great service and excellent value.
And I am not even a vegan!
The most incredible food and service! We were very impressed and will definitely be returning!
Outstanding service and food. Don't think I have ever eaten better at a restaurant. Seriously. Also, very reasonably prices. Vegan is the best!
Lovely food, great value, will be going back. Would recommend.
Excellent first time time to a vegan restaurant but was pleasantly surprised and the food taste was superb, thanks to eldest daughters persuasion to go and try. Recommend to anyone who wants to try, thanks. Great service
Really lovely vegan restaurant in the lanes. Had such a delicious dinner! Really raving about the mock lamb and the caeser salad, topped off with the best espresso martini I’ve ever had! My girlfriend loved the celebration of cauliflower which I really helped myself to as well!
I will have to come back at some point to try out all the desert options as I was so full by the end!
Really great vegan cocktail and wine menu too, would recommend as a romantic dinner spot!
The food here is incredible. Best vegan meal I've had in Brighton.
Cute little restaurant with a nice, chilled atmosphere. Staff were absolutely charming. We had the jackfruit tacos which were nice but could have had a bit more flavouring. Then a Buddha bowl which I found a bit disappointing. All nice (apart from the seitan which was slightly smoky with an odd aftertaste for me) but nothing remarkable. Mocktails we’re both delicious. Everything was good value.
Great food and service.. A total taste sensation from start to finish.
This was my third visit to Erpingham House and I continue to be really impressed. The food is just outstanding, such good quality. I had the mock lamb and potatoes and I wish I could eat it all over again right now it was so delicious! I’m not vegan but my husband is so finding this place has been brilliantly. The restaurant itself is lovely and the staff are really friendly. Highly recommended
Get vegan menu. The cocktails completed the meal delightfully well.
Lovely place, lovely food but limited gluten free options to tempt my omni partner. Staff were great though!
Food was delicious, service was friendly and prompt. Would definitely return.
The food was outstanding! Between our table of 4 we tried the jackfruit tacos, the roast lamb, the miso aubergine, the mac & cheese side and the jackfruit pancakes. All were delicious and completely empty plates all round. The whole bill came to less than £100 and we had a bottle of wine as well so was excellent value for money. Our server was the perfect amount of attentive and evidently cared about his work. Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu!
Great to be in a restaurant where the whole menu is plant based but a long way to go if they want to compete with other fantastic plant based restaurants in Brighton. The service felt inattentive (and thats from an introvert!). We had to constantly ask for things such as our first drink while we were waiting for a friend to arrive. A dirty glass, then not enough plates delivered, the a side dish much later than the main course. Nothing awful but just not on their game to be honest.
The food was OK but not tasty enough for me to want to return. Small things matter, for example, the hoisin pancake sharing plate came with more pancakes than fillings, so we all had to have tiny amounts in each one! If I hadn't already experienced some of the competition then I would not be quiet as disappointed. I hope they can get better as the more options for plant based eating the better.
Absolutely loved it, food was tip top, service was excellent and the cocktails delicious. I will definitely be booking again very soon.
Lovely food, drinks and waiter… but having delicious cocktails on the menu slowed service significantly… perhaps don’t serve cocktails during peak eating times… couldnt get a glass of wine , it hadn’t even arrived after the main course had been scoffed!
Incredible food and so reasonably priced. The staff were wonderful, helpful and attentive and the atmosphere was lovely. I cannot wait to go back.
Amazing food! Lovely spot to have a drink and delicious vegan food
