Etch is fantastic - this is our second visit and the food is amazing. Very efficient service which allows you to enjoy the courses whilst not waiting too long between things to try. Lovely food, lovely people - thank you once again.

The food was amazing but slightly beaten by Little Fish Market that we also visited recently.... Although the lobster and meat courses here were outstanding. The service was fabulous and the atmosphere much more enjoyable than some other similar type restaurants we’ve been to with a more hip and trendy vibe. Value is good and the knowledge of the ingredients and produce by the staff was impressive! Wine was affordable and the chilled red we had from a local vineyard was perfect. Definitely would recommend and go again.

We had a spectacular meal at Etch - living up to its considerable reputation. It was a lovely touch to have Steven Edwards himself serving and presenting many of the dishes. We'll definitely be back to enjoy another special evening with the team at Etch. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

The food and service were great; as a venue though it's too noisy, far too many hard surfaces and we had to struggle to hear each other at times. Definitely an 'occasion' restaurant and one worth visiting but with the proviso that you need to concentrate to have a conversation
The tasting menu was well balanced and the food really extremely good. Whilst waiting staff are very keen to please, the service did seem to slow down as the evening went on. We had an 8pm booking and left at 11.45. It's nice to take time over a meal but after 11pm I admit to being impatient for the last 3 courses to show up and was too tired to really enjoy that last bit sadly. Would be great if it could be done in a 3 hour window especially as the food requirements are predictable. Would recommend albeit would tell friends to be prepared for a long wait. Thankyou Etch.
Our special occasion restaurant and it is special. Menu changes regularly so you always get something different and it never disappoints. Staff attentive but not over bearing. Substantial and good range of wines. Food always immaculately presented and packs a serious flavour punch. We will definitely be returning.
Etch consistently hits the mark with excellent food and service. The menu changes monthly to take advantage of seasonal produce, but follows a similar format each time. I normally opt for the 7 course menu, which is perfect for a long late lunch.
The dishes are small and the descriptions simple, but the flavours are fabulous and the cooking and presentation generally flawless.
I keep going back and have always found it to be the best food in Brighton

Food was out of this world and the service outstanding, yet it still had a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere!
Our whole experience was amazing. The food was sublime, the service was impeccable, attention to detail was faultless, whilst we were made to feel totally comfortable and relaxed.
Spectacular food! We had the 9 course menu and were blown away. Difficult to pick favourite courses, but the duck egg was exceptional, and the rabbit stunning. The staff were also extremely welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable. Great wine list too.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Low key but were always there when you needed anything. Interesting that the menu changes each month and ALL the staff try it, food and wine, so they can speak about it from personal experience. A great way to create overall feeling within which is passed to the customers.
This was the 3rd time I have had a meal at the restaurant, and I have already booked to go again next month. They have really got it right...fantastic food and extremely friendly and welcoming staff. So looking forward to next time!

The wine flight was fantastic too. We loved every course! The waiter was attentive, and informative upon each course and wine. Loved every minute of the dinner!
My husband who is a hotel director in charge of 9 hotels worldwidecsaid it was one of the best meals he has ever eaten. My veggie daughter loved her meal. The wines were fantastic and very well explained by sommeliers who clearly love their job. The waitresses were lovely. If we lived in the uk we would be back nearly every month. Roll on next August.

I love this restaurant and can rely on always having the most wonderful meal. Lunch and Dinner have different feels to them and in all honesty lunch is better! We are going back next month!

Very good food and service. Great wine list. We had 7-course menus plus two starters. It was in the end too much food for us so we wish there was a 5-course menu option for dinners with the two choices of the higher end 9-course menu at the same price of 65gbp/ea (currently its shellfish and cheese options). I would definitely go again but for lunch which is 5 courses. Great experience, chef and staff. We liked our wine as well. Thank you.
This is the second time my wife and I have dined at Etch and they did not disappoint. We were made to feel very special from the time we arrived till we left 3 hours later. The food was outstanding, all 9 courses were well thought out and the flavours worked so well together. Mr Edwards the chef does an excellent job of taking you on a journey through the courses building all the way and just when you think it can't get any better, it does. We will be back!

We’ve just booked our fourth visit...
Would have give 5* overall but for was rather noisy and wines pricey - only found 1 x bottle under £30. However, the food was outstanding with interesting combinations and flavours. The personal table service by the main man himself was a great personal touch. Personal flavour highlights at a recent meal were squab pigeon breast with beetroot jus and the slow cooked duck egg.
Fantastic food. Particularly enjoyed the sea trout and the bass. The chocolate desert was to die for.
