food was beautiful. Great vegan dishes and tasty cocktails. Must go !
Firstly told that we had booked for the wrong amount of people - we hadn't, they had mixed us up with another table, and were kept waiting for ages with no apology. From then on we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing them by eating at their restaurant. The service was very poor, the waiter was distracted taking our order and didn't even look at us, and once our mains were cleared we were told to have a nice evening, and were not offered anything else. The food itself was salty and not worth the money. Had to try and get someone's attention for 20 minutes before we could ask for a dessert menu, and even that was a bit of a let down. For the amount of money we paid, it definitely wasn't worth it. A shame considering when we came previously in a larger group with parents (we are students) we received very good service and the experience was very enjoyable, hence the reason we came back. However, we felt being younger, we were ignored and not seen as valuable customers, depsite the fact we paid and tipped like everyone else. We are part of a big vegan community back home, and definitely will not be recommending this restaurant so anyone who may be visiting Brighton. It was a very disappointing evening that we had been looking forward to, and we will not be returning.
We had such a lovely evening/meal here last night. The food is sensational, everything was super tasty including the cocktails. Well priced and great value for money. Few things I would have liked to not see…plastic menus and plastic straws. Food really over delivered based on how the place looked to be honest! Would highly recommend!
Lovey food, great service. Highly recommend. Well done!
Was very excited to try this restaurant so booked lunch with a friend. Service was fantastic from when we arrived. There was a musty smell which was incredibly bad where the toilets were. The food was good, great choice from the menu but not as tasty as other restaurants. Both my friend and I felt it wasn’t great.
Congrats and shout out to the chef!
Really tasty and such fancy food dressing… so gorgeous and the colour scheme for the whole cozyness vibe. staff are friendly. went for a bday celebration with my best friend. we were so impressed ( and affordable)!
What’s to envy from the restaurant IVY? nothing.
4.5/5 - got outside seating and the ambiance was wonderful! The food was delicious and fair portioned for the price. Some delays with service but also understand it was a Saturday afternoon. Great location,
Having been once before I knew my partner would enjoy the food
We weren’t let down !
Starters and mains sensational !
The mock tails , oh the mock tails !
Sadly no room for desserts.
Next time I’ll fast to make sure
So reasonable for such special food
Thanks to all the staff
First time trying out Erpingham House and we would highly recommend it. Service was excellent and in these COVID times every precaution has been taken to ensure your safety. The food was outstanding.
Great food, the staff were courteous and extremely pleasant.
I love this restaurant! I am vegan and my friend is mostly plant based and we both loved it. The food is incredible and the service is really great, everyone is so friendly and helpful. The covid guidance is great, very helpful information and precautions but not so much so that you can’t enjoy a normal meal. Absolutely loved it and will be returning again and again!
I've eaten at Erpingham House several times over the last 18 months (when not in lockdown!) and always enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Interesting menus and very helpful staff. Definitely a restaurant to recommend.
A fantastic meal, great value and brill service. Already planning our next visit.
Amazing, Fully plant-based menu. High quality food and service
Lovely food, so incredible to visit fully plant based restaurants although drinks were incredibly slow, we ordered them before our food and they arrived at the same time. Very quiet downstairs and there was a green light on the wall behind us which was quite off putting as gave everything a green/yellow tint but otherwise very lovely
We tried to get in touch with Erpingham House directly but their contact email address returns an automated message stating it isn't manned. Very odd, why keep it on your website then? It also states that if you still want to get in touch to contact Josh. Josh doesn't respond to emails, it seems very much reflective of the service we received on the night of our booking.
The promise was great, interesting menu and being vegan ability to have any of the options.
Our booking was for 8:15pm and welcome was warm and friendly. We ordered nibbles, mains and drinks. None of the glasses were matching or appropriate for the drinks we chose due to shortage but that didn't bother us. Nibbles arrived with no cutlery or cocktail stick so we had to eat using our hands, very unsociable in covid times.
Then only 3 mains arrived, missing the fourth. Still no cutlery. Three of us eventually ate while the forth waited for their food. The dish was then obviously cooked in a rush as it was lower standard to the identical dish that arrived on time.
Our waitress and one of the waiters were very quick to clear the table constantly asking if we had finished our drinks when clearly they were still in our (mismatched) glasses.
We then ordered puddings excited by the prospect of a vegan tiramisu and interesting coffees. The tiramisu didn't resemble the real deal at all using a tough biscuit instead of lady's fingers for the sponge element. It was bad. Again we kept being asked if we had finished, once when one of our party was still chewing.
It was no surprise that the waitress left the restaurant before we did. You shouldn't accept 8:15pm bookings if people will then be rushed. Especially as the delayed main was the main reason we took longer.
Will not return. I would recommend Botanique as a far superior plant based dining experience in the area.
Vegan food that is tasty, original and well presented. The service was friendly, but unobtrusive.
Absolutely fantastic place. Great food. Fantastic staff. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend for any vegan/vegetarian
Really great food. It was just a bit cold in the restaurant so I didn’t take my coat off, and the benches are uncomfortable. More of a cafe feel that a restaurant. Although the food was definitely restaurant quality and it was excellent value. Will go again.
The food was fabulous and service very helpful - our waiter made some excellent recommendations
Great value for money, delicious food and friendly staff.
The food was absolutely delicious!! Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely return when I visit Brighton again
The food was just amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful! Loved it!
The food was very tasty and well presented, and the service was excellent. Friendly, attentive staff.
I have booked the table outside for my family for a nice lunch. Unfortunately nothing was prepared in fact the manager informed us that more then a half of the menu is unavailable due to some issue with delivery which I should be informed before. We have waited over 45 min for food and not only one dish for my partner was missing but also food looked over cooked, so dry like it’s been sitting all this time under heating lamp or in over. We have ordered “fish & potatoes”. The fish was so hard you could not cut in to and potatoes so brown and also dry, not to mention tasteless peas.
Very disappointing as expected much better from reviews, my worst birthday ever! Only bonus was our waitress was lovely.
I would highly recommend this restaurant, the food and cocktails were incredible. The decor in the restaurant was super fun, and there was a great atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, massive thank you to our waitress Sam who was amazing. Can not wait to come back and visit soon.
Delicious food and excellent service! We will definitely be coming back.
The service was very friendly and attentive without being OTT. The menu was succint which helped make choices between all the delicious sounding things! Every dish had obviously been prepared with love and care and was delicious.
A great little find in the heart of Brighton, I’d definitely recommend a visit.
Wonderful experience. First vegan meal out I’ve had. Very flavourful, delicious food, great service and lovely environment. Highly recommended:)
Great food and service. Will return....
Great find. Lovely atmosphere. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back.
Excellent food, superb service, lovely and even wished me a happy birthday.
Whilst we enjoyed the food and the dining experience it was quite embarrassing for us to have to query the “50% off on Mondays starting 24th May” as per the email myself and another guest received. We were asked to find this email as “proof”. Upon providing this “proof” we were then told it was a “marketing error” and management would allow the discount for this one time only.
Absolutely delicious food and drinks (had an amazing raspberry mocktail), really friendly staff. Highly recommend, will definitely be going back!
Excellent vegetarian food. Great value; fsh & chips highly recommended!
Absolutely delicious. Great place to meet friends for a special lunch.
Very attentive with my coeliac disease and provided me with a hand written list of all the things I could have off the menu. The food was delicious.
It took over an hour to get any food and we had to survive on just a cocktail until then. Wine came out before food (in wrong glasses might I add) and tasted awful, asked to have it returned and wasnt offered an alternative wine just a cocktail which in the end came AFTER we finished our meal. Food wasn't bad but given the reviews I was expecting much better.
Biggest issue was service, staff seemed oblivious as to what to do and who needed what, We had other peoples food come to us on two occasions and albeit amusing I couldnt help but feel a bit cheated of a special occasion (it was mine and my partners anniversary).
I hope you can turn things around and live up to your previous reputation however after last night I feel you have a LONG way to go. I appreciated the manager discounting the bill but that doesn't change the fact that the evening was one negative thing after another.
