This was my second time at ethos. The food is great and offers gluten free options, which for me is perfect. I love being able to choose what I want to and the amount I want to. A better selection of gluten free desserts would be nice, there were only 2 choices.
Really good food, always seems to be something new to try. Great concept with weighing starter and main courses. Loved the mint chocolate truffles and the banoffi cake desert.
It was a bit crowded and the staff wasn’t as nice because I felt that they were overworked - too few per customer. However, the food was delicious and I appreciated that each label had all the ingredients written out.
Good food but prefer the vegetarian menu to the vegan menu which was more limited in variety.
Lovely tasting food. Drinks service a little confused as they have stopped doing the smoothies on the main menu and the waitress was unaware of this. Food is charged by weight. Can get a little bit expensive.
Service was poor - miserable staff. It doesn't take a lot to smile
We had to ask to move from "the best place in the restaurant", since it gave primary view of the staff walking in and out all the time. Way to distracting for a anniversary dinner. But that was swiftly solved to our full satisfaction.
Generally, service was really good. And the overall space was surprisingly quiet, thanks to some clever design of floors and walls.
Much larger menu than expected. Enabled us to make choices.
However, several dishes missed "the punch", or that special taste that should surprise you in a restaurant that class. Especially one fish dish needed even the basic salt & pepper.
That said, the quality was excellent and there were some very nice combinations to create some pleasurable experiences.
The deserts tried to make up for some of the shortcomings. They did in taste and quality, but it was way too much - though eating all of it could be considered our own fault.
So recommended to go once.
It would of been really good. But there was an issue with the fire alarm so 75% of our time at Ethos we were unable to speak to each other due to the noise. The staff were very apologetic but it’s not the point really. Some sort of token or voucher would be really nice so if you could sort something like £20/£25 off of the next bill, me and my other half would be more than happy to return.
Lovely find! Went for my daughters birthday meal, lovely fresh flavoursome food! As a meat eater I was very impressed with the flavours and how filling the meal was. My daughter, who’s vegan, could and did try everything! Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. The food is served Buffett style although they provide table service for everything else. Plates are weighed so it’s harder to stick to a budget however we ate well and filled our plates for a fair £13-£15 each. Would definitely return.
I have been here so many times and last 2-3 times, the food was not good, it was like a tasteless mix of different ingredients mashed together!
Last time we were a big company, only 2 of 9 liked the food-buffet....
Wonderful food, relaxed atmosphere
Here, the food is self-service and you pay according to the weight of your food. It's a great way to try a lot of different vegan/vegetarian food but unfortunately, when we dined at 7pm, there were already many dishes which were not being replenished so the choice was not as extensive as expected.
I've been vegetarian for almost 40 years and found the food was good, but not amazing. The food is tasty and varied so might be better for lunch, rather than dinner.
The place has a good ambience and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Desserts are individually priced. We tried three which were a peanut butter and caramel chocolate slice and two raw chocolate/caramel heart things. They were all overloaded with coconut oil. They were very interesting, rather than being a dessert I would bother with again. Those avoiding dairy might find the desserts more palatable than we did.
A nice range of teas and fruit juices/smoothies. A small but reasonable range of alcoholic drinks.
Go here for a good vegetarian lunch.
A firm favourite . Good value , tasty vegan food .
Incredibly tasty food! Loved being able to pick your own dishes. High class buffet in a gorgeous setting
Our lunch at Ethos was absolutely PEFECT! The food was delicious - so much variety, all my guests were really happy! Good value too. I piled my plate high and hen I went to get it weighed I was expecting it to cost twice as much as it did! And your staff were so friendly and helpful too. We will be back!
I am not a vegetarian or a vegan, but found the food here excellent, the hot dishes were delicious, with s good selection
Ethos is a really fantastic restaurant. A simple concept, delicious food and a good variety of options for all tastes and dietary requirements.
Gorgeous food spoilt by being very overpriced and bad service. No one asked us if we wanted any drinks, the restaurant was self service but they still charged a service charge ! !
Fabulous food! And very well presented. Love the ambience too!
Highly recommend. Took my vegan friends with me and they absolutely fall in love with the place.
The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great. Its a real find, but the staff are so indifferent. Maybe its the service model that's the problem - you serve yourself and then pay at the counter so there is minimal interaction. They seem bored and unfriendly.
Good for lunch
I enjoyed lunch with a friend. We both agreed that it was one if the best meals we had. Ethos is to be commended for the wide range of imaginative food available. I look forward to my next visit and will, with pleasure, recommend the restaurant to others. Thank you!
Really great place. Another time had fantastic evening at ETHOS.
Great food - fabulous for lunch on a busy shopping day
Excellent for tasty, veggie food. The salads were good and lots of choice and there was some very good hot food, the only problem being that it was barely warm. The decor and ambience is great and staff are attentive and pleasant. Worth going to. Just hope they improve the servery for hot food.
Only one gluten free hot food option. Quite expensive for what it is. But tasty food and nice staff and decor
Always really enjoy going to Ethos. Good quality, nicely prepared food at reasonable (albeit slightly high) prices. Hadn't sat at the this particular table before... but watch out for a couple of the tables near the bar / counter. The chairs are really squashed in next to the 'trees', and it was a bit awkward getting out of my seat to go to get my delicious food! Not a problem, just an observation really.
Great food and lovely atmosphere. Good cocktails too, would have loves more options in the dessert table though.
Booked a table on Saturday night for my second visit here though the restaurant wasn't overly busy. Good veggie and vegan options on offer, though the hot options weren't hot enough. Good drinks options too. The Scotch egg and roast aubergines were delicious!
Excellent, inexpensive, healthy with great ambiance and decor. Good for a quick snack or a more special occasion. Lots of choices. All looked delicious. Great to have organic wine too.
Amazing choice of food both hot and cold. Good friendly service. Pay for food by the weight so very ethical. I visited with a friend and we had a fantastic evening. I will definitely be back.
Second visit and a wide and interesting menu with vegan options
Top, as always!! One of my favourite places in London!!
Third visit this year. Consistent. Good service. good value. Good choice.
Food is fine and fresh
Always great food.
Slightly more expensive than most high st lunch places but the food is very good.
such a good vegetarian choice would go again
Wonderful place, super tasty food and beautiful atmosphere. I really love this place!!
A group of 4 of us had a Sunday Brunch at Ethos! It was a nice buzzing atmosphere. I couldn’t really work out why it was a brunch rather than a lunch.
The salads were amazing a good choice of other vegetarian dishes.
The desserts were a bit disappointing as they are charged per dessert rather than by weight which makes them expensive. It would be better to have smaller portions with perhaps some ice cream or cream to go with the meringues and cakes.
Overall very nice meal though!
