We visit Estbek House whenever we holiday in the area. The owners and staff are an absolute delight. The ambience is graceful and comfortable. The food is sublime. We chose pan ko coated crab claws and scallops for starter. Beautifully cooked and elegantly presented. For main course we both had cod and haddock mornay. Absolutely delicious. Dessert is a lovely choice of small desserts (espresso cup sized) so we could sample several. All delicious. Price is higher than a standard seaside fish cafe but the standard and value is far higher. We love Estbek House and intend to keep coming back.

The best meal and eating out experience during our two week stay in the area. Service was smooth and unobtrusive and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious. I would mention the fish pie in particular : it was no ordinary pie at all ! The atmosphere was warm and relaxed and we felt very welcome. Some might say the restaurant is expensive but we thought the whole experience was well worth it.

We visited Estbek for the second time in a week. Food, particularly sea food dishes, is very good and warrants a second visit. Tim in the kitchen is an excellent chef and David manages front of house together with a 'young' lady who has been there for nineteen years! The wine selections are good as well! We shall be back next year for our annual visit to Sandsend!

It was an outstanding meal. My husband and I took the opportunity to go for his birthday whilst staying nearby for a couple of nights without our children. It was beautiful. There was absolutely nothing to fault it whatsoever. It isn’t cheap but it’s well worth the cost in our opinion. A thoroughly enjoyable experience the service was outstanding even the chitter chatter at the end of the evening whilst waiting for our taxi that they very kindly arranged for us as there’s absolutely no phone signal. We will be back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others. Thank you.

Attentive service with pre-drinks available in separate room during consideration of the main menu. Food order quickly available and lobster (pre request) also expected. Starters of either soup or 'fish' based dishes to choice. Lobster served warm and garnished with small prawns and salad items. Selection of 3 or 5 small dessert items created a fitting finale to this long awaited dining! Excellent!

Esbek House is a fantastic restaurant. Perhaps I would have liked one or two more non-veg-non-fish option, but I do understand that they cook from fresh and you simply cannot keep ingredients around on the off chance that somebody might want a non-fish meal. Also the wine list does not have your traditional French, Italian or Spanish options, but the sommelier is great and will suggest the right wine to go with your meal. Given the quality of the overall experience it seemed very reasonably priced. To summarize: Trust the rosettes. ;-)

I booked Estbek House for my dad's 81st birthday as a treat, I'm so glad i did, literally from walking through the door we we're warmly greeted, we we're 20 mins early so had a drink downstairs at the bar until our table was ready, as soon as we saw the setup in the dining room we knew it would be a great night, very clean everywhere, attention to detail was excellent, the food was on another level, 2 of the dishes we had was Lobster & Fillet steak, my dad had the steak and said it's the best he's ever had, we also had a selection from the desert menu, every one that we had were delicious. I'd like to thank all the staff for making us feel so welcome and to the chefs for the amazing food, we can't wait to come back next year. Darren

I booked a table for my husband’s birthday in this restaurant and the food was fantastic, I dare say it was the best see food we’ve had in a long time. It was our first time in that restaurant but won’t be last whenever we visit Whitby we definitely will go back there and will certainly recommend it to everyone.

The food is magnificent tasty and very efficiently presented. At no time do you ever feel hurried to finish any plater. My only complaint as such is the car oark is a long walk in the dark and even worse in a dense fog like we had last Thursday. There are no street lights once you leave the main road.

We had the most wonderful evening at Estbek House. The food was beautifully prepared and the service extremely efficient. The staff were so pleasant and helpful with wine choices etc. The ambience was perfect and made for a lovely intimate evening. Highly recommended for those discerning fish eaters.

A very nice meal in a lovely restaurant everything was well cooked and flavoured staff were attentive good to a well organised and efficient kitchen- nobody hiding! The only slight negatives were very little alternative to fish if you have a group and someone doesn’t like fish or want fillet steak ( it is a fish restaurant) quite expensive and parking was a slight problem but these are all signs of the times and economic difficulties Overall a good evening meal for our anniversary

Could not fault this restaurant, service and staff on point . Food wow . The fish pie was not as I expected at all . Full of every type of fish you could think of . From lobster to scallops. The sweet we had was the mini cakes/pots and ice creams. To finish off the lady brought us home made chocolates ❤️ Please book and enjoy .
